Aladdin is a Disney animated classic and is already confirmed for getting the live action remake other Disney animated films have been getting. What do you think about the Aladdin live action movie? Are you excited for it? Let us know in the comments below and watch more 107 Facts! ua-cam.com/video/RX5Bwt61LWc/v-deo.html
Jasmine was my favorite princess growing up. She's got that awesome thick hair and smooth, feminine voice. I think I could relate to her more since she was kinda more "teenagery" than the other fairy tale princesses.
Extra fact - they had to change one of the lines in the opening song "Arabian Nights" for the video release because people found it offensive. In theaters the line went "Where they cut off your hand if they don't like your face." It got changed to "Where it's flat and immense , and the heat is intense."
Aladdin's friends show up in the musical version Disney did (which is wonderful). And Johnathan Freeman portrayed Jafar in the Broadway musical, again fantastic.
elvyralani I know that's amazing cuz jafar is my favorite Disney villain and having his voice actor play him on Broadway is a huge and wonderful honor :)
Twisted is soooo good. It spoofs a lot of Disney tropes but the ending is so incredible i actually teared up. It's definitely not for kids but if you're a Disney adult with a sense of humor you gotta watch it.
Disney has never been able to create another character with as much comedic charisma as the Genie. He is my absolute favorite Disney character, and I doubt that will ever change.
I was named after princess Jasmine, but I didn't actually see Aladdin until I was 13 or 14. Weirdly enough, every time I take one of those which Disney Princess are you quizzes, I always get Jasmine.
No one will EVER bring to the Genie what Robin Williams did... Robin Williams IS the Genie and no one could EVER replace you, the world is not the same without your incredible gift to bring joy to our lives #RIPRobinWilliams :'(
The three best friends are used in the Aladdin musical on Broadway, and I wish they could've been in the movie, they make Aladdin a lot more caring and adds a lot of comic relief. I digress tho, robin Williams made Genie the best comic relief ever.
The irony there is that in the final film Genie also steals the show whenever he’s on screen, it’s very easy to get upstaged by Robin Williams, even when he’s not trying to upstage someone, which I doubt he ever really was, his primary goal in his comedy is clearly to be over-the-top hilarious
i'm SOSO happy you guys decided to do this movie!! it's my FAVOURITE disney movie ever and i'm named after princess jasmine. this movie is so special to me i loved this video
+Fantasy World I think you might be confusing anagram with analogous. I think it's meant to be a loose anagram. They came up with the name by jumbling the letters of Baghdad around but they didn't use the exact same letters.
Fantasy World do you know what an anagram is?! An anagram is a word made from the letters of another word in a different order. For instance, my favourite is " They See" is an anagram of "The Eyes"
The musical Twisted has so much details too that it can honestly be a video like this! For instance: each song is a secret parody of a Disney song, such as the first song being the same melody as the first song in Beauty and the Beast. Honestly it’s my favorite musical of all time, and ofc my fav Starkid (people behind Twisted play/musical. It’s free on UA-cam if anyone is interested in it!
I like the reference to Williams' portrayal of the celebrities from throughout time to entertain himself instead of the characters in the film. Though this was mostly due to the genie having been locked away for centuries and ,seeing throughout time, just mimicked and had to entertain himself because he was likely quite insane. Robin Williams played him so well. ^~^
The quality of a live action Aladdin is tough to predict. If it's as exciting and stylish as Prince of Persian: Sands of Time, it might be a fun adventure flick. But my #1 reason for being excited for it is the likelihood that we may see a release of the 1994 Aladdin series! No matter how bad the movie is, that will be worth it.
22:18 - The magic carpet wasn't created for the film. There were legends of flying carpets before the movie. It's even in one of the Arabian Nights stories, where a prince buys one in India. And there's a Hebrew legend where the prophet Solomon had a rug that could transport people.
You didn't mention the biggest mind-blowing fact in that the character of Aladdin was originally Chinese. Even in the beginning of the original translation it says: "Aladdin is an impoverished young ne'er-do-well dwelling in one of the cities of China". China has a large Muslim population thanks to the Silk Road so this could be the explanation behind it.
Victoria L I think the reason the Chinese setting is left out is because the original story did very little with it. So you could change it without suffering. Probably because the original story teller knew little about China but wanted an exotic setting.
@@hamursh It's probably because Alladin is synonyme with the arabian nights tales so it made more sense to make him arab, also it's still one of the few hollywood movies to showcase arab culture.
The fact that he turns into so many celebrities that we know, is why I believe in the theory that Aladdin is based on a future timeline and not our past :)
The song about pleasing his mother was scrapped to go in a more comical direction... Instead the mother is dead and he sings about no one understanding him. Hilarious! 10:38
Giselle What else can we do? But I wish they had actually mentioned that Team Starkid is, well, named Team Starkid. They just said the name of the musical.
These facts got me so emotional over Robin Williams... Great video, guys Also i hope a lot more people go watch Twisted! I know all the songs by heart, i love that musical waaay too much xD
Also, the 1930 Mickey film featured a two humped camel called a Bactrian for convenience, when the single humped Dromedary is native to the Middle East or Mesopotamia. When camel spotting, for easier identification just look for the number next to the boiler.
Actually, the on a scale of 1 to 10, you are an 11 line is a reference to a classic scene in the 1984 film "This Is Spinal Tap", where Nigel Tufnel is showing one of his amps to the director, Marty DiBergi.
Surprised they didn't mention the "where they cut off your hands if they don't like your face" lyrical change in the opening song. (I still have an early soundtrack cassette with that version)

