You've witnessed a superb demonstration of technical skill, both from the vocalists, picking up on their cues, and the one you don't see - the engineer who's fading and/or canceling the backing recording (of TRG themselves I suspect). Whichever, it is wonderfully done.
0:30 Look at me I'm so helpless as a kitten up a tree And I feel like I'm clinging to a cloud I just can't understand I get misty just holding your hand Walk my way And a thousand violins begin to play Or it might be the sound of your "hello" That music I hear I get misty the moments you're near You can say that you're leading me on But it's just what I want you to do Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost That's why I'm following you On my own Would I wonder through this wonderland alone Never knowing my right foot from my left My hand from my glove I'm too misty and too much in love
@Willco5114 Anders Jalkéus (bass) was just explaining what they'll be doing for the item in swedish: while listening to one of their old records (Misty - Real group Debut Album in 1987) they decided to re-do it for the concert - yet still maintaining the musical Ideas of the original recording.
I have always love Misty. This arrangement of it is mind-blowingly beautiful. I so wish I could find the sheet music arrangement of this. This truely is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard!!!!!
In the 1970s there was a U.S. a capella vocal group, The Gene Puerling Singers; they, too, were quite good as I recall, but none then, or now approaches the synergy, musicianship and artistry of The (original) Real Group. Superlatives do not get close enough, Bravo! and thank you. Please consider a reunion.
Would someone explain what was going on when they stopped singing but the music continued? Otherwise, this is one of the best of many of their songs that I have heard.
Is there anywhere I can find sheet music for this version? Please? Does anyone know? It would be so amazing if I could find a version of this on paper!!!!
+Michigan Bob certainly the best a capella JAZZ group, but if you don't know Rajaton, just listen to them, by the way they use very often to sing together. Of course The Real Group is absolutly not of this world .......but with this other band
This version of The Real Group is great. however I think they lost a huge element of the group when they replaced the tall blond soprano who could get the super high notes.
You COULD sing the correct lyrics. Misty Look at me, I'm as helpless as a kitten up a tree And I feel like I'm clinging to a cloud, I can't understand I get misty, just holding your hand Walk my way, and a thousand violins begin to play Or it might be the sound of your hello, that music I hear I get misty, the moment you're near (BRIDGE) *You can say that you're leading me on But it's just what I want you to do Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost That's why I'm following you On my own, would I wander through this wonderland alone Never knowing my right foot from my left, my hat from my glove I'm too misty, and too much in love I'm too misty, and too much in love (Instrumental interlude and pick up at bridge*.) *You can say that you're leading me on But it's just what I want you to do Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost That's why I'm following you On my own, would I wander through this wonderland alone Never knowing my right foot from my left, my hat from my glove I'm too misty, and too much in love I'm too misty, and too much in love

I´´m spellbound
Why are they using a backing track of themselves? I’m confused Lol.
There used an older recording to compare
It must've been an odd experience for them the first time they performed with their earlier selves in front of an audience ...
Does anyone know where I can buy the sheet music for this piece?
THAT would be EPIC!
UA-cam, Google,
Another voices are Real group of First Album in 1987~8. I think that this concert is in 2004~6
By the look of that stage , the lighting, and backdrop, this is the same concert in which TRG sing 'Words'. Am I correct?
Would someone explain what was going on when they stopped singing but the music continued? Otherwise, this is one of the best of many of their songs that I have heard.
They sang with their earlier selves ;)
wow!! Wow!

It's in the genes 😏

+Christophe MARTINEAU Have you ever listened to the Ringmasters?
This version of The Real Group is great. however I think they lost a huge element of the group when they replaced the tall blond soprano who could get the super high notes.
The soprano has a very thin upper range sound.
If you think he's crazy, listen to chanticleer sing christmas time is here. Low Gb (or Ab I can't remember anymore) sung by eric Alatorre.
There are apparently many more voices behind the curtain. I would like to see them.
It's the five of them, just 20 years younger from an older recording.
,,..flos

(BRIDGE)
*You can say that you're leading me on
But it's just what I want you to do
Don't you notice how hopelessly I'm lost
That's why I'm following you
On my own, would I wander through this wonderland alone
Never knowing my right foot from my left, my hat from my glove
I'm too misty, and too much in love
I'm too misty, and too much in love
(Instrumental interlude and pick up at bridge*.)

Why don't you shut the fuck up and enjoy the music?
Yeah, I'm sure they needed the help. Not!
