How is this suit even more New 52 than Man of Steel? It actually made some sense for MoS because New 52 was what was going on in the comics at the time. But now New 52 is long gone and everyone hated that Superman. It’s probably because Gunn is buddies with Jim Lee
There’s similarities for sure but some big differences too. This suit actually has the yellow crest on the back of the cape, which is taken out in most adaptations today because it’s hard to animate and/or CG. The crest is closer to the Kingdom Come one but yellow instead of black and with a yellow outline around it to make it pop more and make the S more visible. The belt is also more classic. Though one thing this suit does worse is the collar. MAWS doesn’t have that and is better off. Otherwise this new suit is great.
2:10 Personally New 52 design is my favorite look of the character to this day. Granted, I agree the over abundance of lines can be off putting. But that suit just was peak modern Superman for me.
I think they're probably gonna remove the lines in editing. Other than the dumb collar, I love the suit. It's vibrant colors, the cape (very happy that the yellow shield is on the cape), and the S looks pretty good. Mr. Terrific's costume looks godly, man. That one had the sauce.
Worse case is they make them light up as my adventures with Superman is what WB is championing, Gunn likes mild razzing the audience. So can see them using the electric blue power set with the default look.
I love this suit, but like you said, it's weird how they got stuff so right, but some stuff so wrong, like the lines. I like the s symbol having a yellow outline. That's the one thing that lets me accept the kingdom come logo a little more.
Real Superman fan here, I like the suit. Not a fan of the collar. I can see they are going with the Shazam 2 design for Superman. A more simple, body fitting costume. Not really concerned with muscle details but it's a costume design around what looks comforting for the actor. The trunks are back and I prefer the trunks. Never really cared for Man of Steel onesie suit.
I really like the color palette. It’s nice to see that again. With that said, this Superman suit reminds me of what people wear when racing those sporty motorcycles. But it’s not going to turn me off to the movie. Still very excited. As for Lois Lane, she looks freaking fantastic!!😃 FINALLY, a Lois Lane that looks like Lois Lane! Love her in the purple.
Suit is not that bad tbh. People overreacting and until you see the finished movie, there's no point in talking shit. With that said, the fact all actors are known primarily for comedy, Cat Grant looking more like the Geoff Johns version 😅 and the general vibe from all set pics + James Gunn directing all points to a Marvel movie with a DC logo at the beginning. And if that's the case, not only a lot of people already sick of Marvel are going to tune out but also general audience will see this film as a "poor man's version" of Marvel. After all, Disney has been making that same film for more than 10 years and that customer is already hooked. If the new projects underperform or downright bomb, having like a 10 year plan of Marvel style shlock, what the fuck is Warner going to do?
Yeah your right on the money. first look it's like they took the classic and new 52 suit then meshed them. The photo you showed of the lines being taken out is just the best version of the suit. Symbol honestly could have been the 40s cartoon symbol but I like the yellow border on the S. reminds me of Superman Earth One. I wanna see Metropolis and Jimmy and how that looks. Hopefully it's not too normal of a city and they really push that city of tomorrow in some elements. Kinda Like How The Batman Did Gotham but a total 180 for Metropolis
Its clear the modern touches of this suit is what ruins it. The cape looks awesome and the the turtleneck just makes it look kinda weird from the front
Don't have much to say about the suit, but go Bobby Knuckles R1 KO! Also, did you watch (/like) Furiosa? Was kinda expecting a podcast episode but it never came haha
Dude, I was screaming at my TV in pure joy when he knocked him out! Yeah I really liked Furiosa, I think it's a step down from Fury Road but still really good. Didn't talk about it on the podcast cause Ian didn't see it but we might start the pod back up again and cover House of The Dragon.
@@TheRealComicBookGamer Yeah, you totally should! And I hope Rob gets the winner of Dricus vs Adesanya; I feel he deserves it after Paulo and now a short notice Ikram (esp. when he was practically the only middleweight who didn't dodge Khamzat...) I don't get the calls for a Strickland vs Rob #1 contender fight either; that just feels like you're eliminating one of em from the title conversation for no reason, especially when there are basically 0 other contenders rn.
I really love the suit it's really great seeing the yellow s on the back of the cape and the red trunks! Also has Jason Aaron's action comics got any better or worse?
I enjoy the suit overall, but my fear is how the filter of the movie will make it look given the reveal photo. Sometimes the costumes just look better without a certain filter, then it does with. To give an example, Henry Cavill’s man of steel suit. I felt like seeing that costume on cosplayers looks great but in the film itself of the dark and moody tone, I just wasn’t a fan
I'm still surprised they trying to make Mr Terrific a thing, like Cyborg on the Justice League it just doesn't click. Hey just don't stick like Martian Manhunter, Jon Stewart, or Vixen. I'd say steel but War Machine is still too in the MCU for someone to cry foul.
Hey do you think that sense this is already a prestablished universe does that mean the multiverse already exists sense in the comics mr terrific and Kendra Saunders Hawk girl are from earth 2 and has the justice league already fought Darkseid and the anti monitor and do you think we might be getting trilogies for some of these characters like in the mcu with ironman cap and thor antman spidey or not because James gunn has said he thinks there are too many super hero movies
Yeah the multiverse probably already exists, I don't think the Justice League of this earth has fought Darkseid yet but who knows. Assuming the movies do well we'll definitely get trilogies for some of these characters.
For me its a massive downgrade from the MoS suit which was my favourite. I dont even mind if they went full-in on the New 52 style, rather the mishmash i find ugly. The cheap texture/ material, the lack of muscle definition, the bagginess/ crinkles, the half-assed collar, the hideous trunks and belt design. Ive seen way better fanart, while keeping the suits foundational concepts.
Of everything we have seen and heard of this movie I am definitely on the fence. I don't like the fact that there are so many characters and the fact that the suit -- which we get to see it in full -- looks like cosplay if I gonna be honest. It'd too baggy and I absolutely hate that they are using the Kingdom Come logo. I do agree though that the trunks and the cape look good, they're pretty solid. The colors are nice too but to me, the suit in an overall sense looks like crap for a movie which most likely has a hundred million dollar budget. But from some things that James Gunn has said about Superman in past interviews from last year like saying Superman is a "big ol' galoot" and that he's "greatest weakness is that he'll never kill anybody. He doesn't want to hurt a living soul" is probably the biggest load of bullshit I've ever heard describing Superman. Superman doesn't want to hurt people, that's true, but it's not a weakness. I'm just really on the fence with this movie and I quite disappointed about the things I've seen and heard about this movie, but who knows, maybe James is really creating something special. But I kind of doubt it.
At least Lois look alright. The other costumes look like crap. Mr. Terrific doesn't need to be in the movie, but Hollywood is afraid to make a movie without shoving black people in our face as if we've never seen black people before. But at least its a cool actually black character and they didn't race swap for once. edit:MR. Terrific looks way to skinny and young
I really like the suit. I love it when they aren’t afraid to give heroes vibrant costumes

