This song changed my life. I was about 9-10 years old. My uncle had this cassette and played it for me. He had already gotten me into Rush, AC/DC, Priest, Maiden, stuff like that. But the first time I heard Metallica was the Justice album. And this is one hell of an opening track, and is still my favourite Metallica some 30+ years later. This version kicks some serious ass. 💪
I was about 8 to 10 years old when I first heard this song too and I specifically remember my dad had this CD that his buddy had mixed for him and I remember because at the time I was playing drums and my dad was telling me if I practice hard enough I could play stuff like this.. and this song absolutely blew me away and that was my introduction into heavier metal. At the time I was listening to like Linkin Park and stuff like that.
Funny, my dad only liked pretty much country music, but he heard one of these guys songs and said to me, the drummer is handsome and is a great drummer...Whoah, Not bad Dad !! Nice version :):)
@@KBXband Bass parts weren't all that great anyway. Jason's tone sounded like a metal slinky slapping. Just give me that cranked up kick drum right down the pipe.
The original is so much better. De-tuning the guitars doesn’t make it heavier. The vocals are flat and out of key. It’s perfect just the way it is in its original form. It’s time to move past tuning your guitar to drop zero just to be heavy. The riff is heavy or it isn’t.
Hello I just made a version of one if you wanna check it out ua-cam.com/video/IRTtGfxYjc8/v-deo.htmlsi=dNVw3SdIBurCTzU-
We need a blackened version of blackened

@@agentstanley29 great song
@@agentstanley29 …And Justice For Tom (or the lack of thereof, oh…wait-that's most of Slayer discography due to the lack of bass)
@@_PuppetMaster86 Agree. Seems the bass was shoved out of the mix after Hell Awaits.
boosting the bass would have made this EXTRA menacing. It gives the guitar some more OOMPH
We keep telling Lars and James that but they don't listen!
I've heard versions of, And justice for all with bass boosted. Makes it way tf better.
Not a Black Metal fan clearly 😆🤘🏻
A black metal version of blackened would be ice cold and freezing to see

Lars in my opinion is awesome.
@@edwardboone1599 I agree, and he's not always a rigid, mechanical drummer, cuz a lot of times he's so fluid and creative :):)
he’s no mike portnoy, but lars is great for the type of music metallica writes

Great, but I like the original.
It needs a wicked high toned snare in it. A nick hard crack every hit. Sounds like his snare eires are slmost loose? Lol!

I dunno, sounds pitch-shifted to me rather than actually being menacing
in what note is this in!?!??!?! I NEED IT
Pitch shifting a multi-decade old song is not producing content.
Why does every fan edit sound like it’s got a ton of chorus on it?
Dunno. What do you hear? I'm trying to feel the difference.
Oh hell fucking yeah!!!!!! 🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥

I'm guessing you've lifted the 40hz-200hz ?
I did lift it up but also did add reverb to make it sound a little better 👍

So the whole track including vocals is a half step down?
still no bass

Sounds like you just pitched it down to D standard which is what I play in :-)

Kinda sounds something on far beyond driven.

It isn’t more menacing because you dropped the tuning to D lol
Less menacing maybe. Great remix, but nothing beats the original IMO.
Fair enough!
how did you get that guitar tone
I Mostly just lowered it and reverb.
