I think this is a must have for anyone that is out driving on the road a lot or for anyone that wants maximum protection. I drive for a living so this is perfect for me!
Nice review, Techdog47. Subscribed. I'm glad they quit putting that plastic screen protector on these cases. In my experience they didn't fit well and often had the rainbow effect. I much prefer putting my own high quality protector, just as you did, even though it's a pain. Have this exact combo except my 11 Pro Max is Space Grey and used Mous screen protector.
Enjoy your Pro Max, it's a great device. I agree on the rainbow effect on the built in screen protector, that was annoying. Thank you for subscribing and thank you for watching!
I find it funny how the main stereotype about apple users is that they pay so much money for the logo and literally most of the comments are expressed disappointment in otter box for removing the logo cut out. Lol -sent from iPhone 11
@@katiehansen5931 agree, in my experience the outer rubber shell gets a bit loose after being used for a long time and i hated when it would stop fitting right around the cutout, so i'm pretty glad it doesn't have it anymore.
Laborious. Bulky. Complex. After praising the Silver iPhone 11 Pro’s refined design, you had to put it in this cumbersome case. There are better, slim and tidy protective cases around. I am not sold. Thanks.
I’ll tell you right now lol that hard plastic is gonna scratch the hell out of the sides of your phone it’s gonna look like crap after a few months , had one on my iPhone X truly regret getting the defender case , best bet is to us the commuter case as it only uses a silicon sleeve that wraps around the phone plus the hard outer shell.
If you’re still using this case have you checked the top and sides of the actual phone? I’ve seen some horror pictures of the iPhone getting scratched to hell on the sides because of the inner plastic shell.
I’ve checked and the phone is fine. I’ve personally never had that scratching issue with Otterbox cases, but I have heard others have had problems with scratching.
Good review of these cases. I have been using Otterbox defenders for years, and i'm really disappointed that Otterbox does nothing new for their defender flagship. Its identical year after year, once they took the screen protector off. I know they work very well, but how about some design changes?!??!?!
Christian Lemus the built in screen protector is junk it left a space between the screen and case allowing dust and other debris to build up between and put micro scratches all over the screen, it also developed a rainbow like effect and made the touch screen act laggy having to double tap because the gap between the screen and protector, doing away with that crappy “screen protector” was the best thing otterbox ever did
That's actually the Defender PRO. You ca tell by the design back. The regular Defender has a plain back, the Defender Pro has the pattern and has anti microbial stuff on it or its made of it.
It is frustrating, having to pay so much for the phone, then the case and now a screen protector! Hopefully the ridiculous curved display goes away and Otterbox can once again make cases with built in screen protectors. Though I fear they won't, because they probably make pretty good profit from selling screen protectors now.
Garbage. I had otterboxes for iphones 3 - 6s and they all crapped out. Rubber got loose all the time and now they took away the screen protection ? Absolute junk!!!!!
i used to use a clear speck case and i really liked it but one day i was walking into work and playing pokemon go and not looking where i was going and ran straight into the doorframe and dropped my phone and broke the screen protector. so now i'm using the tank. lol
I’ve had my case about 4 months and so far no problems. I’m sure though that given enough time the outer rubber case will start stretching out of shape.
You can charge wireless no problem. I can’t say for certain how far of a drop the case will protect the phone, but once I dropped my phone down a metal fire escape and it landed one floor down on the concrete, and the phone was fine, the case itself just had a slight scuff on it.
Think the secret is to push one nail into the clip and pull with the other hand...saved me a lot of fingers 😂😂 difficult to explain sry for that but this case is tricky
I get they can’t cover speakers or microphone but I wish there was something to catch the dust at least. I broke Brand new phone blowing the dust out with light air compressor lol luckily got replacement told them it was like that when I got it 💀
Great video! You have used the phone with the case and can you still rec ommend it? I am searching for a super durable case to protect my phone and also something not extremely male like as I am a woman :)
I love the Otterbox Defender cases, they are my go to case! You can get the case in different colors, check out the website and see what you like. Thank you for watching the video, I’m glad you enjoyed it! www.otterbox.com
I got the defender the pink one and love it. I know cases are not gender based but it would be awkward for me to wear a dress and heels and to take out a huge black bulky case. You know what I mean..
Techdog47 putting on this case directly on top of the actual iPhone screen, before with older iPhones it was advised to put a sheet plastic screen protector (not glass) underneath because it would leave marks on the actual phone screen when removing the case and rubbing the screen, marks would be there
The case isn’t actually hitting the screen, that being said I personally won’t go without a screen protector, I want as much protection as practical in case the phone drops.
Babyjoker360 no metal and glass are way harder than plastic, I’m pretty sure you haven’t got one since your asking so I also want to let you know it adds about 50% more weight to your phone :)
I just wish the camera had something covering it too. I work around saw dust all day no matter what case I get it stills gets in somewhere .. the notch on the front as well and speaker ports :( just gotta leave my phone in my bag until break I guess
Techdog47 it’s my worst fear lol not even dropping the phone scares me as much. I work on a saw machine cutting wood my old iPhone, even in my pocket with charge port facing down it would fill up so bad the phone broke from that alone. I’d clean it out almost every night until it just wouldn’t charge -_- I got the 11 pro Max a week ago I’ve been keeping it in a safe place lol
Techdog47 if you know a really good case and screen protector for my problem pls remember me and comment back lol. Life proof case was cool but I like glass protector and even life proof had speaker openings and back camera too :/
Sorry for the delay in replying, I've been super busy and things are hectic! I'll be checking into a good protection combo and getting back to you ASAP.
Jorge Rios , I think the iPhone 11 pro is pretty durable, especially with the steel frame and supposedly more durable glass. However there is ALWAYS going to be a chance to break the glass based on circumstance. You won’t see everyone with the otter box defender pro case: it’s a niche product for a niche audience who want the most extreme solution to protect their devices.

