Whens the best time to go there to fish?? I'm out here from ny but I recently visited Nevada and loved it would love to come back again and fish it this time
They do. You have to be careful of the wind so you don't get blown 9 miles across the lake. I've only seen them on bright glassy day with low chances of the wind kicking up. Several of the worst windstorms I've been in were there.
Cui-ui suckers and Tui-ui chubs (endemic to that lake) inhabit the lake in great number and the trout have evolved to be the top predator in pyramid. You'd be hard pressed to find a better place to chase 10 pound trout in the US.
balance leeches, chironomids (especially in march and april) under bobbers work great. With the fast sinking lines, pyramid lake beetles, boobies, buggers all are staples on the lake
Such lovely fish, truly hard to believe they rescued them all from one tiny creek, all those genetics, but awesome story if true…
Oh it's Arlo !
Met him on the banks when I was fishing there for the first time. Great guy!!
Awesome video bro beautiful there

Anytime
colder weather =bigger chance of catching a monster
Want to catch a lot come when then they spawn=march
also could i use a 13 ft spey rod or a 6 wt singlehander, would that be enough
6 weight is fine. I just caught a 15 pounder last weekend with one.
How come no one floats out there?

Where's all the nuken' trout kibble coming from? Epic hatches, mass aquatic life? These are meaty trout! Does anyone know how this is happening?

Nowhere else you can line 15 guys up on a bank and fish ….. try jersey for stripers or New York for salmon or Pennsylvania for the first day of trout.
15 is a low number. You can see lines of well over 100 people on busy days. When the fish are in, everyone will be catching.
World Record LCT is 41 lbs, not quite 46. 😉
classic trout fishing, always exaggerate the size!
when you have to use gloves to hold fish cause you're afraid of the slime
It protects the slime coat of the fish. Keeps the fish healthy
Boring
