Very nice
I've got a T5 and it's great. The four motion is for wet fields,snowy conditions and the odd rutted/pot holed track. Get a Landrover if you want to drive on terrain like this or you will be spending thousands in the body shop.

The oil filter on old transporters used to stick out to the front and was pretty vulnerable to whacking on the smallest of bumps off road... What's it like on the 4x4 version? I assume they've tucked everything up and out the way?
living in Romania is rather slow, I would like to have one but that's just admirato and apreciato as I had not ever question hold that!

Not bad, looks like standard tyres, true? Standard clearance of the T5 is 200mm, now here we have 230mm, 15% more. Seems to be not that much of a difference...?!

Anyone suggesting 'get a Land Rover' clearly hasn't seen people taking VW campers on expedition to places like the Sahara. They go in comfort where normal 4x4 owners are uncomfortable.

Yikes! I hope the belly of this thing is covered with a big ole skid plate. All wheel/4 wheel drive doesn't mean much when you are rockin a whole 1.5 inches of ground clearance...

@diefreundedsl für mich als Angler wär das Auto wohl ideal, für verschlammte Feldwege langt das auf jeden Fall. Verbraucht auch sicherlich weniger als ein L R. Für den Amazonas würd ich selbst aber auch nen Defender vorziehen!!

A new one isn't necessary if you can fix a van of your choice to your liking, even if it's an old one.

Die Karre hat null Federwege, keine Verschränkung und lupft das Beinchen. Das ist fürs Gelände no go und so schlecht wie ein Dacia Duster. Das ging beim alten T3 Syncro 16 Zoll ja erheblich besser. Da bleibt für die Fernreise doch wieder nur der Landcruiser oder Defender. Die fahren schön das Fahrwerk aus und behalten mit allen vier Rädern Kontakt. Wetten. Ein Kasten Bier !
