Thanks so much for the video! I just purchased this for cleaning up after a flood and the instruction manual on assembly wasn't much help...your video answered my questions. It is really quiet; love that.
Glad the video helped! Sorry about your flood, hopefully the vacuum helped with that. I really do love the quiet operation. I can use it inside while people are sleeping, and use it in my garage without feeling like I need ear protection.
6:50 How mine is setup (left to right): big floor brush on its side, crevice tool, dusting brush sitting on top to avoid ruining the bristles, wand #1, wand #2 with the small floor head attached
Because I know I don't use the floor or dusting brush I just have those sitting on a shelf in the basement. Good to know that others have figured out a way to arrange all the attachments in the bag!
I got mine yesterday and I’m happy it picks up just about anything. It’s quieter than regular vacuums, but it does not have the option to blow leaves so if you’re looking for one to blow leaves, this is not the one to buy.
I assume whatever they do to make the vacuum quiet is the reason it doesn't have the blow function. That's definitely a consideration when buying this vacuum, but I know I've never used that feature so I wasn't too worried about it. Glad you like it! The quiet operation is amazing.
Absolutely! It's really the main reason behind me picking this vacuum up. Nothing was wrong with my Rigid vac, but when I heard about this one being so much quieter I had to try it out.
Needed to find out what screws to buy to install the casters and tool bag. Lost them with the box months ago. Thanks for this clear and helpful video. Liked your descriptions and review.
Man, I just bought the new version of the RIDGID last week. I haven't unboxed it yet, tho. Worth returning for the noise reduction? I appreciated the RIDGID's inclusion of a bunch of car attachments. Videos are lookin crisp, dude.
The car attachments are definitely a cool part about the Rigid. I would say it all comes down to how you use your vacuum. If how loud the rigid is really isn't a concern, I say stick with it. If you'd appreciate a quieter vacuum because you're using it inside, the Dewalt is the pick. I tried some new lighting and different lenses on the old camera for this one, thanks for noticing! I appreciate the comments!
I have a Ridgid vac, about a year old, and that damn thing is loud as hell. So if it were me, I'd be returning it tomorrow and buying this one. I'm looking around to see who carries this one in my area so I can get it, the quietness of it says it all.
@@StevesGarageGreat video, Steve. Hey can you please tell the brand of the phone holder you're using when you did the decibel testing? It looks pretty cool and I need one lol. Thanks.
On any shop vac I've ever used you just attach the bag to the inside of the port where the hose connects to. The idea is it cuts down on dust and the mess is contained in that bag. Make sure to not suck up anything wet as that will make a giant mess of the bag and whatever is in it.
@@jiinsescapemusic Nope! That's just a filter bag that you can use to contain a dusty mess. Something like sheetrock dust. But you don't need to have one to use any shop vac.
I believe it's the 2 stage motor that it uses. When I searched it seems that DeWalt is pretty quiet about it. Understandably so since they're the only ones that have this type of quiet vacuum out right now.
Hi. Do you know, if this noise is ok or not? I was doing brakes and by rotating wheel hub noticed that weird noise. I can literally hear sound (which you can hear as well, especually at 0:10) similar to like a lot of metalic balls playing inside. I susprect that it shouldn't be like that. But I don't know, if my assumtion is correct or not ua-cam.com/video/QCVU-r_imwM/v-deo.html
Did you comment on the wrong video? In any event, are you having any symptoms of a bad axle? The boot looks good, I don't see any grease. That sounds like normal driveline noise to me, but diag over video is always tough. Are you getting any noise or vibration while driving that might point to a bad axle?

Our old "Kärcher" is really much louder than this. We should keep this model in mind if the old vac is broken!

Those car attachments suck lmao
@@bread-gz3rl Do you have a recommendation on some good ones? I'm sure other viewers as well as myself would love to know!

The Dewaly's tone was lower and much more pleasing than the high pitched Ridgid vacuum.
Yup! It's been a joy to use. It doesn't make me feel like I need ear-pro to use it. I wish my house vacuums sounded the same.
Great video
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
hey bro i gotta question regarding mk4 gli. where is the turbo muffler located, so i could do a muffler delete
meaning would i donit from the top of the carnot from bottom
Not sure what you mean by turbo muffler, but the exhaust muffler is located towards the rear of the car.
no one on YT has the same dewalt as mine from Costco and nowhere in the manual does it say wtf do to with the dust bag

What about the filter bag? Doesn’t it come with the filter bag?
Yes it does. I mention the dust/filter bag when I'm taking all the parts out of the tank. It's the brown paper style.
@@StevesGaragedo I need the brown bag in order to use or can I use without it?
@@jiinsescapemusic Nope! That's just a filter bag that you can use to contain a dusty mess. Something like sheetrock dust. But you don't need to have one to use any shop vac.
How is the vac bag attached? I have concrete dust I need to vac up from a construction job.
How does it make it quieter though

Why it has 2 outlets?
Top one is the vacuum inlet, the bottom is the drain for when you suck up anything wet.

very interesting unboxing- goodbye! 🤓
Hopefully leaving to go buy the vacuum? 😉
