The beauty of Greece 🇬🇷 is magical 💙💙
A Greek island with no car rental or scooter rental is a blessing. Having been to Donoussa last year and also this year, I'll go back next year.
loving this Greek series!! thanks for sharing!!
Excellent, glad to hear it.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Great opening sequence: islands roll call; cave diving; narrative shift (2 days earlier)...Good stuff.
@@davedeal9152 Glad to hear it. ✌
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I had meant to emphasize that the musical mix & modulating volume blended with action shots & narrative dialogue was quite effective.
Kalimera from South Africa, recovering from shoulder operation and watching this at 0457. Thank you! Greece is my favourite country to visit and your videos allows me to see unexplored pieces and places of this country.
I’m so glad you’re back in Greece and showing us all those wonderful small islands and what they have to offer!!
What Greece has to offer is 'horiatiki'. If you don't know what that is, look it up ;-)
@@PaulaBean AND THE BARBERIANS OFFER ALL THE ATHER,DEMOCRASY,ATHLETICS,THEATER,ALPHABET,SCIENCE,AND MORE....
Yeh back to the greek islands Love it
Cool, glad to hear it.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos maybe one day who knows, you will end up in a little place of your own on a greek island
Love the Greek content, definitely wanna visit Greece one day. Greetings from the Netherlands.
Yeah, much better back in Greece😉
Do it mate from Amsterdam😂
ga dan
Real nice to see more Greek Islands! Cheers!!
I love rocks too. There is just something inviting and warm about the history of building with rocks, no matter which country. Love what you are doing, Gave, and how you present history and current events and lifestyles. ❤❤
Sorry to hear your leaving the Greek islands I have been looking forward to your videos I haven’t missed any of them 🙏👏👏🏴
Welcome back to Greece Gabriel!
I always enjoy your videos and especially your exploration spirit that drives you to visit each part of the islands that you go!
This is why I will “invite” you to explore Evia sometime soon. Evia is the 2nd largest Greek island after Crete. It is truly an underestimated gem that not so many tourists, even Greeks, know about, even if is very close to Athens! You can visit Evia by boat or even by car, since it’s connected with mainland via a bridge in Chalkida.
Evia is the 6th largest island in the Mediterranean Sea. It has large mountains (Dirfi at 1,743m), forests, canyons, waterfalls, majestic views, castles, small villages, archeological ruins, museums, mountain trails for hikes, rock climbing sites, too many beautiful beaches, caves, hot springs, monasteries and many places to explore that you cannot cover in just one visit, believe me!
Evia also has a significant ancient history. Greek & Western civilization alphabet for example originates from that island. Settlers from Evia went to Italy and created major cities influencing the locals in various ways. There are still villages in Calabria Italy that locals speak a Greek dialect today. But I will not tell you more... I just hope that I’ve triggered your exploration interest, so I will let you research by your own and find out many more things about Evia…
If so, I’ll wait to see your exploration video to see where you will start exploring from :)
Keep exploring man and have fun :)
01:10 The water is so clean that there are sea urchins. They thrive in clean sea water.
Welcome back to Greece, even though you never left. Donousa looks awesome… Less people is MORE!!!
Ha, thanks. It's good to be back.
New subscriber here, I’m sure one of many after your Greece series. They won me over Gabriel. What an absolutely beautiful country!
Right on, glad to hear it, thanks for subbing. ✌️

Thank God back to the Greeks vids again.😁
You definitely suit being clean shaven, Gabriel. It knocks years off you. Lovely little Island ☀️⛵😇
So happy to see your Greece videos back in the lineup. There’s just something special about Greece and her captivating isles. Enjoy your travels Gabriel!
Donousa is etymological derived from the verb Δονέω (doneo-vibrate), due to its volcanic origin & the many Eddies (ρουφñχτρες-suckers) that surround her!
I spent a few days in Donousa in 2021. Charming little island. In my opinion the best beach was the one at the port.
20:30 July and August are also in the Netherlands a period of high season. I had to reserve my camping spot on a Dutch island (Schiermonnikoog) months in advance.
I love Greece. !!❤❤
❤ great cinematography, saludos ❤
Hi Gabriel, another amazing Greek island the water looks beautiful, relaxing, and inviting. The bike needs adjustment and some DW40 would be an effective way of quieting those squeaky noises. It's a shame there aren't any bike shops, no demand for these islands, it's just a practical way of getting around.
Beautiful island in Tour de Greece. Thanks for showing us this wonderful island. 🙏
You must be superfit with all the biking and hiking well done
After watching you cycling around the Greek islands I decided to clean up my BMX and have a cycle myself, it's hard work without gears and being in my 50's too lol.
Good plan.
hey Tribalfusion, I work at a bike shop, and I encourage you to check out some new hybrid bikes, they have wonderfully smooth gearing, and are very light weight and may encourage you to get out more on trails and roads!
@@SkySpiral8 Actually I prefer BMX bikes, easy to maintain and I only ride on warm UK summer days
Hi Gabe, thank you so much for showing us beautiful island. Ba safe, chaos
Welcome to Donousa - my favourite Greek island at the moment. I'll be back there at the end of August. Looking forward to the next video. Your best plan is to hike to Kalotaritissa (that's a mouthful) and get the bus back.
Love your Greek Island videos. I have a couple of questions. It looks like most of the islands are dry, how do the people get water to drink? Have you seen any solar power or wind power? What do you plan to do with your bike when you leave? It would be great transportation for some island boy or girl. I am sure one of the churches or police stations could help with a needed child. Thanks again for your Greek Island videos. Can't wait until your next adventure.
The needs of the Cyclades are currently covered mainly by desalination units, making the transport of water by water carriers a thing of the past, through expensive contracts with private companies. Aqueducts are used only in emergency situations. 51% of the population in the Cyclades drinks desalinated water, secondarily from underground water bodies and a small part from surface sources (all figures are from the National Operational Plan for Drinking Water). In the Cyclades, 39 desalination plants, large or small, operate, while another 17 produce drinking water in the Dodecanese. Six desalination plants operate in the North Aegean Region, as well as a refinery in Mytilini.
@@Gk-ug6gu Thanks
The Cyclades is the driest group of Greek islands but the most famous among tourists (Mykonos and Santorini belong in this group) The Sporades islands for example are totally different, covered with pine trees and olive trees.
But you look so young and handsome clean-shaven. Another satisfying adventure, thanks.😊
Wonderful... I.... ❤. Donousa.
I was visit this place before years...
Good afternoon from Arizona. 105 degrees today
Gosh, Magical footage, knocking it out of the park, on this extended Greece series.
How much is the ferry between islands? Are you just doing 1 night every island? As far as islands you’ve been to what is your favorite hidden gem?
Ferry prices vary a lot depending on the ship and the distance, but going between these little islands is really cheap, less than 10 euros. I've been staying for 3-5 days on each island.
Love it Gabriel 😀 😎☀️🌊❤️
1st? I'm staying in the hostel you stayed at in amsterdam but a canal cube. Ty for that video not a bad hostel at least it's close to the station
I thought it was a tiny island, didn't expect it to have huge mountains like Irakleia. I have a friend who has a house by the way in Donousa
Very dynamic video, I liked it
Man I want to eat a gyros so bad, but I don't know why
Bro, WD-40 works on anything. you may have a problem using your brakes, but hey no noise and you get to the water faster. :)
Τhe island where Dionysos hide Ariadne, to prevent Theseus find her according to Greek mythology.

