Yerba Matte tea glass! You leave the matte leaves in the cup and drink through the straw so you dont end up drinking the leaves as well. Very common in asia/middle east also sometimes south america

Hi guys! Amazing episode. The little pumpking it's a mate. It's name comes from the herb that we both Uruguaians and argentinians use as an infusion to drink, with the straw (bombilla). It's considered a social ritual.
You were exactly right! Tea cup and straw. Inexpensive online.
I have an old set like that, it's for tea. Put tea leaves in the cup with water, let it seep and drink it with the straw. I've never seen another since I bought mine many many years ago.

Mate.... the gourge is a”drinking cup” it is filled with yerba mate, aromatic leaves.and hot water is added every time someone drinks it.you must drink through the straw ,callad a bombilla. It is a very traditional tea type drink ,very,very popular in Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. People get together ,and the mate is passed around

Would have loved to have that Yerba cup and straw. I have a much smaller set. They can be quite valuable dependent on age and attributes. That one was newer, but still lovely.
I think if there were a silver mark on it (Karen was looking) she would have bought it.. but like you say, it's a newer one and probably not as valuable.. and also being that we weren't sure what it was, we passed LOL

To tell if that map tapestry was old, like you do for globes, look at Eastern Europe. If Czechoslovakia is not there, it's at least vintage. If west Germany is there, the same!

Fur of one sort or another is actually fairly common in hat making. Here in Australia we have an expensive hat company, Akubra, the hats are made from rabbit skins. Very durable, I have had needed two in twenty years. Being made from beaver might make a hat fairly water proof too. Stetsons are made from beaver, rabbit, and wild hare. All animal furs are felted to give the smooth, tight finish. Not much difference really to using wool or leather. If you look up fur felt hat you will find hundreds :)

Love the hat. Back in my younger years, I trapped a lot. At one time there was good money in it. Beaver was also baked in oven like roast. Very tasty. Lord, that use to be some fun times. I also tanned my own hides when I wanted to make things. Brought back GOOD memories!!! ROCK ON!!!!!

I have two sets. One is made from a gourd like that, with a painting of Argentinian cowboys,
The second is porcelain(?) and just beautiful! My dear brother in law brought them back from a business trip to Argentinia.
Tea is steeped in the cup, then they drink through the straw to strain as they go. Apparently it’s a common item there.
You guys always have so much fun while picking!! These are the memories thay you will always retain!!

at 11:20 in the video when your asking the lady was the object is and the lady said it was left behind by a teenage Argentinian exchange student/house guest. I thought to myself, you know I think I know what the object is. It's an Argentinian tea cup and metal tea straw to sip your tea from the cup.
I cracked up when you put the cowboy hat on backwards! Yup, it does make a difference on how it feels on your head. I was a cowgirl for many years ... as that lady said, "You look like a Dude." I think she meant cowboy. Lol Karen, now it's your turn, let us see how you look?!

Inside beaver hat in rim is a tag that should say 5x beaver or whatever number. That represent how more expensive. Higher the number more $$$$$
