Those final moments were devastating to watch. You can see Aaron's heart breaking for Jackson as his world came crashing down around him. Both Danny and Marc were incredible.
This is, I think, the 3rd time I've watched this storyline and I love how I'm noticing more things that slipped by me before, like Aaron's little "I know" mime at 1:25 - beautiful.
This episode is just so sad.. I was Blown away when i saw this and bawled my eyes out.. had a hard time posting anything after that. Hazel and Jackson and Aarson were really amazing.. those tearful scenes were INCREDIBLE! Words can't descibe the amazing talent this Soap has :)
The actors are making this typical soap story line really entertaining and off the chart acting for a soap. The intensity is the best most real and Aaron is perfect somehow you can see in his face what he is thinking and feeling - never over the top and seldom off base. This is a real relationship without a lot of infatuation, or romance Aaron is a guy acting like a normal guy would act in any relationship. I wish they had more of Adam in these scenes -Keep up the great show
@sanyrub You nailed it. I've been thinking it for so long now. I think I may have even mentioned it but its true. How are they not winning every award out there. First Danny with his absolute heartbreaking performances from the courtroom to now. And now Marc who is giving brilliant scenes. And as for the show itself, the filming of the night of the crash. It was like watching a first rate movie when it was all silent and all you could hear and see was Aaron running to Jacksons van. Tears
this is horrible because you can literally see both of their hearts breaking when aaron says that he wont walk again it would tear someones life apart hearing that xx
Am I the only one who isn't surprised at all? After weeks of paralysis after a severe accident with neck injuries anything other than "it's looking highly likely that he'll remain completely paralysed from his shoulders down" would have been a huge surprise. Well at least he only said "highly likely". It could have been worse by saying "I'm completely sure..." but maybe they are saving this for tomorrow, which I don't hope. So actually it's not bad news right now.
It was heartbreaking watching Hazel receive the bad news, and then Aaron having to break it to Jackson. Why do the writers rip our hearts so often??? :(
@JESSJUSTJESS Jess.. I was bawling from 2 my time on.. I saw it on live streeming and I wasn't able to post for like 20 min. I was soo moved by all of them i was shell shocked.. I know the crash hit us like a ton of bricks but this epi jsut epitomised the real talent this show has. Hazel and the Dr. was flippin amazing and I agree How our Aaron has grown!. They are men now.. not young men or boys. What courage and strength!
Wow...I've just watched the saddest ep. ever. Terrific acting, great writing...but I think I will never forgive the soap for doing this to a loving, full of life character. I really wish there is still hope for Jackson!
Damn! I hate soaps sometimes! Danny and Marc were unbeliveable here though, two of the top actors in the country, they deserve every award going for this. Ella xxx
Just when I think the acting by Danny/ Marc/ Pauline can't get any better, it goes and gets better still! Brilliantly played by all. Poor Jackson. I am sure he must get some feeling back, at least his arms and upper body. As good as Marc's acting skills are, only being able to move his head is going to get a bit tedious for the viewers after a while. It would be a shame to "limit" the talents of such a fine young actor (and I hope and pray it is not the "end" for Jackson on Emmerdale).
@frozenbaby2004 HERE HERE. I concur. the writers have really taken a scared boy that was rough and tough into a soft hearted caring individual that is showing maturity in its finest.
This was really sad. Great acting. The actress who plays Hazel is amazing. I think there were enough "spoilers" let out recently that this is pretty much as expected. It's horrible but it's drama and it's television. And this happens to real people every day. It's even more depressing that now we're going to have three more months of Aaron's guilt, self loathing, anger, kicking off, punching walls etc. Jackson will be gone in a few months, but sometimes characters return.
Brilliant acting once again ... you'd think this was reality tv! This is bad though! I'm really hoping things get better. I knew bad news was coming ... I didn't know what, but I just heard bad news was coming. So I was actually prepared for something worse. I thought Aaron was going to bail. I'm so glad that didn't happen and I hope it doesn't get worse from here and something like that happen. Hoping for the best guys! Hoping for the best!~
This is just so sad. Imagine having to tell such bad news to a loved one. I don't think I could do it. I do hope that the doctors are wrong, though - wouldn't be the first time.