Good morning Gabriel 🌞!! Since you are in Donousa 🏞and you'll go to Koufonissia 🏝 , you should go to Schinoussa 🏖 too it's on your way and it's a great chance !! 🌄🌅

WOW great dive! I'll tell ya the Red Sea around south of Sharm el Sheikh is really the best in the world for free dive snorkeling. Great show again!

I did wonder if you had gone to Malta. Makes sense now

I kind of figured you were just catching up on the Malta 🇲🇹 videos. No beard again 😊
😍
sweet place!!! good look with a shaven face
1:58 that's a nice Full Moon you've captured there. It must have been around 21:30 when you filmed that (according to Stellarium).
That sounds about right, dinnertime in Greece.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Yeah, in southern mediterranean countries people tend to eat later than in the more northern European countries. I wonder why that is: maybe because of the afternoon heat. Anyway, I like to eat late too. Even in winter 😁
@@PaulaBean in greece most families have a big meal at around 14:30-15:00. at home. classic greek home kitchen you will not often find in restaurants, especially in tourist areas. mostly local kitchen. you'll be amazed by the diversity of local food exists in such a small country. in my family and most others i know, this early afternoon meal is the most important of the day. dinner is often lighter (when at home). in tavernas and restaurants at night (after 21:30-22:30) most greeks not going to eat but to socialise, listen to music, dance, drink etc. thats why the mezedes (small dishes that people share in their table) are so popular in the greek tavernas with locals. thats not only for summer, its about the same in winter too. at 21:00 most greeks drinking coffee lol.
@@ikosmargaritis9749 Thank you for your explanation. It probably shows that our eating times are very much culturally influenced. Having dinner at 15:00 is a total surprise to me! 🤪
@@PaulaBean Yes, afternoon heat for sure. It's still hot at 7 or 8 in the evening, especially in the summer so it's much nicer to go to a restaurant after the sun has set.
👍👍👍
Cool little island. Can't wait to get back to the Cyclades. Unsolicited little tip, not sure if you're aware. There are regular gyros (with pieces of fat included which are shaved off the slowly turning slab of meat) and there is the premium seasoned skewered meat which I personally tend to prefer. To get the latter, you have to request KALAMAKI - which means "straw" but is understood metaphorically as the long pointy stick on which the skewered meat is grilled. After the meat is grilled, it is then removed from the skewer and wrapped in pita bread. So if you wanted chicken like that, you would say Kalamaki me kotopoulo. Just FYI for anyone who's interested.
👍
i am planning on going to Greece in may and june in 2024 , is it easy to find rooms a few weeks in advance or should i book a room before i leave
Yes, it will be very easy to find rooms even a day in advance in May and June. You can book them whenever you want, a few weeks before or a few days before. The second half of June is when it will start to get busy.
Very envy your lifestyle Gab. How on earth can you afford to travel non-stop? can you please share I would love to do long term traveling just like you :)

It's because the camera is slightly wide angle, so it films with a fisheye effect.

Exactly.
Still ain't raised your saddle, you'd find cycling so much easier if you did.

Is it Norway your going to?
I'm hoping to go there, but probably not my next country.
Ahh it must be Switzerland or Austria 🏔️

Gabe, how much did you say you paid for that bike, are you sure you didn't get taken by a Greek?
300 euros.

Maybe you got an older model
@@Don_Juan99 Possible, not sure. He said it was normally 380 euros, so he gave me a discount. That's good to know though, sounds like I paid a fair price for it.

Boom, got it.
How I was so close lol
Why bother buying a bike, you've hardly used it. Renting car's and scooter's most of the time 🤷
I've only rented vehicles a few times, mostly used the bike.
Every Greek island looks the same. The landscape doesn’t change much. It’s getting kind of boring.
Every Greek island? ... Those Greek island! One from another are only 10, 20...max 30 km far away of course in your eyes look the same but they aren't. Look Gabriels eyes and mood and maybe you'll understand
Love you Gabriel but jeez man, bore off with Greece
