- Let's take a walk on the wild side! Out in the forest just a short ways from home, I am searching for the perfect pinecones! You have to hear these amazing sounds of crunchy pine straw underfoot and those snapping twigs and of course, the crinkly paper bags. But best of all is the sound of the pinecones themselves...such beauty and delight to the eyes and the ears! Join me on this beautiful trek on this beautiful day.

If you could find the little pine cones you can make some pine cone cider jam. It's very good. The ones to find are not open and are about an inch or less. Probably have to pick them off the tree. There's lots of recipes if you google it. Just a little FYI.

I just love seeing the green pine trees and they are actually my favorite trees especially around winter time when they have snow on them 😄😄 I can't wait to see how you decorate your house with the pinecones. I never in my life had seen huge pinecones before. It was very interesting to see for the first time. You could also put a cinnamon scent on them to make your house smell remarkable for the Holidays. I love buying scented pinecones for the Holidays they smell so so good.

Those incredibly long cones belong to sugar pines! If you smell the bark it smells like cupcakes 🙂
Oh I know! I just found out a little while ago. I thought so. Anyway, the Ponderosa Pine also has that sweet vanilla smell in the bark. I have one in my backyard and it's heavenly! 😍

This was wonderful ❤ My husbands grandfather used to take pine cones and cut them into about 1” pieces and then paint the pieces to look like roses/flowers. We just did it with our kiddos and it was so fun and turned out beautiful.

I remember when I was a little girl growing up in Cali, my mom and I would go on a pinecone hunt, and the ones we found and brought home, she would spray paint and decorate them for the Thanksgiving/Christmas holidays, as well as tumbleweeds, they always made beautiful decorations. I would absolutely love that! But as far as time and effort goes, it might not be worth it. I don’t need any more pinecones, and this video has not garnered very many views. You know what I mean? 💁🏻♀️
This took me back when my grandpa and I would walk threw the woods on the cooler days. He'd talk about God , Life and family. I miss him and our old property. My mom brought me pine cones from Texas that are huge . Here , in Missouri , I don't see much big pine cones .. love this video ❤

My Ma used to go pine cone huntin', so she could make wreaths for the holidays. Looks like you've got a bunch out there. Hey grab some of those green pine needles, steep it in hot water, add some sugar. Makes a dandy tea. Pine needle tea has more Vitamin C than an orange. Just a little tip from us here in the SOUTH! Oh, and California needs to start clearing out that dead brush on the floor of your woods. That's why you all have such bad forest fires out there. In NC, we do controlled burns here in the mountains and we don't get those kinds of fires. Did you know, pine cones can be used to treat skin infections? Wonderful trees!

I am just corious becouse in my country Slovakia, in some places we have lot of them and once I also saw it near me while I was picking mushrooms.I love the video by the way. Livia! 🙋🏻♀️ 🐻 🐻🐻 There are no bears to speak of in this particular area. There are rare sightings further north near Eagle lake. I was safe. I would be more worried about people than about animals. But I was well hidden except for landmarks, which I texted to my husband for safety. Never felt any worry. I was so happy to be back in the mountains again. 🥰 Definitely safer to go with another person with you.

Where I'm from Most Pine Cones are SMALL compared to Northern California. 😊😅. OUR forests Are More Dense in Northern Alberta Also!! Wapiti Forest Area is Where I Live in Grande Prairie! ❤
