I haven't worked a large show in a long time. All of the major houses here in Pittsburgh went union when I got a public school teaching gig. Unfortunately, I dropped out of the game. I used to love climbing towers and running spot lights. I thought all of this would be automated and controlled by computers by now. Thanks for the videos.

Well, there's definitely some automation out there these days with tracking and the like. There are also remote stations and monitors where the spot ops aren't actually sitting at or touching the physical light they are controlling. So all the spot ops can be in one room with their control station and coms, and not even in the same room as the lights!

Is there one that can be controlled remotely with or without WiFi with its own remote control?

Yes, remote controlled followspots are definitely out there these days. While automated tracking is a thing too... there are definitely remotely operated followspots that still require operators too, and they still get cues from the LD and all of that, but the spot ops aren't physically hands on with the spotlight. They are in some room/area with coms and controllers.
For lack of a better description, think of something along the lines of PTZ cams as far as call and control goes.
