Thanks for watching! Tune in next week for my investing tips for F.I.R.E.
I hope my sarcasm about Seattle came through. We LOVE it here! It was the 3rd fastest growing city in 2019 so our housing market has shot way up! Anyways, let me know where you're tuning in from and any tips you employ! :)
Hi from New York!! I love ❤️ watching your videos and all the great information you give. I binge watch your videos I think it’s your voice am in love with 🤣🤣🤣. I enjoy the clearness and how you get right to the point of your videos. I have learned a lot from you. Thanks for all that you do and continue to do to educate other. And congratulations on your marriage and new home 🏡.
Tuning in from SoCal! Realized I was doing a lot of these without really attempting to reach fire but now I want to. I also run a UA-cam channel .
That apartment grab is totally an episode out of Seinfeld 😂❤
Really great video! As someone on the road to Financial Independence myself, it's always fun learning what's working from others on financial journeys. Love the ideas of free fun! With cities, there certainly are lots of fun things to do/see, and often times just wandering some of the free festivals is really enjoyable. Great points, looking forward to seeing more!
Absolutely! I have WAY more fun when I'm not secretly stressed about how much this fun is costing me 👍 Congrats on (nearly) reaching 1K subs! Super fast too! You just got another from me!
Great content as usual! Greetings from sunny Palm Springs CA (aka- the opposite of Seattle most of the time! ha! ) We moved here at the start of 2020 from super expensive San Francisco to save money and have better work/life balance. It's been amazing! Keep up the good work on your financial journey!
That is awesome Jory! Yes, I got lucky on filming day with some great rare September weather! I used to live in the Bay Area and yes, SF is definitely MORE expensive! Great decision you made. Thanks for sharing and for the support!!
Tuning in from Seattle! Thanks for sharing, you’ve got a new subscriber 😊
I really appreciate that. Hope you enjoyed that crazy snow last weekend!
I'm from Kampala, Uganda....Just discovered your channel yesterday and it blew me away..... great ideas on how to reduce expenses, save and invest money......Love your channel and thanks for the financial education
Wow. Thank you. I really appreciate the kind words. I'm really excited about this week's video. Should be up Friday morning my time! :) Thanks for tuning in from Uganda!
I live in Orange County CA and the cost of living is insane!
I've definitely heard that before!
LA here! thanks for this video! wonderful to hear you share your experiences with saving when the cost of living is stacked against you! 🙏
I appreciate the note! It might be a blessing to be in a big city. It practically forced me to be smart with money or go totally broke haha. Thanks again!
@@TheMoneyResolution haha truu! im also learning that staying positive and having a positive outlook can really help one take advantage of the best parts of living in the City while staying opportunistic!
Miami, FLORIDA. It’s gotten really expensive here, public transportation is very unreliable, tolls everywhere, car insurance is expensive, you need home insurance against hurricane damage but how beautiful are our almost 300 days of sunshine - priceless
My favorite things are priceless things! Like sunshine. Thanks for tuning in from FL!
Fab video, Frankie :) I'm from Durham, England which often feels like the forgotten part of the country! Some things aren't as expensive as down south, but the wages aren't as high either. I earn £10k less than the UK median household income, but still manage to make it work! 😁 Also, you can pay between £3 - £8 for a pint of beer depending where you're at :/
Ah thanks! And you're right - it's not how much you make, it's how much you save that matters most! Cheers!
From Seattle. Great content 👌 👏 👍
Let's go Seattle! (and go Hawks!)
Moved out to Whidbey Island! Love finding another Seattlite in the FI community
Hello Whidbey Island. Beautiful place!
love the video
I appreciate the note!
Metro DC Area - high cost of living all the time with no exceptions due to transient nature and the fact that there are always people here because ... jobs. No longer matters where or how far out you live, it's still a high cost of living.
Interesting! And a bummer to hear. It's starting to feel that way anywhere within 45 min of Seattle
You really should have more subscribers. Excellent content.
Really appreciate it Reju. Slow and steady wins the race I hope 🙌 But grateful for any subscribers. Can't wait to keep making more and hopefully helping more!
I agree with you let’s share this on our social media accounts 😀
Moving from NYC to Seattle, looking forward to the break on rent :)
What a change!! Let me know if you have any Seattle questions 👍
I'm considering moving to Seattle after the military. I'm from eastern Washington originally. Came to your channel to see living in Seattle but I'm liking the financial independence videos alot.
Thank you Daniel! You'll love it here if you make the move. PS: I just launched my first ever online course today! If you have any interest check it out at www.themoneyresolution.com (use code UA-cam-SAVE50 for half off!)
@@TheMoneyResolution I love talking finance to coworkers. This may be a great tool to use for them. I'm in.
