Nice video, I would add this: - Don't sell the "hearts" (of trolls/cyclops/behemoths), they're used to brew attribute potions with dark elex. - Use the "mark as scrap" function in the inventory menu for obsolete gear, the game keeps memory of them, the inventory is less cluttered and you can sell them all at once to merchants. - Abuse the the custom markers on the map, especially for chests you can't unlock yet, you'll easily find them later on when you meet the skill requirement. - Pickpocket nameless NPCs especially when they're asleep, quick save before your attempt and prioritize taking their weapon, it's a relatively easy way to acquire rare weapons (shotguns, laser rifles...), from my experience named characters are impossible to pickpocket even with maxed out pickpocket skill (I might be wrong on that). - Gemstones can be combined to create more powerful ones, they can only be used with melee weapons. - Some items are best sold to specific NPCs, pelts (or leathers I think, don't recall how the game names them) can be sold to Astrid the Berserker and servo motors to Ivika the Morkon. - Shooting red barrels/canisters is a great way to wipe out an enemy camp if you're too low level to face them, keep your distance though, the explosion will kill you if you're too close. - Energy weapons will shoot continuously if you keep the attack button pressed. - Don't know if this is the case with controllers but with kb/m, Jax will dodge AFTER you release the dodge key not when it's pressed, it can interfere with your timing especially at the beginning. - Enemies recover to full health if you move far enough, be aware of that of you invested a lot of time/ammo to kill a beast just to find it at full health.
Named Characters can be robbed, but it's harder. It took me 20 tries to get the weapon from Thialg. It was a bit easier to get Reinholds. I managed to steal a damaged Judicator Blade from Reinhold in one game and in another he had a damaged Saviour. I also took the weapon off of Ivan. In one game he had a Capatin's Sword in another a Captain's Axe. That suggests that the weapon is randomly generated from a specivic pool either at the start of the game or when you enter the cell the NPC is in. Some NPCs might only ever spawn with one weapon.
Great video - very professionally done. One thing I will add is, the importance of pockpocketing. I know, I know - it's a skill I never bother with in any other RPG, but in Elex II, it will soon become your primary means of not only making money, but finding those damaged weapons to bring to a crafting table to make whole ones, and then enhanced. Typically you need three damaged weapons to create a whole one, and my GOD you will find two of everything, but that third is like the holy grail. Pickpocketing will, many times, get you that final third damaged weapon to create a much more powerful whole. Pro tip - Xander at the crater has a damaged lead spreader you can lift from him - it was the only way I could find a third to complete a whole one. 🙂
I love this and part 1. Bought the first from the Xbox store for under 10$, played that and loved it so I bought this one for 59$, absolutely worth it. I just joined the berserkers for magic
I was a Cleric in the first game and loved using the Psi Black hole glove thing. I like that the clerics are more chill in this one but they only have 2 skills to learn. The others have so many more, and better ones. It’s the only reason I’m not joining them. Might go with Beserkers even though Albs seem to have the best learnable skills.
Thanks Carry. These basics will be very helpful and dont feel detrimental to a blind first playthrough. Your content got me playing and enjoying ELEX, and has the sequel on my watchlist. Really appreciate your aforementioned focus on quality. Which you also discussed in, I believe, your ELEX video on getting the suit in an hour - something along the lines of you were frustrated by currently available content, so decided to make your own to help others
You’re very welcome my friend! Yes, that’s exactly why I decided to start creating content. It’s a big learning curve for me, but I’m genuinely enjoying making these videos and try to always find a way to make improvements with each one I release. Thank you for all the support! It means a lot to me :)
Fantastic video! Thanks a lot! Super informative! Your voice, intonation, and speed were really easy and enjoyable to listen to. I'll definitely check out more of your videos!