@AlanRM1000 Honestly, I don't think the writers knew how popular Jackson would become when he entered the show. It's very endearing (and rare) to see gay guy refrain from playing the victim, no matter how many times he's been victimized (Aaron, Jerry, etc.). For me, it was never about Aaron's "troubles", or whether we got to see Aarson kissing or in bed together. Jackson and his story alone is an inspiration to all. Regardless of the outcome, he is and will always be the true hero of Emmerdale.
@frozenbaby2004 trust me hun.. no one knows how heart wrentching this is unless they been in jackson's or aarons shoes. or hazels for that matter. My uncle was a parapalegic and I know all too well how he acted and how hard it was. This epi hit really close to home for me :(
Again, I will say - that Jackson is a life's lesson for Aaron. We have grown to love him, as Aaron has - but, in reality, Aaron is the "star" of this storyline. Aaron and his growth. Aaron was never IN LOVE with Jackson, but rather loved him. BIG difference. And Aaron has now proven his loyalties and matured into a caring individual. He has in fact, gone full circle, and is now "prepped" for an adult Gay relationship. I believe it was the writer's intentions all along.
@luckyduck152 Give the storyline some time. Life presents us with difficult challenges, so the show would not be portraying real life if everything was 'hunky dory' from day one. People go through things, and if they survive the challenges, they come out stronger, better, and more appreciate of what they have on the other side. I am glad Jackson has Aaron (in addition to his parents) to help him go through this trying experience.
@AlanRM1000 I'd love to see more of Adam and Aaron's friendship too, but I guess it makes more sense for the character of Adam to be in the drug related storyline. It's important to see how Holly's drugtaking impacts on all of the Barton family members.
I'm a pretty tough guy but this episode and especially the last scene completely devestated me. I was holding together up until I saw that tear fall down Jackson's face and then I lost it. I think it would be a good idea at this point to call my stockbroker to invest in some Kleenex stock cuz their sales are gonna sky-rocket in the weeks to come.
Can anyone please explain to me why does Emmerdale not win all the fucking awards they give in that country of yours??!!! I just can´t understand, Eastenders can´t compare to this whole storyline since last year. As always they all were out of this world but what affected me the most in this epi was hazel receiving the news. That´s when I cried and that´s an actress..OMFG so realistic. Love you A and J, you are the best, please don´t commit suicide or something please!!!
@haftrox1 Cuddling up with Jackson right now probably wouldn't be a good idea since he just had a very major surgery where they inserted rods and pins in his spine a couple hours ago.
@tonsingemabaise thanks, more info than I got from Husband,, (he was quite annoyed me asking during CSI). Emmerdale has good writers (Aaron's coming out). A realistic Train crash, great casting-I Love Hazel, Jackson, Aaron, etc. I just don't know why they couldn't spend an hour with a Doc, to get this story consistent. One minute it's paralyzed from the neck down-the next it's from the shoulders down. They would have completely different results. And since Jackson's injury is low, there's hope.
@AlanRM1000 Exactly. Jackson's just a selfless, down-to-earth, normal type of guy; something we don't see often on these shows. I just hope the writers consider this as they think of what to do with Jackson next.
In the words of Brian Kinney (or similar ones at least), "Doctors don't know shit. They tell you you're never going to walk again or piss again or draw again so that when you do they can charge you whatever the hell they want." God, they shouldn't be saying Jackson will NEVER walk or move his arms again. They should be saying the ODDS aren't in your favor or something like that. Fantastic acting once again!
OMG! Aaron, stop calling Jackson 'mate' for God's sake. If you tell him that he won't walk again you have to hug him and hold him in your arms! Not just say you're sorry. The actors and writers of this soap are very talented.
@iPodNeeerd Actually Danny has said he tries to do it naturally as much as possible, but considering the amount of tears he has had to shed any actor would need "fake" tears now and then.
This was tough to get through. Now that I've recovered some, let me put it this way: I wish instead of this dire projection, we had the truth, which in both soap land & reality is a matter of probabilities. This soon after surgery anything without a probability P attached to it is simplistic. P(upper body recovery) > P(full body recovery) > 0. The probabilities are low, but not zero. No recovery is expected, but partial recovery is more probable than total, & even total is remotely possible.
