Guys don't worry about FICCI comment( if Financial audiors doing valuation of stock than why govt introduce inventory valuation by a CMA?). Check others comment also like PHDCCI and nbcc & GAIL . NBCC wants quarterly cost audit & PHDCCI wants mandatory cost audit of all the listed companies except small and medium enterprises. Check one more thing now cost audit not only restricted to companies , now its applicable to all entities including company. Read the summer of the report you will understand cost audit going to play a great role in future like inventory valuation under IT Act.

Those who entered CMA recently....Like foundation and inter students ( Direct entry)and Also Me...too much demotivated For this type of news..... Because they came with the dream that they would one day become CMAs ...They are studying so hard and with so much money they are studying tuition and others fees like examination and institute registration etc.what is the result at the end??
You will see the results when u work in a CMA firm. CMAs charge thousands of rupees for their certifications & declaration whether related to import export licences, certifications under GST such as rule 89(2)(m) and in costing like local content certificates. In intermediate and foundation we only see cost audits as scope I'm not denying it but there are other sources of earnings as well. You are demotivated bcz you are unaware of the scope of CMAs.

There is no need to worry about it, as this is going to effect Practicing cost accountant and not to CMA jobs.
Even there are many upcoming opportunities which are getting into effect very soon as our CMA institute working for the same.

Mere bhai, hm log bus CMA pe stuck hai esliye tmko ye lg rha hai, CMA degree plus today emerging short term skill certification like AI, power BI , SAP, etc agar hai toh hm log ko koi ahead jane se rok nhi skta.
So we should focus on upgrading our skills.

Point no 1: In CA inter they are just studying cost accounts basic and in CA final they dont study cost accounts but In CMA inter and final both we are studying cost accounts widely
Point no 2: In CA they never studied about cost audit in inter and final too

Maa'm, with due respect, there is a slight error in your analysis, with respect to monetary threshold for Product Category B. In this respect, the limit has not been decreased from Rs. 100 Crores to Rs. 75 Crores (as mentioned by you), rather it has been increased from Rs. 35 Crores to Rs. 75 Crores.
Similarly, for Product Category A, the monetary threshold limit has been increased from Rs. 25 Crores to Rs. 75 Crores (almost 3 times increase). The earlier limits of Rs. 50 crores and Rs. 100 crores have now been withdrawn.
Don't you think this will majorly reduce the the scope of profession and will be detrimental to the CMA practitioners?

But at the same time we should also look at the positive things like removal power of cost auditor will be in the hands of shareholders now & not in the hands of BOD leading to more fairness.Also no of industries coming under the purview of cost audit shall increase too
Also if a company is having only 1 product then 100cr has been reduced to 75cr for such companies

The only concerning fact is why did the FICCI even put up such a derogatory statement at the first place? This means that there is a confusion amongst the members about the CMA course.

cost audit reports are a joke, anyway. I have seen so many PSU reports 1-2 lac mai repost issue karte hai nifty 500 companies ke. I mean what are they doing, how is it even possible. it's only possible if they are doing copy-paste work. and all these cost auditors are your senior members. it would help if you guys went after all your senior members, they are only killing your profession.