The fact that retros stop you from dying but do nothing to prevent you from simply losing HP is fine with me because I've smacked the ground so hard and fast that it corrupted my save
There is something else that I've noticed. I have the basic shotgun, which is enhanced and has 130 damage. I've also got level 3 of ranged weapons and also ranged specialist, and powder, which improves shotguns, and it makes this thing a monster. I can take down trolls with 6 or 9 shots. I've got a double barrel shotgun that shoots 4 shots instead of 3 for reloading and has 210 damage. It takes more shots with the more powerful shotgun to take down a BIG opponent. I can't reach that other shotgun that is supposed to be so good on top of the tallest building, but I can't imagine it's much better than the basic one. Might be something to look at that might make an interesting video.
Very interesting, i have not made it up there yet, I will have to check it out, as my next planned video will be showing how to be over powered very early on :)
@@LegendaryCarry After I left this comment, I made it up there and that shotgun seems a little more powerful, and it's great that it has to re-load after 6 shots instead of after 3. It does seem to be more powerful than the first shotgun, but not 3 times like the stats would indicate.
Probably play it after Forbidden west. Looks like improvement over the first one . I liked the first even with the flaws. The biggest thing that piss me off was the bugged map, when it slowed down.then you had to restart the game after 2 hours.
I am going for a ranged and magic build, but so far ranged seems very underpowered, no crits, no gems on ranged weapons, and less damage overall. Don’t want to start over, but feels like I’m missing something…
Great video! Learned a couple of things for myself, but I still don't understand how stacking(dodge"edit") works on the jet pack. I don't have a prompt when I learn the skill, and I've gone over all the keys in the air. I play on the PС, so tell me what that key on the controller is responsible for?
Hey, Thank you for the comment :) For the Jet pack, if it's upgrading the fuel that you asking about, when looking at the jet pack at a work bench you'll see two fuel can icons at the top. The one on the bottom called "additional tank" is what you need to buy in order to install and expand your fuel capacity with the extra tanks you find throughout the game. It will cost 1 skill point, 500 Elexit and requires 25 Intelligence. Once you have purchased the addition tank skill, then you can freely add fuel cans to the top icon called "Fuel Capacity". This won't cost anything, so once you have found or bought a couple cans, make sure you visit the work bench to add them in. (The max is 50) - I believe when playing on PC, you'd just hover your mouse over the icons to highlight them, and then a left click to complete the skill purchase or adding of extra tanks. I play on PS5, for me the X button is what is used. Hopefully you've figured it out! Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner
@@LegendaryCarry Haha, I reread this post three times before sending it, but still made a mistake in the most important place xD I was referring to the dodge mechanics. 3:55 - I can see how you dodge in the air, but I still haven't figured out how to do it myself.
@@syressx9098 oh! Haha. I recall that it was the same as a dodge when on the ground. On PS5 it was Circle while holding the direction I want to dodge to with the joy stick. As the air kick I do, same as kick when on the ground and no shield is equipped, for myself that was R1 bumper
If anyone has the same problem as I do: In "control" turn on evade(x2) and then press the evade key several times in the air. Either move or ctrl and it will work properly.
Hi ! Im the only own they know this, in the Story trailer THQ NORDIC GMBH show Ragnar but where is he nobody find him and in trailer is the Baby smal but how fast has he grown?
I've never died from Fall damage even when zero health I just continually fall and not die I wonder if that has anything to do with playing on story difficulty
Good video. The only thing that does not seem to work for me is pressing the button to collect before getting to a pile of stuff. I still have to wait until I get there, and press the button once for each item. (PC might be different) The rest of this is good stuff. Thanks. Have you figured out what the slot on the inventory tab next to your head is for? I think it's called specialization. I haven't found anything yet to put into the slot.
Yes, that slot acts like the amulet one from the first game. The best one I like to use is called “The Reaver specialization” and it’s +1 to both lock picking and pickpocketing
@@LegendaryCarry Great. I haven't run across ANY of those yet. Might be a good video to show where some of them are and what they do. I really miss the powerful add ons from Elex that gave strength and dexterity.

Hey, so on PlayStation my settings will remain saved upon quitting and loading back in. So that must be a bug! That’s terribly unfortunate, I would certainly be frustrated doing that every time. If this was just when you decided to start a new game I had a suggestion to help, but sadly I think yours is bugged out :(
@@LegendaryCarry well cool, at least if someone gets this information to them they'll realize we box users have an issue.
