- freedomon2wheel... Here are some tips for oil and oil filter change on Yamaha XT660Z Tenere 2009 model. It is very similar to oil and oil filter change with Yamaha XTZ 660 Tenere from 1996. The only difference is the volume of oil. Older Tenere takes 2.7 litres of engine oil (when replacing oil filter too) and newer XT660Z Tenere takes 2.9 litres of engine oil (when replacing oil filter too)
Very clear instructions ... no daft music or speeded up filming ... excellent and thank you
You are very welcome onenoodles.
Hi! Thanks for this tutorial.
P.S. According to the manual, mine 2013 XT660Z needs 2.5L without oil filter replacement and 2.6L of oil with.
Cheers!
👏👏👏
Great tips, thanks for sharing. I am now confident to tackle my first oil change on my Tenere.
Cheers
Thanks mate, clean and simple video, as they all should be! I'm riding '96. xtz660 and loving every second on it!
You are very welcome Vladimir. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I have had 96 model XTZ 660 for 9 years and that bike had done 172000km and is still serving to someone else now. Great machines, aren't they? :)
Amazing machines, amazing rides! And also riders.. :)
Great video. Helped me with my 2009 Aprilia Pegaso.
That's great Michael. Thanks for your comment. Stay safe.
great, thanks for the video! looking forward for any other maintenance or repair videos for this bike :) e.g. clutch replacement would be nice.
Perfect video thanks👌
Thanks for your effort and time. Will be handy when time comes!!
Is there any changes for the 1997 engine? Nice vídeo!
Thanks for your comment Nuno. The only difference is that older Tenere XTZ 660 takes 2.7litres of oil. Newer XT660Z takes 2.9litres of oil.
Very clear explanation. Thanks!
You are very welcome Herkko61. I appreciate your comment. Stay safe.
very well explained!
Well explained.
Can I ask, has your XTZ been reliable?
Hi. Thanks for your comment. I appreciate it. I have done around 23000km on this 2009 model and it runs great. I have had XTZ 660 1996 model before and had done 80 000km on that one. It was great too. What specific problems are you experiencing?
I am going to buy an XT660X (the supermoto), so I haven't got a 660 yet. In the 80s I had an XT500E and toured Europe four times on it. It will be great to have an XT again. 660s have a great reputation for reliability.
great video, thanks for sharing, keep up the good work
Cheers, very helpful !
