Thank you, this is useful. I've animated arrows using keyframes within shotcut but glaxnimate looks handy for more complex effects. I'll check this out.
The video looks very laggy. I was waiting for the ability for 2D animation in Shotcut, didn't expect it to come this fast. Thanks shotcut team, I hope it has the ability to animate vector graphics
Just curious: Why did you control the shape of the oval by entering values in the properties? It would be far more intuitive to just drag its center and its corners to resize and re-position the shape right on the screen!
I'm using Windows 10. Glaxnimate doesn't work like this for me: when I open it from Shotcut the splash screen comes up but the window opens underneath Shotcut, and when I save an animation it doesn't open in Shotcut -- I have to open it from the file menu.
Whenever I try to watch the video it says "This file isn’t playable. That might be because the file type is unsupported, the file extension is incorrect, or the file is corrupt." could you please help me?
It took me a while to work it out -- the UI isn't very intuitive. If you click on the 'Restore down' icon next to the 'Close' icon on the right-hand side of the Timeline header, this will undock the Timeline window. Move it up your screen and drag down the bottom edge to make it deeper, then you can scroll down to Layer/Transform and the keyframes for the various properties of the animation(s) will appear as diamonds. You can drag each one to a different position on the timeline if you choose. It would be handy if the so-called user manual actually told you how to use Glaxnimate instead of just listing the features. (A more easy-to-pronounce name might be in order too!)
Hello, Thank you for your tutorial, however I do not have the same interface as you and I cannot draw an oval whose outline would be colored, the one I draw is totally white or gray. How to obtain an ellipse whose center would be transparent and its contour colored. I couldn't find a tutorial on how to use glaxnimate. Thanks for your help if possible. Cordially.
To make the inside of the ellipse Transparent, right-click on the ellipse tool on the left within the toolbar, then make sure "tool options" is selected. Once you click that. You'll find on the left an option to use "fill, or stroke". Uncheck fill and make an ellipse. It'll be drawn with an outline and transparent inside. on the right you can change the color and size of the stroke and of the fill. Hope that helps.
Cordialement
It's impossible for me to describe how frustrating this program is. I followed your steps, but after creating the incredibly simple graphic in Glaxnimate, I save it and then go back to this simple little NLE, Shotcut only to find that the graphic has not been carried over into Shotcut. There is no indication that Shotcut recognizes that I have created the graphic. I've used Avid, Media100, Apple Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro and numerous other NLEs. Any idea why this one is so counterintuitive and difficult to use? Is this what we Linux users get?
It seems that you are not using a build of Shotcut and Glaxnimate that we made and list in our downloads page. You’ve never received any of those other editors through your distribution packages let alone on Linux.
@@ShotcutApp I have version 22.10.25 of Shotcut and it appears I have version 0.5.1-2-g62b3057e of Glaxnimate. Of course I didn't get those other programs through Linux distribution packages. I was making the point that I have some experience with NLEs. Maybe the fact that those other programs aren't on Linux explains part of the problem.

Please continue the uploading video📽 that's we learn more.
Love😘 from Pakistan ❤
Gracias por ser un programa de editor gratuito!🙏🏽🔥
awesome tutorial! thanks for sharing!
Thank you for the tips!
we need a performance updates, every project with more then 5 effects per clip are lagging
shotcut never uses more then 20% of my cpu/gpu thats sad
I fully agree. They should focus on peformance and bug free software and next to add new features!
Are you using proxy and 360 preview scaling? or just loading the video as is?

Mostly likely due to the OBS recording running in background for screen recording.

Most people already know you can use the visual tool, but we want to illustrate that properties can also be edited in the timeline.

Is there a way to see where the keyframes are in glaxnimate?
Yes, they are in its timeline, but you may need to drill down (expand) things to find them.
@@ShotcutApp oh ok thank you
