I have made quite a few different crochet shrugs and l must say this style looks great. Love the idea of crocheting the border as you go thank you for sharing and l will be making this once my yarn turns up ❤️
I don't normally do wearables, but have been wanting to try a cardigan. Now that I've seen this shrug, I've got to do it! New subscriber with a new channel.
Thank you for sharing this. I'm not a beginner but I think you did a great job with instructions on this despite the comments from others on here. It's very simple to me and I will be making one soon. Dnt let negative people get to you..
It's a very easy project to follow. I spiked it up with a sc, hdc, dc and I skipped two chains instead of a hdc on every stitch and it came out very glamorous. I can't wait to make more with you.
This was a fun project and so easy. It took me 3 days of relaxing crochet to complete. Because it runs small, I used the 2xl directions and it came out great! Thanks for the pattern and tips💙
Yay!!! I'm SO happy you like how this turned out. And I'm glad you heard the sizing suggestions because this runs small. Thank you for taking the time to let us know how it turned out.
@@CrazyCoolCrochet I know my daughter will love it, too. She chose a solid hunter green yarn which will go with much of her wardrobe. Now I’m going to peruse your channel for something else to make.💙
I just love your patterns Sylvia! I purchased another one recently. You give great instructions! Can’t wait to make this one over the weekend! It’s perfect for an event I am going to!
Just saw this and had to reply right away because you plan to make it soon. Yay! Anyway, please know that this design does run small. If you want it a little roomier, please work up the next larger size. My tip of the day. LOL
I just wanted to come back and let you know I made this beautiful shrug, and I made it in 2XL just so that I can have an oversized cozy shrug and I wore it yesterday to a family get together and everyone loved it. I can post it for you in your social media so that you can see. Thank you so much it was fun and easy and will definitely make another one.
This makes me so happy to hear. Thank you for taking the time to let me know. If you would like, you can post your make on my Facebook page: facebook.com/crazycoolcrochet1/
I'm so happy to hear this! Just remember, I mention this in the video, this shrug runs on the small side. Move up to the next larger size if you want it a little wider and a little longer. Enjoy! And Happy Birthday to your daughter!
@@CrazyCoolCrochet thanks for the tip! I watched the video and probably will again several times to check my work against yours. I’m looking forward to the finished product. Thanks, again!💙
I'm just getting back into crocheting since I retired. Luv this shrug (and all the beautiful tops in your shop). I really like the feel of that yarn Would you please help me determine approximately how how many skeins of that yarn I need for a large.
I'm so happy you like my designs. As I said in the video, more detail is in the description area below the video. 19.5 ounces / 975 yards / Add 3 additional ounces per each size larger or 150 additional yards per each size larger.
I can't believe that someone accused you of being rude. The amount of videos, either crafting or cooking, where the same question appears over and over again. Even when you answer the question it pops up again a couple of comments later. I think "hells bells" have you not just watched the video or listened to a single word that's been said or looked through the comments.
I HATE THE SEAM UNDER THE SLEEVES SO FOUND A SOLUTION TO IT. I crochet a shorter rectangle, just the height of the sleeve openng circumference. I fold the rectangle in 2 like you did and continue in pattern around and around, connecting the 2 sides. I work as many rows as I want for the length of the shrug to be. VOILA, NO UGLY SEAMS. In some patterns it is hard to hide the seam under the sleeves because the pattern does not line up nicely so it looks ugly to me. With my way there is no seam at all, it is made in one piece. TRY IT. You had a great idea to make the band in one piece with the body I will do it too from now on. THANK YOU.
Thank you so much for this tip. I'm having a hard time picturing how to do your version. You still need to join at the point where you fold the panel to form the sleeves right? I'll need to try this soon!
@@CrazyCoolCrochet Maybe I did not explain clearly. I made a rectangle the same width as yours (from sleeve to sleeve) but the height of it was the size of the sleeve opening that I wanted Now I folded this rectangle as you did and had the 2 sleeves on its sides. From there I continued crochet in same pattern. Row 1 crochet along 1 panel, continued the 2nd panel and slst. to close this row. The rest I did the same as row 1 knitting as many rows as I needed around and around until my height was achieved. When opened , it looked like your shrug but without the seam. I got the idea from knitting upside down sweaters.
@@leah3084 This is where I get stuck (in my head): "From there I continued crochet in same pattern. " I get what you did to the point where you fold the panel and sleeves are formed. I don't get how you just keep going after it is folded. Doesn't it need to be attached to itself at the sleeves? I either need to see you do this in a video or I need to try it myself.
As I said in the video...the detail is in the description area below the video. Medium #4 weight / 19.5 ounces / 975 yards. Add 3 additional ounces per each size larger or 150 additional yards per each size larger.

Thank you for your feedback. There is a written pattern as I say in the video. I didn't say I don't like "so many questions". I said there are so many questions asked that have the answer right at the beginning of the video. If those folks would watch the video they would have their answer right there thus eliminating the need to wait on me to answer again. And I do answer them anyway. Thank you for watching.
Lady, don’t be rude or ugly. People ask questions because they don’t all learn on the same level. Some I’m sure are beginners. Just appreciate that someone is even watching your videos. So just answer the questions patiently and don’t assume everyone is the same by say how they keep asking questions! I won’t recommend your channel!
Whoa. The last thing I intended was to be rude or ugly. I did say with all sincerity that I love getting questions and comments. I was only referring to the questions that clearly showed the commenter did not even watch the first two minutes of the video because their answer is right there. You cannot imagine the amount of work that goes into these tutorials only to have viewers not actually watch before asking their question. I am one to drop everything I might be in the middle of to respond to a comment. I am nearing 70 years old with chronic health issues caring for my elderly parents AND running my crochet business. That is where my frustration comes in when someone doesn't watch the video before asking the question. Again, in no way did I intend to come off rude.
@CrazyCoolCrochet Sylvia, you're not rude at all.. I've been one of those silly people that needs to be reminded of watching step by step, before asking!!😂 Some may not understand that. Don't be discouraged, you've always done a great job explaining 😊 Keep up the good work!
@@pamculver7138 Thank you so much for this. I did second guess myself when I made the comment and I ended up deleting some of what I wanted to say. LOL. And really, I'm not bothered by questions that maybe the answer doesn't appear until the middle or later. It's the pesky "how many chains to start?" when that is given right at the start. Sorry...I'm going off on a rant again. I appreciate you so much!
