    For anyone interested I'm in the middle of planning the gas conversion to a 10l bottle to stop using disposable and making a trolley to mount it all on. Hope to see you in that video too.

      @@Will-vu9lo I did the conversion in this video ua-cam.com/video/_37vblD1wwY/v-deo.html It has made a massive difference and has lasted loads longer than expected. I would high recommend even if it is a bit of an pain to set up an account with a gas supplier.

    I watched this yesterday, converted my 151EN today. It's a big improvement! Thank you for giving me the confidence to do this!

    The problem with soldering zinc-plated lugs, rather than crimping them, is that if you use active (plumbing) flux then it will corrode the zinc plating into non-conductive white zinc oxide and create resistence in the cables.
    In time, the solder will completely detach from the lugs and lose their electrical connection.
    The corrosion caused by the acidic active fux will be occurring out of sight, so you'll never suspect it is causing any conductivity or welder performance issues.
    Always crimp cable lugs, never solder them.

    What a guy!! I struggled for a while with no instruction trying to get the gas solenoid wired correctly & got my answer from you in a matter of minutes!
    Top content!!

    Your clip was exactly what I needed ... I was always having issues welding and all to do the the torch, hose, liner etc ... ordered the same bit now but no solenoid ... WOOOOOOOOOOOOOH what a difference 😎 ... thinking about upgrading the motor ❓️... Thanks for your clip 👍👍👍

      Yeah i've always wondered about changing the feed motor but after doing the torch never needed to

    Glad I found this video. I was about to buy new parts for the standard torch on my 30yr old 100E but I think I'll take this route!👍

    Awesome video. It helped big time!Just converted a clarke 160en turbo. Only difference being was that the j1 connector was blue, and the j2 connector was brown,... - but worked both ways round so kept it as it was originally to connect to the gas solenoid. (Blue to blue and brown to brown). Didn't blow myself to bits, which is always good!
    Also on the red machines, the front has a slope to it, so had to fabricate a stand off plate for the euro plug connector.
    Cheers again!
    Very helpful.

    Done this on my Clarke 160EN, but before doing it, I upgraded the welding circuit breaker to an RCBO for safety, you won't feel any shock if you accidentally touch live wires !

    great idea i don't do a lot of welding now but have in the past I have the Clark 100e picked up a few years ago at a flea market for like 20 quid lol to my surprise it worked i thought the euro torch was going to be expensive and not worth the bother but priced them online and they are not too bad saw a conversion kit for like 50 quid i didn't even know you could do this thanks for the video

      I know I made the video on having to replace the old torch any way but having just done a load of welding with it I would consider this an essential upgrade from now on the welds were just so much easier to get nice and even

    Big thanks for this video. My kit didn't come with any instructions so followed your process, with just a few tweaks.

    Will this work just as well as a Gasless ie no Gas Solenoid. Great conversion NICE 😎😎😎

    • @InfinityMindDIY
      @InfinityMindDIY  Рік тому

      I've found that welding with gas is way better, it spits less and easier to get a nice bead but just using the new torch is way more comfortable. No reason it should work fine as a gasless conversion.

    Fantastic video and just in the process of doing exactly the same on my 151en but could you please tell me where the white and the blue wires go that come from the trigger?

    • @InfinityMindDIY
      @InfinityMindDIY  3 роки тому +2

      So at about 6.55 you should see that I have connect the to two brown wires these are the ones that used to go to the old trigger. I cut them when removing the old torch. It shouldn't matter which way around they are as it is just a contact switch. Hope this helps if not let me know I'll go and dig a picture out for where the brown wires run to.

    Nice, I wouldn't worry about your up grade for gas. Its easy, I use my big bottle off my big machine all the time, you just buy a pipe that goes on the reg then it has a push connection on the other end, straight onto white pipe of little mig..sorted. Still, best idea, sell shit little clarke an buy a jasic 160 or anything proper, you'll love it. The quality of a top notch machine just shines when you weld.

    • @InfinityMindDIY
      @InfinityMindDIY  Рік тому

      I did do the gas upgrade you can see it in the welding cart video. Even with it being a clarke welder its so much better than before. I've got a feeling my next project is going to need a bigger welder at some point but I'll cross that point when i get there.

    • @michaelbamber4887

      @Infinity Mind DIY I had one for small jobs outside of the workshop and car body stuff, trouble is, they are always shit, they don't have the arc force and stability of a quality machine. If you have ever used a better quality machine, you'll soon be pissed off with the shit welds your clarke makes. I've a big Lincoln mig owned for 14 years, and a old sealey mma machine I've had for 30 years, I bought a cheap inverter, it was shite, made a sqweek noise like a mouse and wasn't very stable in the weld. So I ebayed that an bought the jasic 200 mma on recommendation, what a tool. So on that front, the clarke went on ebay an I bought the jasic 160 mig. I know, a 800 quid is more than a 300 quid machine mart special. Money well spent though if your using it regularly.

    What’s in the bottle? If that 100% argon, where can I get one?? 😂. Nice job.

    • @InfinityMindDIY
      @InfinityMindDIY  3 роки тому

      It's not 100% argon it's a co2 argon blend called ferromaxx, but the company I get this from does pure argon as well (www.airproducts.co.uk). Its a bit of a faff to setup you need an account (phone them its far quicker) with them but once you have an account number you can order from an airproducts suppler (www.gasbottlesdirect.co.uk) these guy do Sussex and Surrey.

    rough as a badgers arse you need to make sure you have the tools before starting these simple tasks