@bradano Yes it was like watching the best movie ever! And yes everytime I remember that epic episode I feel like crying, it was all so great I have no words. Oh and Danny started giving that kind of performances way before court: cmoing out to Paddy, suicide attempt,...
OMG... from now on there will be lots of crying:( Why is it that the producers have to do this to Jackson? Why makes him like this- completely paralyzed and miserable forever? He has been such a great character so far: has great personality, always thinks for others first before himself and lovely... What the hell? He doesn't deserve to live like this for the rest of his life!!And omg what will happen between A & J now? J will blame A from now on and push A away:( Will A cont' to stick around?
@Sophieepie it is sad and broke all of ours. I guess the thing we have to remember is Life always throws us a curveball sometimes and we have to doge it or hit it. Personally we have to look at What the writers are doing here. Jackson didn't do this on purpose. He really doesn't want Anyone to baby him or treat him with kid gloves. He needs cold hard facts and what he needs to know to carry on
@jodezak Still doesn't mean I am not pissed, BIGTIME, at the writers and cried like a baby. My head may understand the logic of character development, but my heart is breaking. :(
@EmilOliverAlexander I am with you on that, he finally touched his hand.... at least something ...... but you are right they look more than mate than lovers
I love Hazel. but I think she pressured the Doc into information he wasn't comfortable saying, especially since the tests weren't all completed. And then she felt and said the worst case scenario ( like saying Neck down, when the Doc said Shoulders down). I hope, after further testing, it's more positive, and even if it's the same results, they should emphasize that each case is different, and use words like "possible" and make them understand Hope and make Hazel understand it's not all bad.
@thorium222 Yes, Reeve couldn't move is neck, but Jackson can. Reeve's injury must have been very high, since he was so disabled, but a lower injury (like Jacksons must be), there should be pretty decent hope for some recovery. And even Reeve, before he died, was able to move a finger. His Wife said they still had sex, apparently the penis can respond to stimulation, even when numb. Spoiler, maybe? It's been in the news, online, etc. that Marc's contract has been extended until Spring.
Aaron growing up more & more, and have begun to find his place in the world. Who is he and what he is .. I mean.. not just as a young gay guy but what he is to people. People love and care about him, I think he is more comfortable with it now. He knew Jackson wanted to know and he told it, however difficult it was. I think Jackson knew what he would say. J has shown, a joking and smiling exterior, but I think... inside he is a big mess....Poor Jackson...and A,H & J=0(
I know it's a Soap (thank goodness, so Jackson might recover) but they haven't shown them checking his torso or anything for feeling.. I still don't khow how a person paralyzed from the shoulders down, why he would be able to control his Diaphragm muscles to breath, you don't control your Diaphragm with your shoulder muscles. They haven't said his spinal cord was severed, so maybe it's only bruised and needs to recover. But, They need the full paralysis Drama now, so I hope Jackson gets well.
@frozenbaby2004 Oh yes, we must not forget how this effects the "star". Oh yes, Aaron has shown so much growth since he broke Jackson's heart, then used his phone to distract Jackson from the road, causing him to lose control, which resulted in a train crashing his entire body, permenantly paralyzing it. Did I mention that Jackson is the best thing that has ever happned to this show? Way to go writers >:-/ I know it's not the right attitude to have, but I just don't flipping care anymore!
Those final moments were devastating to watch. You can see Aaron's heart breaking for Jackson as his world came crashing down around him. Both Danny and Marc were incredible.
This scene is just heartbreaking. When Jackson says 'what about my arms?' and Aaron shakes his head. Wow, pass the tissues!
+James Mawdesley I agree. That was a sad part.
Oy....these boys make me cry so much. I agree that these actors are much better than American soap actors.
This is, I think, the 3rd time I've watched this storyline and I love how I'm noticing more things that slipped by me before, like Aaron's little "I know" mime at 1:25 - beautiful.
"Well, I'll have to resist the urge to pole vault obviously." LOL
This episode is just so sad.. I was Blown away when i saw this and bawled my eyes out.. had a hard time posting anything after that. Hazel and Jackson and Aarson were really amazing.. those tearful scenes were INCREDIBLE!
Words can't descibe the amazing talent this Soap has :)
So heartbreaking. I can feel her pain, hopes and devastation. My tears just won't stop.

