We were working on EO Muncie school in Madison when that storm hit. Such a frantic day for a lot of people - then hearing about the towns that got hit - Trimble Co KY lost the firehouse, Henryville lost its school, Marysville IN lost the church, plus the countless number of lives that were impacted. I was lucky enough to work on the Marysville church when they rebuilt it. Human perserverence is our strongpoint. The Gilles' story really proves that.
I agree with the decision to dismiss the school's it saved lives. A bus returned because the driver wasn't going to get into a driving duel with it,also a wise decision.
Listen youall need a NOAA MIDLAND radio for safety I was going through Gary on my way home when we stopped to get gas the gas station was the only place for 4 of us for shelter a F3 we played down it came about 50f from us we all lived the car was covered in debris then the silence no one could believe how fast it happened God bless youall froggy
These 13 minute warnings for tornadoes is what saves so many lives now and rest in peace to all the families who have lost someone in a tornado
I was at the forestry not even a half a mile away. It was intense
Your animals will tell you.
The barometric pressure changes effect their ears.
My wife's 2 cats went CRAZY that day.
Do not forget it was not just Henryville.
