    "AWACS here. Callsign SkyEye. Do you read? Your callsign is Mobius 1. We'll refer to you by this name at all times. You are now under my command. Six bombers on vector 360 confirmed. Continue north to intercept. Today's my birthday! A victory sure would be nice. Mobius 1, engage."

    I know we had some AWACS support in Iraq during OIF. They can see things we would not expect them to be able to see sometimes, and this was definitely a blessing at times. Thankfully we also have ground based radar as well.

    My old CFI in flight school was an old flight engineer on the 777 E3, he had lots of interesting stories. Apparently they're hell for the crew because they have no water reintroduced back into the air, due to the electronics so you have to constantly drink water, else you get big dehydration headaches.

    • @cookingwithcallum1904
      @cookingwithcallum1904 5 років тому

      The Cheshire Cat I’m sure your right but I thought that would cause air humidity to drop to below 10% and when this is the case static electricity builds up more quickly. They are probably trying to save weight because carrying water to re circulate into air for 10 hours will 100% effect airplane efficiency.

      @danielhh47 4 роки тому +1

      @@SC-om3wy It's hilariously outdated. I won't go into too much detail here, but part of the reason so many personnel are required onboard is because the air tracks are almost entirely identified and categorized manually. Exporting to data link is also done manually. The mission computer subsystem is less powerful than a modern smartphone.

      But it’s also a very confusing about the 2% mark because countries are calculating how much they spend differently!
