- In a lay-by we notice two men eyeing up our motorhome before one of them starts talking to Dan about its value. Was there a plan to try and steal it? Dan certainly thinks so. Watch to see how we deal with the situation.

Dogging is a cancer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a prude and if people want to 'swing' in the privacy of their or someone else's home, that's fine but to do it in public places where others want to use the facilities without being pestered for something else, is disgusting. Some years ago, when dogging was just getting going and I didn't even know it existed (around 1997 I think), I stopped in another layby in Kent (Detling Hill), with trees between it and the road just like this one, because I was desperate for a wee. The moment I parked up, some dodgy looking bloke started walking towards the car. I drove off pronto. Sometime later, a local paper decided to follow up rumours about the car park, so they contacted Kent Police who said it was fine, and they offered to take a journalist up there to prove it was safe. When they got there, they found a naked man tied to a tree in the woods just behind the layby, with a sign round his neck that said 'do whatever you want to me.' After that article, the layby was closed and hasn't been accessible since. Now when I'm out with the family, it doesn't feel safe to stop in any of these places and that's a bit sad.
That was frightening as well as frustrating! Can’t get a bargain everywhere in the UK I see. As long as your both safe...well worth the cost, just have to do it sometimes. Stay safe you two! ❤️❤️❤️
Dan, that happened to me as a very young man.
I told the highway patrol in that area and they told me to stay away from there. And believe me I did! It was so bad they eventually closed the stop!
I have seen vandwellers and motorhome people here in the states by a device that they mount in an upper corner of the motorhome and it will bring in Wi-Fi up to five miles away like from a McDonald's or something of that sort that's public.

Yes, I've heard about that in N. Devon. The council closed the truck stop on BOTH sides of 'The Atlantic Way' just on the SW edge of Barnstaple about 4 years ago. Keep on 'truckin' somewhere else.....
I'm working in gravesend and live 20mins away in gillingham. I wouldn't leave it unattended as quite alot of vehicles have been stolen lately around here

Those guys walking up and down, they probably weren't looking to steal your campervan but were probably hoping you two were swinger/doggers and were just looking to have a good time watching/joining in. Either way its a good thing you two got out of there, you wouldn't want to be stuck in an awkward situation if real doggers showed up lol.
Definitely get out of that area now, you can sense when an area doesn't seem normal fairly quickly. I'd be checking to make sure you're not being followed too!

I think those guys wanted to be dogging spectators. The lorries were a bit tall for spectators on foot. If they had been carrying a ladder or portable hunting hide, you would know for certain that's what they wanted.
Buddy Chartrand Which is illegal as its causing distress to innocent public stopping in the lay by which is public highway they have no right to try to groom others in to unwanted practice ,no respect , probably aggressive if confronted and definitely unbalanced behaviour .

We had the same happen to us on a layby a month ago. Quite freaky and we did the same, moved on smartish. Ended up stopping on a camping site the night to calm Jan down a bit. B*****ds aren't they? You have to trust your gut feeling with these things and just drive off. Don't risk anything. Glad you're both okay. 👍
Many Fun Adventures people should report it as if there sordid activity causes public distress then the police will act ,the evidence clearly shows suspicious behaviour ,feel sorry for people were this happens ,poor Mazzy wants to leave and Danny ,Its not right .
Be very careful , there's been alot of stealing of camper Vans,I've seen on fbook, & these thieves don't care even if your in it . One couple last year , had their van pinched from a motorway parking area , & they woke up & found themselves on the floor outside , the thieves had used sleeping gas which they put into their vents , which you can't smell , so please be careful . I had exactly the same happen to me on the outskirts of Yorkshire parked for the night and then a fella starts looking around the bus , then another and another so I rings a pal I know who lives fairly close and he starts crying on the phone and asked if I was still married then explained where I had parked. Me being me having parked many times in the wrong lay by knew that by midnight the dog walkers :) would all be gone what I did not realise was that the big luton van parked up top of layby would work as a huge shadow screen everytime a bloody car went past and I could see black silhouette figures walking said dogs :0 :) until midnight .
I have an uncanny nack of parking in these on numerous times much to the amusement of most people I know apart from her indoors who thinks I am jinxed and a sandwich short of a full picnic as I am yet to park in one that is not a male to male dog walking club shall I say :0 :( .

I bought my camper in August this year. Used it 2 or 3 times. It was stolen in October this year. And the thief wrecked it down into a ravine. It was found within hours of the theft and I got it back the next day. It now has a big gash in the top front corner. The door was destroyed because someone sawed their way into the camper. The thief used a stolen truck to steal my camper. The truck was found a few miles away. The thief got away. Grrrrr!

Motorhomes are in most cases worth more than high end cars. Your more likely to be stopped checked by the Police in a high end car. My best advice is installing a tracker and a full steering wheel cover. Yes, it’s probably overkill but be rest assured, thieves want an easy life. That’s why they steal. They don’t want to save, work, like everyone else.

Dan , look up motorhome Aire in Canterbury, £3.50 a night. Free park and ride bus to beautiful city.
So they have parked in front of you, behind you, asked questions and then parked opposite you...they defo was planning on robbing you..you should have called the police and reported their movements. Dont be surprised if you come across them again..if your van is on their hit list they will watch you and follow from afar....
We are long gone from there. We did have another incident in tomorrows video though.
@@TravelTrollsTV Dan , make sure there are no "trackers" on your van , under,on side , by mirrors, etc. You can buy them pretty cheap and they use their phone to track and get location. It's sneaky, cheap and effective if you're a thief. Might be an over the top reaction, but I would be safe than sorry. They have apps to check for electronic trackers. Or take it to police and ask them to check. ya never know, they might be very cool with it. AND take motorhome to a carwash and blast the crap out of it with soapy hot water everywhere twice. your ban will be very clean if nothing else. Be very safe and careful.

I'm a lorry driver, and I often have to do knights out, on one occasion in Nottingham i had a knock on the door at 22:00 pm, upon opening my curtain and window just a smidge i could see a very large man about 6'3", who proceeded to ask me if I was up for a bit of fun 😱, my jaw nearly fell through the floor when his "friend " popped his head out of the bushes and asked if i was having it or what 🤣🤣😱😱😱😱😱, needles to say i quickly declined their offer 🤣🤣🤣🤣

That was quite funny to watch because I don't live far from there and know the area very well. Rochester is actually quite nice but agree there are many parking restrictions where you were. We had our caravan stolen off our drive a year ago so you were definitely right to be wary! Gravesend is a no go area although I'm not sure about the 'dogging' situation because I have never taken our dogs there! Stay safe guys. Love the vids.

The guy is probably going to take a photo of your Moho then put it up for sale on Ebay, they are scammers beware!, they will use false plates in the add. This happens quite often to many Moho owners.
Here in the states, we have what are called rest stops / areas. I've long heard that these particular places draw folks intent on a rendezvous, I presume of both sorts. In my travels, I have stopped to use the ladies facility, but never alone and not after dark. People used to be able to pull in and sleep to get off the road. Not sure if they still allow it, or whether anyone still would care to, with the illicit behavior and potential for crime. It's a different time and a different world. Safe travels.

I would not stay any where near the Medway towns in a Motorhome, you will wake up in the morning with your wheels gone 😩 and Gravesend is just has bad, you have made the right choice staying in the camp site. We live about 20mins from where your staying at Bearsted. Stay safe my friend 😎👍🏻

Re wifi go to O2 and buy a myfi and no matter where you go you have wifi we take ours everywhere we go in the car, in the motorhome even in a holiday lodge cost very low each month well we only pay £11.00 month you wont be disappointed.
