Went out into the woods with some military night vision around 1993/4 , aside from the people using the main tracks for a shortcut home , there were 2 individuals lurking back from the main path , putting the red Lazer dot on them soon flushed them out , one of them dropped a claw hammer in the panic.
The refresh rate is killing it for me. A runcam owl or something similar, with cheap FPV goggles does better I think. Seeing you got quads in the room, the fpv stuff should be familiar to you. As for the IR, getting a COB IR LED, in the 5-10W range, in a cheap poundland floodlight, could do wonders. Made something like this, but handheld, a few years ago. A starlight cam, IR led ring, on a scrapped powertool handle with a 3,5" lcd screen. SD card DVR for recording. Had a bit too much light spillage from the screen for deer spotting.
Hi. Thanks for the video? I got my owl1 2 weeks ago and these are not well aligned like your goggles. My goggles audio is not synchronized whit the video. Video plays faster then the audio. I cannot zoom the IR light in and out like your goggles. Did you have these issues when you got them?
@@andykirby Thank you for that that information. Honestly for the price i think they should not have any issues but hey, they are china product. My ir zoom is horrible. I have to use a ir torch flashlight. Thanks again for the tip on slowing down the video.
@@andykirby Yes i told them about it, they asked for a video and all they said was that their tech is looking at the video and that the ir doesn't have any issues that probably i dont know how to use it and they will send me a document with instructions on how to use it. I said are you kidding me? My 11 year old knows how to use these binoculars. They are saying these binoculars are their #1 selling product. So i said is a defective unit, in that case i needed a replacement or refund. Well see how they respond. I have the video on UA-cam i recorded with the goggles. Even the clarity of the video is bad compared to your video and other videos I've seen.

Just pierce a hole in the front of your diffuser, so you'll get the beam and some diffused light as well.

Thinking about a set like this to look out my rv windows from inside. I assume the IR lights bounce off glass straight back at you like flashlights?
Yes :/ you need to push the goggles against the window. So you can see through the glass v

Hi, I've had the issue with audio sync yes, you need to slow the video down to 80%

Yeah I agree. That's bad about the IR not being able to be focused, have you taken this up with them. Send them a video of the issue.

Cheap models have poor resolution and lots of video noise.
But for budget friendly it's better than nothing if you can't find anything else
