I think what he said is that these intimate objects like gemstones do influence our energy and have an impact on it but we must not trap ourselves into these gemstones because it will take away our freedom to evolve by our own. People wear gemstones because they want to change something in themselves but what Sadhguru is telling that we ourselves have the capability to restructure ourselves and our future as we are humans. We must not restrict our potential to grow on our own with these inanimate objects.

@Oliver Pong and yet we believe black matter to exist in science, we have no proof. We do not understand quantum physics because it behaves differently when we observe it and science has no explanation. There is a massive grey space in science which we do not understand and this “energy” could be the answer or at least send us in the right direction of study. Being close minded in science has plagued scientific advancement forever, even John Snow was ridiculed when he tried to prove miasma is not real and contaminated water causes illness.
Humanity needs to revolve more than evolve. Inside out, not outside in.

In fact, there is nothing right and nothing wrong..generally people tell their points of view, but Sadhguru clearly sees everything as it is..and says what he knows
The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived;
Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are timeless, unchanging, eternal, unconditional love, peace, joy, compassion, wisdom, contentment and fulfillment; your true self is what all beings seek. Why dont schools teach real things like this? After 16 to 18 years people leave school still not knowing anything about life. In 13 minutes this master has teached more about life than schools can do in 18 years.

@@noelhughes6589 Alas, that I cannot immediately jump from who I am to that path. But at this point in life at least I know what I don't know. And, I do believe there are many ways to ponder freedom. But freedom is a struggle to acheive because change does not come overnight and no one lives on this earth without sorrow as a teacher, no matter how prettily packaged the philosophy, East or West. It takes practice and self-knowledge to slip through the cracks of culture and relationship to find the true self and then the quest can begin. The desire for freedom. What that is to me may differ vastly from what it means to you, or to anyone. And too, there is a temporal aspect. I am not done with my wanderings, but in the words of that Western philosopher, "not all who wander are lost."

What I have distilled from some of the comments here is: gem stones and crystals are useful tools to effect (spiritual) changes - just don't depend them as crutches. At a certain point you must make use of your own inate powers to effect changes. Like medicines, crystals are used to make corrections to energies. This enables the flow of energies to go where you need them to go at the correct magnitude and wavelength.

Exactly just like people with bibles people who wears cross people who have lucky objects for their own right. These are just tools as long as you don't use them as crutches anything can be helpful or even rosaries. In the end, it's our own faith and will to walk and decide for ourselves. At the end of the day, we are the only ones responsible in our lives these objects crystals cross I might say are just a way to remind us of things that are important to us.

For example if you wear a stone to eat more healthy , and you look at it every day you wil be reminded that you want to eat more healthy. I am sure it wil work and you wil eat more healthy. If you wear a stone for protection and you look at it every day and think i am protected, you wil start to feel more protected, stronger.
It wil work as long as you connect with the stone. The mind wil connect and your mind is extremely powerful.

To me I got that believing something that will change you (outside of yourself like gemstones/heaven etc.) is binding yourself to something which in turn takes your freedom. So yes they can change your perception, but in a way that takes away your freedom. I could be wrong, but that's what sense I made out of it.
Yes he did communicate what you say but he also said it was fine if you were not thinking about it being on your body all the time. I wear a symbol of perfection but rarely think about it yet sometimes it is a reminder of the perfection I have yet to attain.

I'd say at least in your aura field. They can be in your house but they aren't touching you unless they are near you or you come nearer to it. At a distance it only interacts with you on looks not with you in a connection of your energy.

The entanglement, of everything, as he speaks of is how anything can affect something else regardless of the spacetime between them.
@O Yes they work in a very practical way; but you have to know how to use them and how to clean them. Specific crystals are for specific ailments. Lapis lazuli is absolutely brilliant for migraines. I don't know how many people I've seen it work on. Really good book to get to know how to use crystals is 'The Crystal Bible' by Judy Hall. Really clear super practical book. Hope this helps.

The first sentence “inanimate” actually gemstones are alive * they are living sentient beings. They were born from the earth and are very very old. Their gestation periods are much longer than ours.

Whether possessed of weak or strong physical force, everything we interact with influences us to some degree, physically. Chemically, substances influence us. The comparable mass and weight of objects can change the degree of influence they have, like a grain of sand in the sole of our foot, compared the the boulders we drop on it. What our senses are attracted to or repulsed from influences us. When fire was the most advanced technology man possessed, gemstones with their small degree of electromagnetic charge influenced us to a much greater comparably degree. Today, cell phones, laptops and WIFI, by magnitude of the electromagnetic energy they transmit, are the new gemstones. Few can sense the whisper of a polished crystal over the shouts and screams of modern technology. The mineral gemstones haven't stopped talking to us and influencing us. @@confidential303 Yes, I can't tolerate it if I have so much as a grain of sand on my foot and my feet have been that sensitive all my life. If I am barefoot standing on sand, do I feel individual grains? I feel what makes me uncomfortable...between my toes, under my toenail. If I dust off my feet, I know if there are any remaining grains. Likewise, if I have a single loose hair on my skin, I can feel it. This isn't so unusual. Perhaps your skin is less sensitive. But then, that is the point I was making in my comment. People are desensitize because of over-stimulation...the noise of life makes people deaf, dumb and blind to subtleties. To assume that since one cannot perceive, no one else can either is merely a bias in favor of one's own limitations. Would a blind man dare to assert as truth that all men cannot see? Of course not. Your hands might be more sensitive than your feet. You might try spreading a few grains of sand on a smooth surface and pressing your palm over them. Don't look, but try to feel each one. I think you will be able to do that. Let me know if you try that and how it works out.
