"Going up to Hamburg" this tune/ song reportedly come from Northern Mississippi. Thought to have evolved from a holler to a fiddle tune!!
Corrections: I'm Playing the AABB-Fox repeat solo version!!
I learn this from the great Harmonica player and performer Mark Graham when he visited the UK around 12-14 years ago.
this version covers a bunch of variations in the A and B part and is played as a Solo piece in the fox chase style.
I'm using an A diatonic harmonica in 2nd position Key of E.
Let me know how you get on and I'd love to hear your versions!!

Fantastic lesson. You're sound volumes are great now.
A heads up. On your "Remembering Harmonica Wizard"...... There is I believe misspelling (Deform). Shouldn't his name be spelt " DeFord Bailey." That's how it's spelt on the cover of David C. Morton with Charles K. Wolfe book. Revised paperback edition :2023. Country Music Foundation Press Nashville, Tennessee.
I'm looking forward to your Patreon members page, and all the great teachings you have planned.
I haven't entered to enroll yet, but I have a question. Is it possible upon enrolling that I can pay the patreon membership for the entire year rather than monthly. If not, can that enrollment option be included ?
    Cheers.

Thanks, sorted now, it was apples dreaded spell check correction doing its thing.
I’ll check the options and see if an annual membership is possible, much appreciated

Thanks for your efforts, and your own harmonica wizardry.
I'll await your findings on yearly membership before joining.
I know the feeling of that dreaded spell check. 😂.

    Great!
    I’ve just joined your patreon
I’ve got a membership called Fox chaser.
I’m new to this and a bit unsure.
There is some variation in the information about the price for membership.
Are there different levels of membership?
In that case I can’t find it.

Thanks for joining! At the moment I’ve only got one tier of membership “fox chasers” this will give access to all the lessons etc. later on I’ll extend it to include higher tiers in the future of those that might want to take some lessons etc

Hello. I have some questions about the harmonica you're playing in this video. To my ears (keeping in mind, I wear hearing aids, which is an impediment with some sounds/ frequencies at times), the single notes, and chords, and octaves sound very nice.
If you don't mind saying, I certainly appreciate your commentary on these aspects :
    1. What model of Hohner is it ?
    2. Is it Rickter tuned ?
    3. What temperament is it ?
    4. Have you customized the temperament, or changed the comb ?
My guess is it's a Special 20, Richter tuning, and " Compromise Temperament" ?
On the other hand, possibly a Crossover, Richter tuning, and " Modern Compromise Temperament" ?
But the comb is a different color I think, than the pearwood comb on a Crossover. So possibly you changed the comb ?
I know, I think too much about this stuff. 😂.
    Cheers.

      Hi,
Thanks I try to ensure it’s close to a compromised Richter tuning but with the -5draw raise to 0 cents. Usually tuned to 443hz. The chords triads have to be sweet for me.
I tend to tune my own harp, gap them but that about it
The model is a Hohner rocket rocket, I’m happy playing any Hohner that is tuned and gapped well. I’m not sure the comb makes that much audible different to the listener but it does to the user.

@@GTHarmonica Thank you so much for your time to answer my questions. Your a gentleman and a scollar. It's all very interesting to me. I'm no expert with any of the tuning fundamentals. But, asking questions and obtaining answers from experts such as yourself is extremely valuable to me. Every day is a new day for learning,
Happy days. May you walk in peace. 👍.
PS, Please let me know when you find out about the possibility of paying a yearly membership for Patreon. Cheers, from Canada 🇨🇦.

Hi, no problem at all, happy to help. I'm not at the stage where I can offer yearly membership yet, Patreon requires a set amount of income to be achieved first before they'll allow it and I'm quite a bit away from that but I'll let you know once it gets to that point.
