Absolute goosebumps, amazing piece I love it. Ever since the first time I heard it at the Brandon Jazz Festival in Brandon, Manitoba, Canada performed by Sixth Wave (it was their opener) and me in 7th or 8th grade at the time, who was as close to a bass as a middle schooler can get, was just amazed and dumbfounded by the bass holding a D2 for the entire piece. If my memory serves me correctly, I also had the pleasure of hearing both rajaton and the real group live in Brandon as well, but it could have been only one of them as that was many years ago. However, neither of them performed Gøta, only Sixth Wave did, which must have been 7th grade so 2013 as it was my first year at the festival. I'm just rambling at this point, but if you've read all the way here, I'll try to list the group's I've seen live in Brandon and try to go in chronological order. Sixth Wave Rajaton M-pact Those Guys (The real group may be in here somewhere) And I'm forgetting one more as I went there for six years 2013-2018 if anyone else happened to have gone there these years, one hey how are ya, and I've probably seen you and you've probably seen me, and two, do you remember who else performed there those years?
And come to think of it, this was probably the last song Peter K sang with TRG as an "Official" member. He's since filled in for small performances (there's 1 UA-cam Christmas performance at someone's house, anyway) when the current tenor couldn't make it.
This was from the farewell concert for Peter K years ago, which is why Margareta is with them. Doubt she associates professionally with the group much since she left.
I had the good fortune to be able to sing this in my choir in 2012. Magical. Always a hit.
I performed this with the mixed choir at International Music Camp back in 2012. It has been one of my favorite choir pieces since.
A mix of my favorite two a cappella groups. I have so much love for this collaboration.
I had the greatest pleasure performing with Rajaton in St John’s Newfoundland at festival 500. Truly awe inspiring musicianship. Talk.
Always when i hear this , i feel sad and happy. Of all the shit in the world , this make me strong. Thx for this

It's written by Peder. The inspiration is folk music from the Faroe Islands. Don't know if he wrote it when he was there or back home.
This is what Nordics culture sounds! Brava!
Прекрасные! Благодарю!

Very nice arrangement. Amazing. In the end I would have inserted an additional major third.
Ultra-primitive - and marvelous. Go the sopranos @ 2:35!

Also, the Real Group’s B2 is my spirit animal 💙👍

Quite difficult for keeping the pitch correct for such big range of scale changes.

í Gøtu ein dag?
yes the first time I played this song was in March 2004 in Gøta with Eivør Pàlsdottir. I wrote the Real Group arrangement later.
Yes sir :-) I had a very inspirational collaboration with Eivør Pàlsdottir in 2002 and 2004.
