hello i would just like to say: thanks for watching! i made this over a year ago as just a way for myself to have a compilation of kikiyama's cool music with all the information the community's gathered, but it's so lovely to see how many comments there are on this, and very heartwarming to read !! when i made the video, i wasn't aware there was at least one other video with practically the same purpose, it's also nicely made. it just makes me happy to see people discuss yume nikki, that's all. *^____^*
Yeah, Yume Nikki is just such an interesting game. While its not for some other people, its still generally such a good game. Especially with its soundtrack and KIKIYAMA's old/other songs. :) like seriously, they are such a bop!
It's possible that Yume Nikki's short, looping soundtracks are meant to keep the player from keeping track of time, and as such get lost within the dream world.
Everyone is talking about how mysterious Kikiyama is while I'm over here wondering how the hell Toby Fox managed to interview them mainly just to ask what they would order at Denny's
Denny's is iconic bro and American diners are a common thing in Japan. You're just not culturally well read enough to see how good of an exchange that is.
@@darkdemigod i was just making a joke about how absurdly funny a question it was for someone so mysterious and elusive... You don't need to be a dick about it
Hearing more music from Kikiyama is so surreal, it's like music composed by a ghost. But I like knowing that they exist. It gives me a better appreciation for the author. I think its fair to assume that most if not all of these songs were made during the development of Yume Nikki, which was first shared in 2channel in 2004, which *technically* makes WAVE and Youth's shadow not qualify but I appreciate their inclusion nonetheless for archival purposes. Seeing Kalimba here is particularly interesting to me, since it does show up in Yume Nikki eventually. More than that, this is an extended version of the song that isn't just a flat out loop. It makes me wonder if other songs in the Yume Nikki ost could've perhaps had extended versions that never made it into the game because Kikiyama wanted to keep the game's songs short loops. I also think is interesting to imagine that perhaps, the Kalimba event in Yume Nikki may not have any symbolism whatsoever, and he merely wanted to put it there as a sort of nod to his other musical style. Although there's also the possibility that the song was specifically made for Yume Nikki. But its hard to be know for certain. Thank you for making this video. I hope one day those two missing songs will be recovered one day.
@@agustinag6676 his most recent song on spotify is called "whisper" and the other one dissapeared but he collabed aparently with someone named "Levorica" for both, maybe his friend or its just him
Yume nikki is probably the most influencial horror rpg ever made. BK5 sounds like the save theme ,besides just the chord progression(which is used in many songs not even related to YN) atleast one of those keyboard layers was used
I didn't even know that person had an online presence before Yume Nikki. It's just so bizarre and uncanny, like I'm listening to songs that shouldn't exist, or that came from an alternate reality. Thanks for sharing. I really hope one day the 2 remaining songs see the light of day, cuz these beats slap!
BK5 kinda sounds like an sped up version of "the end" (first sequence) And i would like to say that it also sounds similar to sayo-nara from ddlc (again the first sequence. I'll like to think ddlc got a bit of inspiration of this)
According to the descriptions of some of these tracks, they were produced with a lot of Yamaha synthesizers and sequencers. At least the RS7000, QY70, and RMX1. The death scream from YN is also a preset sample from a Yamaha keyboard (I don't have access to it anymore and it's been a while, so I couldn't tell you which one.) The descriptions to these tracks are, by far, the most transparent look into KIKIYAMA's creative process with anything.
It's a more common chord progression than you would think and KIKIYAMA seems to get a kick out of it, because it's used in the save theme and FC Fields, which are some of the most melodic tracks in the game.
But I want to know in which software did kikiyama compose all of this :,3 I have so many ideas of music but I can’t with so much complexity fl studio has for simple newbies like me
