- IMM 0008 is the first form we are filling in this video series. We have addressed all common issues such as document expiry dates, which address to be filled, saving the webforms as PDFs, etc.
This video is to guide you all who wants to fill IMM 0008 form without any confusion.
I am not any authorized or licensed IRCC official. I sponsored my wife to Canada recently , and this is how I filled my form IMM0008. My wife bacame PR in 2022.

Hi, I am in Canada and I came as a student in 2019. I got married to my partner in 2023, who is Canadian citizen,so I am applying for spousal PR. I have applied for My work permit extension and I have not received it yet, So what Should I write the expiry date on the work permit section and the UCI number too? Do you have any video on Inland family class?

I have aquestion me and my husband( canadian) live out side canada for the last 10 years and we have a child togather our son had canadian citizen before. Before our merriage i have a son but my husband legaly addopted him and applied for canadian citizen we sent part one my mail and we received AOR letter then to continieu part 2 we sented the documents outboard 8months letter. But we didn't get any answer from them. Now he went to sponsor us what yuo suggest us pls? Am attending your vidios. We lived out side canada what must be his mailing addres on the form tnx
Hi, do you know how to edit name in IMM0008? Because i did’nt put my middle name that’s why. By the way, it is not yet submitted to ircc i just need to edit my name. Because if you will click it, you can’t change it. Thanks
Thanks for the info, just my comment if your wife as main applicant, then you have to choose add dependent for you. Then you fiil all your information.
Should the applicant fill spouse info, who is a PR in Canada under dependent section

If you're talking about Applicant Details and Addresses, that is because those are to be updated in the 'My Profile" section.

Hello, In the form there is a point ( Have you ever used any other name), In most of the document I use the first name only and did not used the last name. So should I leave this column empty for should I write my first name in this column. Please reply me as soon as fast.

Generally people write the name same as appearing in their passport. If you don’t have any last name l, i think you need to leave that blank. But I am not sure. Thanks

Hi for the “residential address” since I’m living in canada as an international student, should I put my address where I live in the Philippines or should I put my address in Canada?
If you are applying for an inland application, I guess your Canadian address should be filled.
Can you advise how you saved these web forms as pdf's? You didn't mention anything about that in the video even though description of the video says you will show how to save them. W
Thanks for watching. My bad. To save the digital webforms you just need to press Control P from your windows computer or command P from your macbook. You need to do this for all the sections/pages for your webform. Save them as pdfs to your computer for your reference only. Dont upload any of that.

It should be sponsor Canadian address, because if any correspondence need to be sent by IRCC, they can send easily to a Canadian address.
When the spousal application offline, and if IRCC returns any incomplete application, they used to return the application on sponsor's Canadian address.

Does this form have to be signed. If so can you advise where to sign? I can't seem to find the place to sign or a barcode 2D also. Thank you these videos are so helpful.

Imm008 doesn't have any barcode. Its only imm1344.
Imm008 will require your digital signature, which has explained in the video.

What else can I choose for personal identity document, or I may click no does it have any issue. I am already in Canada from last few years.
Hello. Personal identity document is your passport.
If you are asking for National ID, then it is generally the aadhar card. But if you dont have aadhar card, i think we can give driving license too. But mostly everyone has aadhar card.

Hello can you please tell me when you submit this form, and how do you do it? After filling out the form i tried to subit it using the Ready to Submit button, but it did not work.
Hello thanks for watching. The ready to submit button is not a button, its a green sign which tells you that your form has been completed/uploaded.
And when you scroll down you will see space to attach the various proofs and at the bottom you can see the button to move forward.

I am filling form IMM 0008 under pgp online. I have to change address in contact information that i saved already. But i am unable to edit address anymore as i have to choose different residential address than mailing address. Before i chose residential address same as mailing address. Please help.
I think IRCC has disabled the edit mode recently for some of the sections but it could be due to the technical glitch as well. Not sure what to do in this case :(

Hello, thanks for watching. I think you should mention Yes for this. and mention your maiden name as your past name. and along with that, write an explanation letter to IRCC saying that both are same person, and you have changed your name after marriage. Attach 2 documents minimum to show your old and new name. Plus, you may get the same name affidavit, I am not sure about this.
and I think you need to write your name same as passport throughout your visa application to avoid any confusion.

Hi i am filling the contact information section of IMM 008 and this section is getting auto populated using the information on MY PROFILE . so this area is getting filled as my wifes address in India. Can some one guide me on how to do this?
You can use the Profile Page section to update/edit/remove the address information. Hope this helps!

I am not sure about this. Generally people from India enter their aadhar card details here. Or Driving Licence or Voter card could be an option too.
We do not have to fill this form in Adobe (PDF)? or we can directly fill in the portal itself?

Our adhar card doesn’t have any issue date on it so what should we write there
Hello, thanks for watching. In that case, I would write 01/01/(year when it was issued). And explain this in your letter of explanation with scanned copy of aadhar on it.
Even my old aadhar (2010) didn't had any dates, but I renewed my aadhar in 2021, so now it has issue date.
If you are not okay with it, go to any aadhar center, and apply for a new card. New aadhar would have the issue date. It may take 7 to 10 daya to get new aadhar. But you can ask the person there.

You can write N/A or unemployed. Dont leave blank there. Spouse need not to be working to be sponsored for PR.

Can we use Indian passport as national identity document?
Hello, thanks for reaching out. If you do not have the aadhar card, then you might use any other official documentation but you need to provide a proper explanation that why you do not have the aadhar card.
If your current aadhar card has wrong name, date of birth or any old address, its better to update the aadhar and use that.

I made a mistake on the application so they asked me to refill and something, but I'm unable to enter new information for family name the first two requests are blocked out
I am so sorry to hear this. Sometimes there are bugs on website. By any chance could you try reaching out to IRCC? Only they could help. That’s crazy, I have heard the same issues from others too. :(
