Congrats on the sponsor! And great video. Lots of really useful resources here!
One resource I've greatly appreciated is actually a history book called The Dawn of Everything by David Graeber and David Wengrow. I make this suggestion mostly for those interested in worldbuilding. The book discusses a lot of tropes and ideas about real human history (many of these are from the Enlightenment) that inform literary tropes. Just to be clear, the book is about the history and archaeology, not the fiction. But if someone wants to worldbuild in ways to stray from a lot of the common cliches, I'd recommend reading this book. Reality is often stranger than fiction and I was amazed how some of our fundamental assumptions about early human history are sometimes straightforwardly contradicted by the archaeological evidence. As a bonus, the book is astonishingly easy to read despite being academically rigorous. Total banger, 10/10.

I love that you cover so many possible aims and goals of writing and worldbuilding in this guide, from beginners to semi-pro. It's a nice reminder that we're all in the game together!

I don't even know where to begin on the things to say about this video and what it offers! Well, I'm clearly too ambitious I suppose. Been finding an unyielding brain worm of a story working it's way up into something that's everything I want to do with a story. But I'd like to tell it in the form of a webcomic - meaning I'll have to wear a LOT of hats to execute anything somewhat coherent and compelling. While I've found countless craft books about art, anatomy, drawing and even composition of frame, texture and color - this video single-handedly guided me straight to amazing sources for writing improvement and even the unseen life of the world surrounding the characters. This video was like a highway! Thank you!
I'm obsessed with the concept of storytelling itself and the deeper implications it has for the human subconscious and our inherent unspoken desire to conceptualize and understand topics that we can't quite articulate on our own - and from these stories is born a deeper understanding of these concepts we just conceptualized. And it sounds like some of these books will outline the framework to do just that. Guide me to package something I'm trying to understand myself. The worldbuilding stuff is a nice auxiliary context for the main course and it's wonderful to see a whole niche community I can add to my list of eclectic interests. Thanks again!
I even saw a recommended video of geology and gems, so now I HAVE to check that out as I have a setting that an arc will take place in a city of gems. I just need a tinge of inspiration to unfurl a whole array of ideas to incorporate into that setting. Speaking of arcs, I noticed that didn't come up once in the video. I'm surprised that not one of these books urged you to point it out (maybe I missed it).

I am so glad you enjoyed this video and my recommendations! Hopefully they help you on your journey. Storytelling has so many possibilities. It's truly wonderful.
As for arcs, assuming you mean story arcs, a lot of the books I mentioned provide a specific story structure or a general look at them, and some discuss character arcs specifically. Save the Cat, Anatomy of Story, and Story all talk about specific structures for example.

And I thought I had read a lot of craft books, lol... I think I've read like 6. Which, to be fair, is a lot for someone like myself who doesn't actually write. But wow. You've read so many.