AWESOME. Sending you a welcome email now!
Hi, I'm Michelle and I live in Shropshire, England x
Hello Shropshire!
Im documenting and sharing my entire journey out of debt and into FI! Cant wait to be able to max all tax deferred and tax advantage accounts!! 😓
You can do it! So important!!
Congratulations 🎉
Bro you’re so underrated
Thanks D.S.! More to come! :)
I live in Surprise Arizona right now I'm only able to save 30% of my income I'm watching your videos and looking for ways to increase that percentage keep up the good work I'm enjoying your videos and content
30% is fantastic! Awesome job!! I'll keep the content coming :)
no way ....small world !!!
Seattle here
☔🙌
I grew up around the Seattle area and enjoyed it, but after joining the military and having lived in 4 other states I can confidently say I'll never move back. It took moving to other places to realize just how insanely expensive living in a big city is, especially if one is wanting to live a "FI" life. (Not to mention the constant tax increases, homelessness problems, and rising crime).
I'm not knocking those who choose to live in a city, to each their own; I would just encourage people to consider if the pros of living in a city outweigh the cons. I am rather enjoying living in a nice neighborhood in a 4bed/3bath/3garage house for less than my rent was when in Seattle (even taking into account the money I set aside for repairs and emergencies).
Yes I totally understand this perspective. I think pros and cons lists are super valuable!
I did the geoarbitrage - moved from my capital city to a small coastal town 2.5 hours away. I am now in my retirement home early and working to retire early
Smart! And I bet the quiet small town is so much more peaceful too! Well done.
Its Moonta Bay South Australia. So hi from Down Under. Its a beautiful town.
Los Angeles, CA
Hello LA!
San Jose, California 🦈
My former home! 🙌 Beautiful city. Great people.
Greetings from Green Bay Wisconsin!
We bought our first home in July and our payment is $1179 monthly.
Plans to grow our own food,
Apply solar panels and harvest rain water are currently in motion.
To save on the grocery and health bills, we are vegan and also quit sugar. Look at the sides of everything you buy. You will be surprised what you can save.
I have an uncle there. Go Pack Go!? :) We pay double in rent, ouch! Awesome job living within your means. We grow herbs and some veggies on the deck but it would be fun to expand that. Great idea! I'm seeing more and more solar panels around here too. Very smart. Keep it up. Thanks for sharing!!
I live alone in Seattle and I pay $1100 per month and that includes all utilities, wifi, parking.
One bedroom with living room and bathroom and kitchen and small office.
Found it on Airbnb, then talked the landlord into renting it out to me full time. Month to month, no lease, can leave anytime ☺️
I live in madrona, 2 minutes from downtown, not bad neighborhood either.
I drive by the fremont troll all the time 😁 and north seattle has great restaurants and coffee shops 😋
That's awesome! What a deal. Incredible here in Seattle - especially for living alone! Nicely done. Love that Airbnb tip too!
I'm south of you in Elma Washington
Hello Elma - from Seattle! :) Thanks for watching!
2,300 just to put a roof over your head! That's highway robbery!! That's 2 Mortgages over here in Spokane, WA where tons of people are moving too. Sheesh
God bless you guys, i love Visiting Seattle, but no thanks for living. 😁
Lol, you're not wrong. We split it but still brutal. It doesn't even include basic utilities or parking. Most of my friends have moved out of here. Maybe I'll be next?! Thanks for watching :)
Hi from anchorage Alaska
I've visited Anchorage! Beautiful place :) Thanks for watching!
@@TheMoneyResolution it really is beautiful! And I love your channel so informative! Thank you
I buy most of my stuff from Facebook marquet place specifically kid’s stuff is mad expensive 😖
Smart! We just got into "buy nothing" groups. People give away good free stuff on Facebook!
@@TheMoneyResolution yea I join a week ago it’s amazing 😻
Based in Vancouver here. Crazy expensive city :/
Love Vancouver! But yes, that sounds about right :) Thanks for watching!
Why an HSA out of curiosity? Is it in the event that insurance coverage isn't the best and covers some additional expenses? Not quite sure the benefit outside of that use case?
I'm a huge fan of the HSA because of triple tax benefits, plus you can invest within it. In retirement, health care is likely to be your #1 or #2 expense. Yes, it's great for deductible and anything else sudden, unexpected, uncovered, etc. I can't remember exactly what I said about it in this video but those are my quick reasons. I also love you can pay yourself back at anytime for any medical costs you paid out of pocket. Even simple things that are eligible.
@@TheMoneyResolution I wasn't aware of the investment component.
what's your girlfriend look like? Then, tell me you save half.
Not sure I'm tracking what you mean but I hope the rest of your day gets better if you're being negative...
