Thank you... love your teaching!!! I see this is filmed At Chico university. Had to call my grandaughter she is a sophmore there this year.. so cool!!!
I was wondering if there are best colors of glazing depending on what genre is being painted. Is there a best color to glaze for landscape vs portrait? Etc...
Michelle, you mentioned in your own work that you use layers of glazing. I’m finding it difficult to get an explanation of this process. I wonder do you have a video, or any suggestions on this technique. I love the look of multi layered work, but don’t know how to do it. Fairly new to all of this. Thank you for your video 😊
Hello Sam! I do have a video on that. I will look it up for you and link it. I will say that it was in the early days of the channel when I was teaching in colleges, and I would simply have a student hold the phone while I lectured and demonstrated. So it won’t be a class per se on glazing, but it will hopefully have you understand the history and purpose of glazing so that you can better experiment on your own.
You may also want to go to my channel and navigate to the playlist section. I’ve organized many of the videos in various playlists, that might be helpful to you.
Eric Hogan So sorry! This was done on the fly and the person who volunteered to film it was the professor and she was seated far away. Next time, I'll ask my volunteer to sit a little closer. I will be uploading a new video on glazing with better sound in the next few weeks. If you subscribe to the channel they will let you know when it comes out. Thanks!
I was sick this week and while I was resting in bed, I took a couple of hours and transcribed the whole talk. Hope this helps. Unfortunately I have no control over where youtube puts the text or the size of the letters and the black background now blocks a lot of the video. I tried, but not sure if it's more helpful or less.
Also, thanks for telling me about the captioning. I did not know about how that worked and when you mentioned it I looked into it. Glad at least this one video will be available to the deaf community and those for whom English is a second language and could benefit from the written word.

You are welcome. I was sick in bed this week which gave me time to answer some comments on the channel and also to put some captioning on this video. Unfortunately the way they place the text also blocks part of the video - especially the part where I am mixing and painting. Not sure if this made it better or worse.
love your voice, its calm and gentle and non judgemental. makes me feel very comfortable, which helps me learn quicker. thankyou so much.
You are amazing Michelle thanx for your class ...so generous of you ...
So kind of you to say. Thanks for watching.

You are welcome! Thanks for your nice comment!
enjoyed this and your teaching approach! thank you for sharing
An extremely good communicator.
That's very kind of you.🙂
Thanks Michelle. Glazing has baffled me so far, but this clarifies a lot for me.

These are very helpful instructions for acrylic. Thanks.

I hv found when working with acrylics you hv to add additional color either when very wet still or when completely dry
Looks good Michelle!....Jean
this was very helpful, thank you so much!
Glad it was helpful!
How is this glaze compare with oil glaze? Any visual difference?
Cool demo. Thanks!
Lovely
Am trying to find out what materials can you use as glazing medium?
Michelle,
once gesso is applied to the canvas, how soon can I start to paint?
24 hours later.
Funny the last question about highlighting is exactly what I needed to know as I'm about to touch up a model.
hi
do u have any teaching sessions in Canada - Mississauga ?
What is your favorite glazing brush for acrylic paint?
The sound is very low. It would also be good to have captioning.

+Michele Theberge For some reason, my captions have changed from white letters on black to grey on black and barely any contrast so hard to read!
Too far from the camera for UA-cam? I can't really see what is being done properly.
the volume is very low..i already set my comp volume and youtube volume highest.

thanks for your response and putting thought into it, Michele. I really appreciate it. I will make sure I subscribe to your channel. :)

What about using water?
Lily Raimey wwater is great, use lots of it to glaze several layers
Can’t see anything!
Very very low volume!
This is like kindergarten standard. It tells budding artists nothing. A total waste of time.