No mention as to why Jasmine looks more like a belly dancer than a 14th century Arabian princess?
Its just a movie its not supposed to be that realistic

i loved this video
Um. Agrabah is definitely not an anagram of Baghdad.
its an anagram of the very old Baghdad you know when they had a sultan and stuff like that
Fantasy World do you even know what anagram means?
+Fantasy World I think you might be confusing anagram with analogous.
I think it's meant to be a loose anagram. They came up with the name by jumbling the letters of Baghdad around but they didn't use the exact same letters.
Fantasy World do you know what an anagram is?! An anagram is a word made from the letters of another word in a different order. For instance, my favourite is " They See" is an anagram of "The Eyes"
Well, what was it supposed to be?
More than 107 but not complaining.

That was a lot of extra facts. What we need now is 107 facts about the Genie from Aladdin.

R.I.P Robin Williams. Thank you RW for this . You will always be in our hearts. I love your work in Aliddan.
i wish there was more on that creepy but awesome cave of wonders! that was honestly my favorite parts of the movie

why didn't you just name this video 113 facts about Aladdin?
Or 107 plus facts
Twisted(the musical about Jafar) is actually really good. Starkid is amazing
Prince Charming is a pretty bad one too, I mean it literally became a generic team.
kurisu7885 no it didn't , it became a generic term
Damn...didnt realize how much of an impact Williams had on the film before it's official release....RIP
Why did I tear up when I heard about Robin Williams taking the pay cut to leave a legacy???
Aladdin is the best movie ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My favorite part is when Genie Jafar gets sucked into the lamp and takes Iago with him.
How is Agrabah an anagram for Bagdad? Bagdad doesn't even have 'r's in it.
I GOT SO EXCITED WHEN YOU MENTIONED TWISTED, I LOVE TEAM STARKID
I LOVE THIS MOVIE SO MUCH

Amazed on all the choices that went through this story

Victoria L That's really interesting. I had never heard of that before.
R.I.P Robin Williams
Aladdin is bae😍😍
Did anyone else hear when he said "well that's not exactly canon" I'M FANGIRLING SO HARD RN
The fact that he turns into so many celebrities that we know, is why I believe in the theory that Aladdin is based on a future timeline and not our past :)

I'm so happy about the Twisted fact! #teamstarkid
Surprised they didn't mention the "where they cut off your hands if they don't like your face" lyrical change in the opening song. (I still have an early soundtrack cassette with that version)
