I think these are a good idea
As you will always have a live recording of any event that happens on your ride
The quality isn’t great but if someone was behind you on their phone and caused an accident
I think you would be able to clearly see what hey were doing at the time
Great vid 👍
they have a revised design now with a more robust front screen box, but still potato's for cameras, i just bought one off ebay for 33 quid. i suppose it shows who hit who, but not much else.
Well I was about to buy one until I saw the last 30 seconds of the video haha . Considering the price, I wasn't expecting amazing quality. Better than having nothing. Would be interesting to see what its like at night.
Ill play with some settings and do a night ride too. Im surprised how bad images are as they meant to be Hd., like u say better than nothing.
I think HD is just 720p but it is the censor that is more important than resolution. If it is a 1080p but with low bitrate then it will look worse than a 720p video with a high bitrate. This is one of the reasons I upscale all my 1080 footage in editing to 4K so UA-cam allows me a much higher bitrate although that is off topic a tad.
Got now it fit looks easy enough cheers
i agree the camera quality is damn worst.. and for me i would use both cam to replace the side mirror
Really neat install mate, You should be able to at least flip the video with your video editor to fix the rear camera, although it is odd that it is the wrong way around. Is there a setting on the controller hidden somewhere? Does that count as a permanent install? I wonder if it'd be allowed at an ARD?
Ive yet to fully explore the settings but I'd thought 1 setting would affect both cameras., will have to see about Ard next year.
I bought one of these. The front camera quality is poor, the rear actually looks better. I think the reason the rear camera is back to front is to emulate what you see in a rear view mirror especially if you mount the display on your dash. Shame you can't flip the image though. Anyway I've fitted mine and it may help in the case of an accident.
I agree quality of image could be better. Mine wasn't marked front and rear so pot luck to how it came out. The insurance angle is why its worth having something over nothing and its auto recording means it never gets left off.
Can you make a vlog about to how to use that product ?
Sorry, but i do not own the bike anymore. The cam went with the bike 3 years ago?
no, it is an idiot !! his video is zero, nul !!
Hi thanks @Purplemonkey1974 for the tutorial. I bought exactly the same dash cam some months/ years ago and "forgot" it in a closet... Now I have it back, i definitely want to install it on my old Tiger 800. My question is which cam is the front cam and which is the rear one? The leaflet says in the table, las page, Front : 1280x720 / After(!) 640x480. My guess is the 5 pins black cable is for the front one (1280x720) and the 4 pins yellow one is for the rear (640x480). I'm correct ?
Yes, it's not clear at all but think you are correct. Hope you can install it easily 😊
@@Purplemonkey1974 Hope so! thanks for your quick reply ✌
Hi mate, I bought one of these, I have the same problem, have you managed to solve the issue.
Hi, I am looking into one of these. I know the unit is not water proof - have you had any issues in the cold/damp weather bud?
No issues always works. My screen is mounted above my clocks which has had a little condensation but cleared immediately on using it. I think the screen would have still condensated even if placed under my seat.
Can i get a copy of manual please thank you in advance
I no longer have this bike or camera, sorry
Can U upload how this recordin?
The sd card is inserted in the display unit. The recording starts automatically when the bike is switched on (when switch wire is connected to switched circuit ie running lights.) It also can begin recording when bike feels movement (g sensor).