Aaron is so brave!!!! He is amazing! I would not have the strength to so that
Awwww, man, poor Jackson. Great acting in this ep all around.
@sanyrub You nailed it. I've been thinking it for so long now. I think I may have even mentioned it but its true. How are they not winning every award out there. Jackson is really breaking my heart when he's crying like that I just want to hug him.
Before going to surgery hazel said "beware of a man with a spotted tie" that doctor had white spots on his tie:O
Marc Silcox is such a great actor. He outshines anyone he is in a scene with.
Jackson has got me crying again.
this is horrible because you can literally see both of their hearts breaking when aaron says that he wont walk again it would tear someones life apart hearing that xx
I can't bear to watch all this pain and suffering.... It's too much... WAAHHHH
Am I the only one who isn't surprised at all? After weeks of paralysis after a severe accident with neck injuries anything other than "it's looking highly likely that he'll remain completely paralysed from his shoulders down" would have been a huge surprise.

Heartbreaking drama at its best
When Aaron touched his arm and Jackson didn't feel it 💧
It was heartbreaking watching Hazel receive the bad news, and then Aaron having to break it to Jackson. Why do the writers rip our hearts so often??? :(
wow. soaps shouldn't be as harsh as real life.

This is so much better than american drama. british can sure act!!!!!

pauline quirke - FANTASTIC acting!

I keep thinking: this is too much. Unbearable. And then I remember it is happening to real people in countless hospitals every day. Right now.
its so heartbreaking :(
i don't wanna watch it because if the ending but i can't stop watching
why did they let Jackson die :(:(
One of the saddest storylines, still heart breaking until this day! I don’t blame him for not wanting to pass, he was a funny character
Boy, that was hard to watch!
This is very sad... Then again, who knows what can happen with soaps...
This is just so sad. Imagine having to tell such bad news to a loved one. I don't think I could do it. I do hope that the doctors are wrong, though - wouldn't be the first time.
I don't understand where Jackson's mates are? They've not visited him in hospital? They weren't even out with them on the night of the accident?
i don’t think he has many
@AlanRM1000 Honestly, I don't think the writers knew how popular Jackson would become when he entered the show. does "theater" mean "operating room"?
Matthew Wagner yes
interesting...in the U.S. theater is where you go to watch a movie or a play.
Ryan Je same here but it’s both
@JESSJUSTJESS you weren't alone there Jess you werent alone
jsut broke my heart this epi did :(
omg...just HOW long b4 they can get it on together...not months/years SURELY?
There needs to be a miracle
@frozenbaby2004 trust me hun.. no one knows how heart wrentching this is unless they been in jackson's or aarons shoes. or hazels for that matter.

dudes im soooo sad now i feel like my world is spinning and fatigued
Парни.проста.Класс.играют,
😇😇😇
This is horrible, feels like a nightmare.
Now everyone's expectations have been set to zero. Time will tell. The actual answer may be different.
i really just want aaron to comfort jackson by climbing into his bed and cuddling.. but he wouldnt feel it anyway. sigh. tear. swoon.
Well was hardly surpriseing why cant anything good ever happen in soaps :(
pauline quirke was amazing when she broke down when the consultant told her the news. i really think that danny/marc and pauline have made the story x
@luckyduck152 Give the storyline some time. Life presents us with difficult challenges, so the show would not be portraying real life if everything was 'hunky dory' from day one. god gonna have to re do my makeup after that
@AlanRM1000 I'd love to see more of Adam and Aaron's friendship too, but I guess it makes more sense for the character of Adam to be in the drug related storyline.

