I just got mine few hours ago, pretty excited to learn.
can you play a bunch of songs yet? :D
Lol, thought this was going to be a video about advanced methods to keep your guitar in tune. But this is actually a "you just bought your first guitar ever" video.
(2022 update, the video title was completely different when I posted this comment, like an hour after it came out). The original never said anything about beginners.
Plus, don't know the relevance of having "electric" in the name.
Steve's Musical Gear Reviews they are just promoting their app, they did same thing for acoustic and bass.
yes it all seemed painfully obvious right? that was basically a sneaky way to make you watch the commercial for the Fender tuner.
Steve's Musical Gear Reviews “tuning for beginners”
Brad Childress what do you mean by “privilege” dude?
An easy way to remember the six strings start at low E at the top &, going down, you have low E, A, D, G, B, & high E. Easily remembered if you just remember: Eddie Ate Dynamite Good Bye Eddie. I thought that this would help a lot of beginners.
WOOOW didn't know that this app could work but it TOTALY does. I downloaded it as you started tuning it caught your tunes and matched exactly what your phone was showing . Saves a couple of bucks. Great video. Thank you so much.
Best part every comment is constant string break thanks guys for the notice
Glad they made this video. I don't have an acoustic or bass guitar so I'm glad they cleared things up. Really helps me see the light.
You need to tune your app

this is no guitar tuning video!! This is just to flaunt off their Fender products. I mean look at that sweet ass Tele. Curse you fender for your awesome color scheme and HD videos.
yeah whats the point of fender tune and this video it just bad
just brought my first guitar and IT SOUNDS SO MUCH BETTER NOW! thank you fender.
Thanks for the walk through. I was having trouble tuning my guitar with another app until I found your video and it worked 👍.
I love this app. I have been tuning my guitar since the second grade maybe sooner. I am sixty five now. I still have a good ear for tuning but with this app it’s a lot faster and you know you are dead on. The Mai thing I like about this app is the multiple tunings. If you like playing any 60’s or 70’s music like Zeppelin and Hendrix etc… you will need some difference tunings other than just standard. Great app!
We strive to make this page a resource for all musicians.. 🎶 Glad we could help!
Do I need to have the guitar plugged into an amp to tune?
(Your the earliest comment I could find that’s why I’m asking you)
@@nicholashouse914 Yes I was curious about that too, according to Google it says it shouldn't be plugged into an amplifier.
Do you tune to sound coming from the amp or the strings itself?
strings, also get a clip on tuner instead, this fender app was waaay off compared to 2 other tuners I have
@@zephyr9756 all j needed to know thank you
to the pitch you listen to this thing or the amp but usually to the pitch of the eadgbe

lmaooo why are so many comments about their strings breaking?? im worried now
I know bro but have you tried it thou?
Don’t try this. Get yourself a snark sn-1 or sn-1x. It’s cheap and more effective than this. Also safer apparently. For 20 dollars less you can get yourself one.
Dude my fucking strings actually broke
@@beeposip Haven't broken my strings yet and I just bought myself an actual fender tuner in a guitar shop
my shit just busted now i’m so fucking pissed
u legit showed us how to use an app thanks for that
I just did E and it was in tune and when I tried to go to A it kept dodging back to E
Thank you for the app reminder. I loaded it as I was watching this. I usually have a tuner with me but there are times I'm visiting a store and wish that I had one for sure.
Got my first instrument today and it's a Guitar! I'm so excited to learn it 😄.
Hey Ik this prolly a dumb question but I wanna get a guitar but do u have to tune it for different songs or no
@@rickymontemayor4338 yes
@@gimmedamoneyboss6691someone else in the comments said no
@@oxicon that’s ridiculous not every song uses the same tuning, luckily there’s apps that can help you tune your guitar in different tuning tho
This is a great vid. Im getting my electric guitar in about 10 hours so im pretty exited. I have never played an instrument let alone an electric guitar before (other than just a play around with a piano and normal guitar we had in home years back)
You need to repeat each string like 3 times each when the string is in tune. For us folks who don't use or trust a tuner. I've used tuners before and they were way off.
I hate that app its saying in using the d cord when I'm doing e
That happened to me too. Its because your e string is way out of tune that it sounds like d! So all you have to do is keep twisting till it reads it back to E. But be careful man u might break the strings
@@waterproof4403 I fixed it a while ago, but thanks for the tip!
The frets of the guitar have to be well regulated to give a good sound, this is also important for tuning...👍
Regulated? Do you mean levelled and crowned?
Not true
Don't use the app I did and it broke my strings
Loser
Use guitar tuna 🤙
iLynx that app broke my strings
Mine worked
Me too
I have a problem where I try to tune the A string but it doesn't even ring out. It just goes tick and abruptly ends. But the string before that is perfectly fine.

