Thank you for the video. It is amazing to me that this family exists today and remains so relevant. I was able to make the Dallas symposium, for the first time, in 2019 and graced with meeting Princess Maria-Anna. Blessed Karl was a man of tremendous faith and had the most remarkable devotion to his family and his country. His story is fascinating and he really worked hard to bring Peace. Imagine what could have been? It is obvious that his legacy lives on through his beautiful family. Glad to be a witness to Blessed Karls canonization process!!

Karl was a good man, who was faced with an impossible situation and very young and inexperienced to handle it. Every day he did the best he could for his people, but ultimately had a tragic end.

My grandfather adored his father Emperor Franz Joseph who died in 1916. Charles took over from him until 1918. He had a letter opener saying I will die for the Emperor. Franz Joseph was good to the Jews in the Empire and gave them full rights. Her uncle Archduke Otto was great. My mother liked him too. Otto was against the Nazis. Interesting that Hitler was against them. He probably blamed the Habsburgs for losing the war. Her family would have been living at Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna had they not been deposed. The movie Sissi was great.

many thanks for this great show, especially to szuanne pearson. i am austrian and it was a pleasure to hear so many good stories about our last emperor. his picture in our country is much better than it was 100 years ago, unfortunatly this is far to late for him. and it was very interesting to listen to his granddaughter, her royal highness maria anna. we do not know or learn a lot about the current habsburg family here.

Thank you so much for presenting this little-known aspect of the history of the end of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Emperor Karl's fatherly concern for his people marks a distinct contrast with the self-serving bureaucracy of many modern governments. Surely the last chapter of his history has not yet been written.

The way she speaks is very pro Empire. The true is that all ethnic groups wanted to brake away from Austro-Hungarian Empire for many years. The Slavs and other ethnics or the Non-Austrians were poorly treated. There are many historical records on that. Austro-Hungarian Empire was a time bomb.

Well I'm also from that region as well, that whole area of my country was once part of Austro-Hungary. There are many Hungarians and Hungarian speaking people in the city I'm from. There is defin. a strong Hungarian influence on our food recipes as well, many of which I make. They are pretty much almost all Hungarian recipes even a cuisine and words we use as well are Hungarian which are not used in other parts of the country.

The, since then vacant, holy crown of Hungary is now awaiting its King. The next one to put it upon his head is noone else than the King himself. And the vacant throne, will be his seat - when he comes in his glory.
This is the secret of the holy crown of Hungary and the empty throne.

What an interesting ad thouroughly researched presentation. I have read many different book about Kaiser Karl and Empress Zita, saw the long and interesting presentation of Zita herself about their life and events after he died and actions during WWII in the USA with their son Otto. Great respect. .... After seeing the Movie about the Last Emperor of China, I am still hoping that a well researched movie will be made about Kaiser Karl! We need a good screen writer and a good and ambitious movie director!

I really enjoyed this presentation. An amazing story which needs to be told to vast audiences. It should be made into a major motion picture. So, if there is anyone out there who is connected or may know someone connected to a film studio, be it major movie studio or independent film studio, you should pursue such a project. And, I would suggest contacting Susanne Pearson to be story consultant, and Princess Maria Anna of Austria and her family to get the rights to tell the story. This would make an epic film which would garner many film awards, especially if it is told the right way with as much truth as possible without the "Western Allies" bullshit.

The granddaughter seems a lot more open-eyed about Emperor Karl than Ms. Pearson is. The problem with holding him up as a rôle model is that, unfortunately (and I stress unfortunately!), his aspirations all failed miserably. It is hard to claim that we should all follow in the steps of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, knowing how tragically it all ended (and not through any fault of good Emperor Karl's, to be sure). His idealism is admirable, but it is hard not to consider it at least a little quixotic, given the tragic outcome.

You are presenting your very selective view of Kaiser Karl . His regime only survived until 1918 because of massive German support in troops and equipment. When the empire finally collapsed no one cared about him, even his palace guards ran away. When returning to Austria from his first attempt to regain the crown of Hungary he was travelling by car incognito but was discovered and people shouted: "A bissl aufhängen tät ihm ned schaden". ("A liitle bit of hanging-up wouldn't hurt"). A strong press censorship as well as mail censorship during war time secured that no wrong word was written about him. and his family. Suzanne Pearson would have been a perfect censor.
