you need to learn sales 101. videoing while looking at the truck and talking about how great the truck was, that bad thing. never let the person selling know how bad you want it. you were to exited. This gives the man a chance to do research and then back out plus some viewer may have found the guy and may a better offer. in the future may want to wait till the deal is done before releasing videos.
Exactly what I was thinking no offense but I would’ve never posted that video until the deal was done my thoughts are someone came and made him a better deal🤷🏻♂️

You are correct. You should have waited to post the Video. He has read all the comments. He now knows the Value of the Power Giant. Loose lips Sink Ships. Now with that said he should have stood by the agreement he had with you. A hard lesson learned. Sorry you lost out but you are a little wiser. That's all part of growing old.

Can't say I disagree. I would add, make that old coot drive and pick up Frank himself. If a buyer wants the deal, they'll make the arrangements to pick it up. Old dude was full of shit, and shoulda backed out before they even got on the road to do the deal.

@@Montanyo the guy who drive it without grinding Dipping said he would 10k too if they came down there and didn't grind. He said "it's an old truck you can't drive it without grinding" !! I guess he thinks all that grinding is normal. Like a 50 year old truck worked daily for decades would have any gears left after all that grinding.

The guy just use you to advertise the power wagon some one so that truck in your UA-cam video and made him a better offer mate you just need to keep it quiet make the deal and put it out after you have it in your driveway
He was just coming up with excuses didn't want to trade from the start.
I truly understand you want great content for your channel but when you see a diamond in the rough and you do your research when you get to the seller you guys need to put on your poker face. It is a need to know and when you talk about it n front of the seller it causes seller's remorse. Save all the hype and great content once you sealed the deal. More than likely when he saw your last video bragging about this great find in the back of his mind he was wondering what the hell am I doing!! Heck When I watch the video with everything you were saying about that truck you were like kids in a candy store. You needed to act more like Tire kickers. Once he realized what he had you offering the free stuff you not of made any difference in the world. if the cards were played right he should of been the one offering the extra stuff. After 64 years I think I should know what I'm talking about. Keep up the great work I love your channel.

What blew the deal was no power steering, and the alternator noise.
Or the fact he realized this kid didnt know what hes doing when he worked on it. Probably had alot more wrong with it than he disclosed to us. Old man probably went to his channel and saw what DD paid for it and the shoddy work he did and realized it wasnt a good deal..

I think you might have learned a valuable lesson on this one. When someone presents a deal like this get it done as quick as possible otherwise the other person wants to change things or back out altogether when they have had time to think about it. Or someone else gets the deal because the other party starts talking to other people about what they are doing.
Good advice. If you are a serious player you close the deal when offered.

@@tuffram2165 it's not such a big deal on little cars but you really wanna cross tie bigger vehicles like the 500 series Dodge. Next time you see a military rig in a convoy, look at how they cross the left to the right and the right to the left and if you do it at 45 degrees to the length of the vehicle, you accomplish locking down fore and aft movement as well as left to right.
You really wanna be able to get the trailer up on two wheels without losing the load. Can't do that with nylon ratchet straps.
You need grade 70 load chains and binders. And then, of course, drive carefully and avoid harsh throttle and steering inputs.
When you see anyone using straps the way these guys did, you wanna keep your distance and have a dashcam recording for the insurance coverage

Don't usually comment on videos, but this happened to me this past summer. 2h each way and guy reached out to me and said was 100 percent buying it. Got there and he started nit picking it and lowballed me. I drove it back home...

One thing I have learned over about 50 years of buying cars and trucks is that those lifetime opportunities come along about once a week. You will find something you like.
Sounds like you got bit by social media. Its easy to get excited about a great vehicle find. The key is it's never over until its home in your driveway with it registered in your name. The entire video and sharing it on social media should have been held back until it was indeed officially yours. To keep your YT views up, you could have made and posted a video hyping up your find, with out saying exactly what it was. Build excitement and make people wait....When its home have a big reveal!

In FL, windshields are replaced for free by insurance. State law.

I know the feeling I rented a u haul pickup to drive 3 hours to do a trade a 4 wheeler for a truck and got there and told me he didn’t want it that was 300 bucks down the drain

The guy obviously mentioned to someone that someone was interested in his truck. Then someone said, "man!! you're gettin screwed!!" (not saying he was). Now he is feeling that that he has a complete gem and will never sell it because "he's gonna restore it someday".

That Power Wagon is ROUGH. Parts are scarce, and expensive. The guy actually did you a favor in the long run by backing out of the deal....I will agree with him in that oak is the wood needed for the flooring, pine is slick and sells when wet.

It happens to all of us eventually. Once, I flew 2000 miles and a lady backed out of a deal because her niece said she wanted the car for free. I lost a grand.