I actually prefer the design now.. i never liked logo cut outs on cases. 🤷🏻♀️
Me too, I like the case design.
ya same i also just keep the belt thing on the back of the phone all the time
Thanks for showing the clip stand. I never knew

I personally like the Apple logo cut out on the old defenders..not sure why they removed it

Can you show a removal video? Looks to be harder to remove now without that Apple logo cutout.
I'll do a removal video, removing the case is a real pain, and I'm not joking.

Not at all.

No screen protector built in is hard to accept, especially considering how expensive the cases are.
I kinda want that Apple logo cut out back on otter boxes but I just hope this case does its jobs when my 11 drop
The Otterbox Defender offers excellent protection, I’ve learned that first hand!
do all screen protectors work with otterbox cases for 10/11
I don't know if all screen protectors work, there are so many different ones available. I'm using one from Insignia and it works great with the case.
Does the this case make the phone run hot at all?
I’ve never had a problem with the phone overheating due to the case.
Wish it was available in canada
Will a popsocket work with the OtterBox defender pro case?
Otterbox sells Defender cases with popsockets already on, but I’m not sure how well putting one on a case that didn’t come with it will stick.
Just broke the screen on my iPhone 11. Wouldn’t have happened on the old style otter box with screen protectors.
The curved displays make a built in screen protector all but impossible, in my opinion curved screens are pointless and need to go away.
i used to use a clear speck case and i really liked it but one day i was walking into work and playing pokemon go and not looking where i was going and ran straight into the doorframe and dropped my phone and broke the screen protector. so now i'm using the tank. lol
Otterbox is my favorite heavy duty case.
No drop test? And by the way, it’s better suited with the case in space grey.
I can't afford to do a drop test!

It does add some bulk, but isn't too bad.

Does this case scratch your phone ? I’ve read that people where complaining about this
I’m more interested in protecting the screen. You should have attached the clip to the screen side.
A screen protector is a definite must.
Is no problem with that case for wireless charger??
Yep the case will work fine with wireless charging.
The hard plastic interior shell of the Defender will scratch the sides of your phone over time.
I’ve never had that happen to me personally, but I’ve heard of it being a problem for others.