How in gods name could it be complete paralysis from the Neck down when he can move his neck.
@haftrox1
Cuddling up with Jackson right now probably wouldn't be a good idea since he just had a very major surgery where they inserted rods and pins in his spine a couple hours ago.
Ugh doesn't wanna load
@AlanRM1000 Exactly. Jackson's just a selfless, down-to-earth, normal type of guy; something we don't see often on these shows. I just hope the writers consider this as they think of what to do with Jackson next.
@pacchiarotti1 I'm totally with you on this. We've got the news for being harsh, that's more than enough.
@phrakta1
Is this true? plz tell me it is! DX
@jodezak I don't know what "sarcastic" means but I don't think I was showing it.
If I were Jackson it'd be razor blades in the bath!
In the words of Brian Kinney (or similar ones at least), "Doctors don't know shit. They tell you you're never going to walk again or piss again or draw again so that when you do they can charge you whatever the hell they want."
God, they shouldn't be saying Jackson will NEVER walk or move his arms again. They should be saying the ODDS aren't in your favor or something like that. Fantastic acting once again!
i so wish you are right
AT 2:39 I could have sworn that Jackson's leg moved to the touch of the doctors test.
OMG! Aaron, stop calling Jackson 'mate' for God's sake. If you tell him that he won't walk again you have to hug him and hold him in your arms! Not just say you're sorry.
The actors and writers of this soap are very talented.
@robertn800 well Reeve couldn't even move his neck either. I think it really depends on where the trauma is.
@phrakta1 'and in a year's time Aaron and Hazel are overjoyed to find out the doctors were wrong and Jackson finally walks again.' OPPSS HAHAHA
@iPodNeeerd Actually Danny has said he tries to do it naturally as much as possible, but considering the amount of tears he has had to shed any actor would need "fake" tears now and then.
@AlanRM1000
Yeah, I know, I just wanted to say it.
Why are they all jumping the gun. It is maddening, all for the sake of melodrama.
@phrakta1 From your mouth (or at least your post here) to the ears of the writers. LOL I really think you're right but its killing me to wait.
@bradano Yes it was like watching the best movie ever! And yes everytime I remember that epic episode I feel like crying, it was all so great I have no words. Oh and Danny started giving that kind of performances way before court: cmoing out to Paddy, suicide attempt,...

So that wasn't depressing.
I can see this very quickly heading down an assisted suicide storyline... but surely they wouldn't do that to Jackson?
@Sophieepie it is sad and broke all of ours.
I guess the thing we have to remember is Life always throws us a curveball sometimes and we have to doge it or hit it. Personally we have to look at What the writers are doing here. Jackson didn't do this on purpose. He really doesn't want Anyone to baby him or treat him with kid gloves. He needs cold hard facts and what he needs to know to carry on
@EmilOliverAlexander Remember Jackson isn't able to feel anything from his neck down.
@jodezak Still doesn't mean I am not pissed, BIGTIME, at the writers and cried like a baby. My head may understand the logic of character development, but my heart is breaking. :(

So Devastating, but if he's paralyzed from the neck down, shouldn't he be on
a breathing machine, like Christopher Reeve was ?
Aaron growing up more & more, and have begun to find his place in the world. Who is he and what he is .. I mean.. not just as a young gay guy but what he is to people. People love and care about him, I think he is more comfortable with it now.

@streetwedding Haha I didn't even notice that... good eyes.
Pfft I don't like what the writers have done to Jackson, Yeah we all knew Jackson wasn't a permanent fixture at Emmerdale but this fucking sucks
I know it's a Soap (thank goodness, so Jackson might recover) but they haven't shown them checking his torso or anything for feeling..
