I am a guitar player and love to hear sax. Thanks for being a teacher. Europe has many good teachers and I see that in the music performance of musicians there. Good educators in music seem to be thinning out and the few good music schools here are very expensive.
Thankyou so much for this. I've been teaching myself to play sax as an adult, I didn't get to as a kid and it was something I always wanted to do. Your videos have helped me so much to understand and actually see improvement in myself.
Can you make a video of how to take care of the instrument I mean the maintenance part as I am from a remote place in India your videos are really helpful...also my Alto the open note is in d sharp is it normal
Hi, it’s a personal preference of mine, I quite like the more blended of smooth change between the B to Bb when using the biss key in a blues context. But you can certainly use the standard side A# key

Thanks so much! It’s true, music college is so expensive these days.

Can I have a tutorial on how to play “Song From My father” by Horace Silver on alto saxophone?
I will add it to the list! It’s a great tune!
Can you show me how to accompany hymns with a saxophone ?
Sure, I should do a video about accompanying singers, choirs ect soon.

Yes it’s common to be sharp at the top of the alto sax. Voicing the note down a little and not biting on the reed can really help

I prefer the front F and side A# fingering to produce the high F# on my sax. I do have the high F# key though, but prefer this alternative fingering.
Love your videos! You are an amazing teacher. I am a beginner and self taught. I cannot get my free PDF 132 for some reason? Can you help?
Sure, sometimes the email gets put in your spam folder? If not if you email me on paul@onlinesaxacademy.com I will send it to you.
Please please send me the scales for my saxophone
Sure! You can use the link in the description. Any problems just let me know.
I am wondering you are not using the side Bb key for those scales with having both B and Bb? Any reason for that?
Hi, it’s a personal preference of mine, I quite like the more blended of smooth change between the B to Bb when using the biss key in a blues context. But you can certainly use the standard side A# key
Im 11 and I play the sax, i don't know all the fingerings, could you maybe link a fingering chart in the next vid? Thanks gday
Here’s a useful link for you: www.yamaha.com/en/musical_instrument_guide/saxophone/play/play002.html