So they pretty much are using the "My Adventures with Superman" cartoon suit.
There’s similarities for sure but some big differences too.

i see you going for that green arrow look
HES ALIVE!!!
Just the guy wanted to see to talk about these leaks.
Its clear the modern touches of this suit is what ruins it. The cape looks awesome and the the turtleneck just makes it look kinda weird from the front
I could do without the new 52 lines, but otherwise i'm all for it!
This must be a joke
Great video, do you plan on streaming on UA-cam soon
Yeah I want to do a re-organizing my comic collection stream, might do it Saturday if I have time.
Have you seen the apparent "leak" of the storyline for this Superman movie?
Don't have much to say about the suit, but go Bobby Knuckles R1 KO! Also, did you watch (/like) Furiosa? Was kinda expecting a podcast episode but it never came haha

Also has Jason Aaron's action comics got any better or worse?
Jason Aaaron was only on Action Comics for that Bizarro arc, now we've got Gail Simone....
@@TheRealComicBookGamer oh yeah that's right! I mean she's a great writer she wrote birds of prey and the new 52 Batgirl series!
It's a bit uncanny but so are comic books. This is live action however so I'll have to delay my judgement.
Suit is a mixed bag for sure but most of the set leaks look good. Fingers crossed we’ll have a great Superman
So I think u agree with me. Bring back Christopher Reeves suit. It was perfect. Straight out of the comics. Why change a good thing.
I enjoy the suit overall, but my fear is how the filter of the movie will make it look given the reveal photo. Sometimes the costumes just look better without a certain filter, then it does with. Shit fr looks like pajamas ngl
2:41 that’s what the suit should have been and also with a more classic logo.

I mean no offense but with your new look you look like the guy I used to buy weed from in high school!
🤣
Call me a hater or whatever but that suit is God awful.
Not a fan. Hard pass.
Go read a comic casual
brother shave the mustache and beard it looks terrible, you are a handsome guy when you are clean shaved
