I am familiar with the concept. I do ductwork in the commercial field and deal with AHU, VAV, Fan coils and other various equipment. That to say I have seen a lot of coils for steam and hot water.
Will you be going through the entire HVAC system in the next vid including air exchange and other components? Curious what the whole system looks like.
So if I understand the process. You have a 2" foam with vapor barrier membrane on top of graded gravel with 6" concrete overlay. Wouldn't you want the heat closer to the top half of the slab instead of the bottom for better heat distribution? Noting that you will have to make allowances for partition wall attachment ahead of time.

Edit Question. How would you go about affixing partition walls to a slab with hydronics?
If the slab were thick enough, then traditional fasteners might still be the way to go but since the outcome is extremely negative if anything goes wrong I'm trying to learn other ways before I do my own project.
What does the Veiga board sitting on top of? Is it just crushed stone or sand?
What thickness and R value would be the best for a two car garage where the concrete would be 4 inch thick and the floor heated with PEX Tubing?
My son a contractor and myself are doing a total restoration project in Stonington CT and are going to have radiant heat installed in LL basement, and 1st and 2nd floors throughout. We are considering a Viega system and Warm Board System. Can someone give me a honest comparison on one over the other. I have been told that plumbing/heating contractors always recommend Viega system because the have large markup and make much more money than if they just install a Warm Board system. Someone please help as we are also getting ready to build our custom 2800 sq ft one level home starting this year. thanks for your help. dan

An electric radiant system that you can tile or carpet over. Schluter and other companies manufacturer them.

What would you do to frame walls on such a floor? Pour a concrete footer then add a sole plate?
I ran into this issue with another product. Could not drill or nail into the slab. We had an engineering test done, and glued the bottom plate to the concrete. I'm curious to see what they will do here.

Why couldn’t you use 3-5” concrete anchors/ Molly’s? Especially if the slab is 6”. Shouldn’t be a problem framing walls on a floor with this system. You could use glue as well. I would go with both.
What happens to the pex tubing floor if power failure leads to low freezing temperatures?
My floor heat has a anti-freeze product added to a closed loop system.

No floor drain in garage. Must not get alot of snow.
Willson Hallaway Adding a floor drain to a garage requires an oil water separator tank. There’s not a lot of snow coming into the garage and whatever does will either evaporate on the heated floor or drain out towards the door since the slab is pitched

After installing a few systems it gets pretty straightforward. As convenient as this "puck" system is...I prefer a different install. First thing on top of the ground is vapor barrier...you can go right up the walls if you wish. Next is 2 inch high density foam...the pink board. Next is wire mesh for concrete structure. Next is pex thats zip tied to the wire. At that point it's a standard pour. As they noted...protect the pex as it enters and exits the concrete floor with a simple sleeve. Mine is 22 years old and still 100%. No fancy puck board...sorry Vega..is necessary..and you get COMPLETE concrete filling around the tubing.
