Isn't she technically a Long Hair Belgian Shepherd? German Shepherd purists (at least here in Australia) distinguish between the two - say no, they are not the same breed.

Thank you so much for doing your training videos. People do not understand they can be the cause of the way their dog acts. You work so well with your dogs. I have 2 GSD and they are wonderful family members. Mine go everywhere I can bring them. Thank you for showing how to be in control of your dog without being abusive. Keep being you. Never stop helping dogs. They need more people like you to help them with people. I'm sorry if I blame people more then the dog but I've always felt that way. It's not the dogs fault.

@The Dog Daddy. If u are ever in Tx or can we 📧u to get help? I'm 55 & pretty familiar w/dogs. My 14yr old furbaby passed on the 17th Dec 2019. Yeah, it hit me harder than usual. But I finally got another Rescue in June'21 & am dealing w/an issue I've nvr dealt w/b4. Inside she's very fearful vs outside where she's great. It's getting to where I've realized that if i can't keep her confident & feeling safe inside, I'm not giving her the best life (that all dogs deserve).

Being a vet tech and seeing u rescue these dogs that otherwise may have been put down due to being locked up in a kennel, never been socialized, and behavior problems, this warms my heart. This breed is by far my favorite. I love his show and thisjust summarizes and lays out all of the basic methods he uses on the show. What i love about this guide ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxKkYeOoCV_w2vPX0CSyVWkhew2c4FYk0d is that you don' need to read the whole book cover to cover ... You can skip to the chapter (lesson) you want to read about. The book is arranged almost as a problem-solving guide ... Here is the problem and here is what you need to know/do to correct it. This man knows his stuff ... But more importantly knows how to teach people how they can work with their pups themselves!

I'm so glad you are showing this as most people get a similar experience when rescuing a pet and when I've fostered. One of mine I got at 7 months and only ever lived in a kennel run, on his 1st walk he ran back to the house because next door had a small dog statue in the yard. I always let my older alpha (after some days of acclimation) help teach my new dogs walking, dog door etc.

American trainers and from what I understand, even European trainers are convinced somehow that purely positive is the way to go....but I have been training horses for 30 years and I know that you have to play with an animal's emotions when training and that is done with pressure and praise. Currently, I am working in the world of IPO/IGP/Schutzhund - and I have to say thank you for coming out and not being afraid to show people what it takes to fix problems.

I agree with you! But I believe we are also very sensitive just like animals but A) we are being bombarded with media and other desensitizing programming to keep masses obedient and *oblivious* , and B) the result of 'A' is that people are disconnected and unable to identify why they feel what they feel and are therefore unable to change their associates and environment to make their life happy and fulfilling.
IMHO the best way to fix this is to UNPLUG completely (no media or radio, especially advertising, phone only for text and call) for at least 3 full months and get outside even when it's freezing or very hot. Go to a new park or other outside location every week. Even if you are just out in the backyard, get outside every day when you have no destination (not on your way to work or the store etc) for at least 15 minutes and no screens. Work up to 30 min, then an hour, then 2, 3 and so on. It takes 3 months to start truly healing the pathways damaged by too much tech input.
Most of all tune in spiritually by reading God's word and praying and meditating and asking for truth.
Best to everyone as you disconnect to RECONNECT 🥰🤗

If you are learning, watch Dog Daddy’s constant control of the lead. His hand moves up and down the leash in order to keep it loose and then apply pressure with the least effort on his part. It becomes natural when you practice. One of the most important lessons for people is letting them walk WITH my dog. Most people have never experienced the pleasure of an obedient pup, first hand.

It makes me so sad when I see dogs resorting to very negative even dangerous behaviors just begging their owners to take control. Just like a toddler acting out but with strength that can be dangerous. I don't believe there are any bad dogs! They just need directions and boundaries 🥰

Getting down was a whole different story, first time it took my GSD to help incourage him, with me sitting on the steps, he came down on his belly. After that the game was on, running up the stairs, around through the bathroom around the beds, back down, around the living room, and back up.

I'm hooked! Can't stop watching your channel. March 2022 I adopted a dog whose owner passed away. The 2 yr. old male pit-mix had been kept in an outdoor kennel for a year with apparently no affection of exercise outside of the kennel. I am certainly no dog trainer, so it was a rough road getting him able to live inside and become "house trained." Walking him in the neighborhood where he didn't want to attack every neighbora dog at their fence, until I realized he was probably feeding off my anticipation of him "acting out." Tomorrow I will have had him a year and 3 months. He is a great guard dog, loyal, smart and playful.

I ‘ve been binge watching your videos and love the energy you give off.
I am a first time shepherd owner. One who did no research on the breed and jumped in head first. Literally saw him on line, an hour later took the 7 hour drive into another state and picked up him and drove right back home. I would NOT advise anyone do this, ever. It has been a lesson learned for me and still learning. He is nearing 2 years old now and it’s not been easy. He will be 2, May 20th.
With that being said, I soon realized that I needed help and took him to a trainer. She’s a great trainer but not a trainer who has been to my home or out on walks with us in my neighborhood. He knows his basic commands such as sit, down, stay, look, off, wait and a few more. Even so, when he sees another dog he reacts, not all of the time but, he does react.this I have not been able to break him of. It’s ridiculous,. I can’t bring him anywhere where I know there will be other dogs because of how he reacts. I do take him on walks, will take him to a pet store with us but, Im always on high alert. He will be good for the longest time and then out of nowhere he reacts. Im missing something and I don’t know what it is. I would love to get another go but, cant because of him.
Im not an askhole. I. Am willing to do whatever it takes to break him of this , I just don’t know how. I need a trainer who understands the breed and is willing to work with us in our home, neighborhood and areas where other dogs will be.
