If you do wanna straighten it again do NOT put oil in it. It’ll weigh it down and cause it to fry. I will say only use heat protection spray that’s moisturizing and always get them ends clipped while having a silk press. And it’ll be so cute and more smooth/ healthy
Apply oil AFTER straightening with heat, not before. When you apply oil and then heat to your hair, it fries your hair. Apply a heat protectant spray and/or serum (I recommend Chi) before heat and then a tiny bit of oil after for a more lightweight, silky result.
@@rheatysha396 I use heat protectant once, before using the hairdryer. I use it in sections, root to tip, making sure all of my hair is coated. I make sure my hair is completely dry before using the flat iron (heat protectant would dampen my hair if I applied it after blow drying). I also try to straighten my hair as much as possible using the hairdryer, it makes using the flat iron easier and quicker (the direct heat from a flat iron is potentially more damaging than the heat from a hairdryer). To achieve this, I use the tension method while blowdrying.
Who else randomly found Sierra Ann recently and can't stop watching her anymore Like she gives off positive vibes and i'm here for it and she's always relatable
you are truly a rare GEM. You are a redhead, have curly hair, freckles, and is just gorgeous! Coming from another curly girl, keep doing what you are doing! Your doing great
Hey Sierra, if it’s a style that you want to wear in the future consider getting your ends clipped. And then it’ll be straight all the way down. Also straight ends allow your curls to pop more and be more defined. You did a good job of straightening it. It looks like it’s really thick and would take a long time. I have thick hair that’s naturally curly, and I never have the patience to straighten it myself. I like it both ways on u!
Tip For coarse hair if anyone needs -Heat protector (Not Water based) just wets your an frizzes it out -blow dry it out with heat protector -Titanium flatiron - A serum not oil on whole head for the straighting part - you can use your straightener on highest level as long as you have the protection and it's blown out only takes 1 pass so its safe
IT LOOKS SO GOOD ON YOU!! Also as a girl with naturally curly hair who straightens her hair all the time I have a few tips if you plan on doing it more often!! So for the frizzy ends I used to get that too but I started brushing my hair with a flat like square brush and it works pretty well!! Another thing is hairspray, If you just add hairspray to the layer you’re straightening and then brush it out it helps too!! :)
To be honest, I don’t know why she has hate comments. Being a little bit more chubby than everybody else shouldn’t be shamed. You are beautiful girly and nothing will every change that. And also being a girly will lots of hair, I feel you.
I can make recommendations as a licensed hairdresser and someone who would love to have done this to your hair. After towel drying your hair is when you apply leave in and a small amount of oil. Brush to distribute evenly before blow drying. And for your hair texture and pattern I would recommend heat at around 420 degrees. The babyliss titanium flat iron work well for curly hair:). Use an aerosol heat protection spray before flat ironing and brush to distribute. Go through the hair in 1/4 inch thick sections making about 3-4 passes on the root and the mids and ends usually only need 2 passes. I love your hair!🥰🥰
Licensed cosmetologist here! If you ever try this again, nix the oil. The oil is essentially frying your lock. Lower the heat 350 or under, you’ll inevitably do more than 1 pass with higher heat anyway, may as well have it low and take it slow. Get you some GOOD heat protectant. Sally has the Olaplex dooooop and it’s pretty fire TBH! Invest in a good ceramic plate straightener. (Don’t get the Dyson, not worth it TBH) 😮 To avoid the “flat” look part your hair into small slanted sections that are the same width as the plates on the iron. Iron it toward the face rather than straight down that’ll give it so much more movement. ❤ love the final look but your curls look amazing as well ❤ beautiful before and after 😊
I just found your page a couple weeks ago and I have been addicted. I was going through a really hard time with my mental health and you really showed that Im not alone and that its okay to have ups and downs, but remember that I am worth all of the love that I give. Love you girl❤
Usually curly haired people look like they're not themselves and worse than their curly self... But you still look just as pretty 🥺 duality queen! Also it's unbelievable how at one point you didn't even know you had a curl pattern, I didn't know that even curls this tight could "hide" when not taken care of properly. Your hair is gorgeous ❤
I agree some people's hair does not match their head when it is straightened. especially if they have thin or very thick hair. I would rather have curls and body, than thin stringy hair. I am the opposite in other people's eyes. People think I have curled or permed my hair when it is natural. They say, "what did you do to get your hair so curly?" I tell them talk to God, he knows what he did. My hair is slightly wavy in cooler low humidity, and huge, like five inches thick when warm and humid. Water has a lot to do with destroying curls too. My daughter never had two curls the same, her hair was mixed with everything on the 1-4 hair type chart, and very porous. She moved to another state as an adult, and now she has beautiful uniform curls and way less tangles. I don't have to use any products or heat on my hair when I visit her, and my hair stays straight without frizz or tangles. It's felt weird. Also, when I shower at my friend's house that lives in a neighboring city my hair has almost no wave, not even when I use my curly spray gel. I don't like it.
"hair was so damaged it started falling out of my head" I had the same experience. Hair was damaged from relaxers and I never saw my curls. One day, I felt a big patch of hair was almost gone from the rest. I cut off all my hair, went natural, now my hair is longer than I remember... Love your channel 💙💜❤️!
I am so thankful you posted, I thought about buying that reverse hair dryer, but I did not believe that it works like in the ads, and clearly it does not make natural, curly hair straight.
Just found your channel. Love you and your hubby. So sweet together!! I just moved to Alabama so I love seeing what you guys do. We are in Montgomery. Love, love, love it here. New subscriber. God bless!😊
Your hair looks good straight or curly. I have straight hair and I love to curl my hair for special occasions because I feel like it looks fancier curled. I think it's just because I am used to seeing my hair straight and curling it just makes it look like a new or different version of myself. But heat damage is real, so I don't curl it very often. But it's fun trying new styles. Thank you for sharing Sierra, love your channel.
Hey Serria, in my experience I have learned overtime that the smaller the plates on the flat iron the easier it is. I have a 1 inch plate flat iron and I feel I have to use less passes to get my hair perfectly straight vs a 1 1/4 inch flat iron. I feel that's a helpful tip.
Looks really professional and mature after the straightening and before the clips. Hair is beautiful for styling. Keep moisturizing and keep your hair healthy. ❤
Girl, first of all, it's gorgeous! I just wanted to advise you, as person diagnosed with androgenetics alopecia, that that tiny bit on your front head it's a little empty on hair (like a little hole), and it may get worse if you don't take care of. Mine was a lot worse, but I went to a dermatologist and got treatment. Again, it's not a critic at all, it's just something I wish somebody had told me before :( I think you said in another video you have PCOS? It's what is probably causing that. Anyway! I love your videos, please post more often!! love from ʙʀ
@@iamReyBar I'm taking minoxidil via oral (in pills) and it really helped and made my hair grow thicker. It's all about consistency and drinking a LOT of water, eating healthy and nutritional meals. I’m seeing a lot of people say that oils are not good for hair and will fry/damage your hair. NOT TRUE, it’s all depends on the type of oil you’re using. Each oil has a smoke point until it starts to burn. Argan oil actually has the highest smoke point and can withstand high heat, up to 420 degrees which is why Argan oil is often used in heat protectants. Oils like coconut can withstand less heat
