Going by the description of amerterasu...what will catch fire is the object beyond the window as it combusts what you are focusing on. Amerterasu doesn't travel as some sort of invisible force, it just materializes black fire at what the opponent is focusing on. So amerterasu should be able to target the user inside susano.

+Swagkage you forgot Kagutsuchi can also extinguish Amaterasu, a feat that Itachi can't do but Sasuke can.
The first time Kagutsuchi was introduced was when Sasuke extinguished his own Amaterasu to save his Taka members during the fight with Killer Bee, that's how he discovered he can control his black flames after he casts them.
Remember how Itachi put out his Amaterasu when he fought Sasuke? Your explanation would fit the description of Kagutsuchi quite well, though since Itachi can put out the flames too and he doesn't even have the ability to shape them by will... Kagutsuchi is something different than just putting out the flames and extinguishing them

And you're forgetting the newest Sasuke's secret technique in Road To Boruto: he shots a bunch of arrows with the susano'o, after that he creates 9 chibaku tensei, then he sets them into fire with the amaterasu using the inferno style (I prefer that name XD), and finally, he launches the 9 burning chibaku tensei to his opponent. That technique can bee seen from outer space, and destroys a part of the planet. That's a broken, but cool jutsu

Very nice video but I think you forgot to mention that Jiraiya sealed away some black flames in his encounter with Itachi. Thats one way to counter it. Space time jutsu is also effective at wisking it away as obito did via kamui.

Amaterasu was blocked by a chakra cloak. Which counts as an OP ability since that's only been seen by Jinchuuriki. And Naruto still had to get rid of the chakra that was hit by it, if he hadn't discarded it, Amaterasu would have burned through it and then burned him.

Please, inspect Sasuke's abilities in the newest iterations of Naruto franchize. Because he seems somehow... weaker then before, compared to when he was fighting Kaguya and then Naruto?
He has one arm now, so no regular hand seals. His rinne-sharingan takes *ages* to "reload". Despite his supposedly preserved abilities, he lets one of the Orochimaru's failed experiments endanger his daughter and wife in the manga, and then gets his ass kicked by a "Kaguya wannabe" alien in the movie.
Has he became softer? Did siphoning power from the nine bijuus at the same time taken a toll on him long-term-wise?
Roman S he didn't get his butt kicked. he was doing great against both of the otsutsukis. he was also fighting them alone and when fighting the combined red guy, for plot, he only used v1 susanoo
Roman S momoshiki and kinshiki are confirmed to be more powerful than kaguya. he fought kinshiki alone and wasn't phased at all. he no longer needs hand signs.
he can do hand signs with one hand.
Roman S first of all sasuke doesn't have and never has had a rinne sharingan u mean rinnegan and no he didnt get his ass kicked he was on par and wasn't even phased by kinshiki who is as strong as Kagyua
