@@christianbugatticg Lol,,,, I'll say one thing for GM and Mopar they never had those stupid striker bushings.. Why Ford did that I have no idea. I have a 67' Galaxie 500 fastback and the doors close like bank vaults and will never need a bushing....
Polishing is certainly different than it was back in my day. Back in the 70’s & 80’s we used large heavy buffers with 3M super duty rubbing compound. What a mess! It looked great when you were done though. Stupidly we didn’t use ear protection or a respirator. Amazingly I’m still alive!
I remember as a kid using a one speed high speed buffer with a wool pad. Every time you busted out a new wool pad and used it you looked like a sheep when you were done.
@@christianbugatticg I had somehow forgotten that. I was buffing a car and my boss was annoying me. I angled the buffer just right and covered him with compound.
These paint corrections are great. As you know, the edges are the easiest to burn. Oh, and that car is nice too. I do think you guys are above most dealers.
@@christianbugatticg yeah, bill you and whoever works with you are an A in the classic car business. I have seen/ lived it and all the gimmicks. I think you try to find the cleanest examples, and improve them as much as you can. No doubt. Are you the best ever, maybe, maybe not, but you are up there. Best I seen online no doubt about that. but your approach and the apparent care of these cars and your willingness to throw a couple bucks where it needs to go on these 40- 50 year old cars is the right thing to do. Make it right - ask the money. Hold out if you have to for a quality car
The difference is like night and day, all those swirl marks have gone the final satges will realy make this paintwork pop. As i have said before, very few sellers come even close to your standards Bill. I just wish that i lived in the USA.
@@christianbugatticg Your hard work and standards are appreciated. Where else can you find cars that are restored to this level ? I have seen plenty at car shows that are nowhere near what you achieve.
@@christianbugatticg I am sure there are other dealers who prep cars to a high standard. If you are interested there is a UK auction house that has a channel on UA-cam called "WB & Sons", they have an excellent 65 Ford Thunderbird Custom Air Ride in one of their latest video's all it requies is some tlc to the paintwork. A very rare car in the UK especially in this condition.
You are a master of your craft. Bravo 👏
Thanks Paul!