@@roven6958 turned out my guitar came messed up and the guy used an Allen key on the headstock to fix it somehow
thanks im just got my first electric guitar
Omg thank you for this video my dad just got my niece an electric guitar for Christmas and she had trouble tuning it thank goodness its now tuned and shes super excited to try out her guitar
Thanks for this! How many times do you wrap the strings around the peg when replacing them (before tuning)?
I downloaded the app but after I tuned the guitar and go back to see if it’s still tuned it says it’s not tuned at all I don’t understand could you please enlighten me on it
Any tips for a beginner? Recently got very interested
Thank you so much, I thought my electric guitar was right and when I seen this app and the video that I was doing it wrong and then when I got it right from the app I felt happy and enjoying my guitar
Stupid question but do I have to plug in the guitar?
IT WORKED!!!!🥳🤯
Just tried using it and snapped high E while using auto tune. Kept telling me to tighten it when it was obviously already too tight.

only watched this for the pretty guitar

"If you just changed your strings, it's a good time to tune."
Says you buddy, I'll keep playing in drop D(issonant).
This app makes no sense I’m tuning my g string and it sais d and I almost broke 2 strings 😂😭
Basically your string is so out of tune is sounds like another string more than the one youre tuning
@@DrawingThingsAndStuf So... what to do in that case?
@@johnflux1 what note are you trying to tune to and what does the tuner say?
@@DrawingThingsAndStuf I figured it out! It seems you have to raise the strings up so they are not touching the bottom fret

Broke my strings
I constantly break string when I'm trying to tune. They always get to tight. I even have a chromatic tuner and I can't ever get the things to get into tune. If I tune down the strings are almost falling of and it still doesn't sound in tune even though it says it's in tune. I have this problem with every guitar I own and have ever player. Other ppl can pick up my guitar and tune it by ear in seconds. Any idea what my problem is?
Hands.
Should your amp be on?
This is a great tuner for beginners
Thank you, I used the fender tune app on my acoustic and it sounds great!
❤️
Thx I couldn’t get E low to tune but the fender thing worked
Hi, I’m about to get my first electric guitar - do you have the sound coming out of the amp when tuning or just out of the guitar?
He's playing through an amp :) But you can tune without an amp, just hold the phone or tuning device close to the guitar :D
At 1:45 it sounds better at E flat, rather than tuned up to E. I've noticed most of my guitars sound better tuned to E-flat, which is also easier to bend and sing with. I wonder why E-flat seems to be the new 'E'? One guitar maker (I forget which one - there are so many!) even specifies his guitars be tuned to E-flat with 10-46 strings, which is what most of us seem to be doing now......?
Sounds great but what about the pre-tuned strings that get out of tune while tuning others?
I really hate tuning the high e string
TYSMM THAT WAS SO HELPFUL CUZ YESTURDAY I GOT IT N IM LOST...
What if you don’t have the strings tight enough to the bridge
The app did not work at all my guitar is still heavily out of tune
I have a flute...
Does it work the same?
@Levi Chicwown lmfao
the tuning is way more sensitive than i imagined you really gotta be slow and patient with it like a water tap getting the just right temperature
So like which way do u move the pegs for each string
Hahahahahaha I’ve been playing for 7 years and I still am watching this for some reason
Can you tune the guitar without it plugged into the amplifier?
Yeah
Well what is it called when you tighten or loosen the saddle screws on the bridge to make sure the guitar is in tune? Fixing the pitch of the notes? Because my strings sound in tune until I play an E chord or A chord and it definitely sounds off. I’m having trouble figuring out which strings need to be more flat or sharp…. And at first I had to loosen and tighten the tuners numerous times trying to get the intonation just right but now I’m kinda overwhelmed with figuring out how to get them where they need to be so chords don’t sound off. I’ve always tuned by ear but when it comes to the saddle screws it’s much harder trying to tune by ear by listening to a tuning video on UA-cam
When ever I try the last key it keeps mistaking it for a B instead of the high E
same
Thank you so much! I’m able to fix and auto-tune my electric guitar! 🤩
i didn’t expect it to be that easy💀 i thought u had to change it to like the song being played idk, i was just confused. THANKS FOR THE HELP!
Wait you dont?
@@PDXNova no i didnt know cuz i didnt know anything about guitars for 3 weeks ago :)
Does the Fender tuner app only work with fender guitars or it can work with any brand?
it works with any guitar
So the guitar has to be plugged in to tune it? You can't tune it without plugging it into something?
This helped a hella lot
Do you tune at pick attack or at sustain?
I got this app and it said I had tuned D, then it when back into D, AMERICA EXPLAIN?
Is the app only supported by Fender Guitars ?
hello, I just recently got my first 8-string guitar and I have no idea how to tune it using fender app. Is it possible to do so?
Great video. Thanks. Exactly what i needed.
Something better than tuning a guitar is taking a shot every time he says tune tuner tuning
I purchased yesterday. Squir by fendee. Awesome guitar. In a love with it.
Do you have any tips? Do i just keep it tuned the same way for every song?
@@thelunarcrescentvex4017 ya 90% of the songs are in standard tuning i.e. EBGDAE from down to up. So u should tune your guitar in this way only. Rest tunings acc. To the song's acceptance.
I’m trying to use the app, I hit low E and it’s reading G, try going lower and it’s reads high E
Thank you dude
This app made me break 2 of my strings! >:(
Mas0nDoezStuff why didnt you get a new pair before you break more
Donovan Olguin because my guitar was a surprise gift so my parents didn’t think of getting extra strings
Mas0nDoezStuff ok well thats an exception
Mas0nDoezStuff also if your playing on standard tuning make sure that the tuneing goes over e a d g b e you should be careful
Donovan Olguin I did and had my amp settings to full clean guitar sound with no affects and they still broke
Thanks for teaching us how to play now I know how to play My guitar!!!!!!
