As someone who also has easy access to both 7-11 and Lawson, I share your sentiments too. Lawson has had a lot of misses lately; and surprisingly, 7-11's menu is getting better, especially their limited time offerings. But for me, Uncle John's (rebranded from Ministop) still takes the cake as the best convenience store here in the Philippines. Their fried chicken easily blows 7-11 out of the water.

Embosilog is a portmanteau for the individual components of the dish: embotido (meat loaf cooked by wrapping in aluminum foil then steamed); sinangag (garlic fried rice), and itlog (egg). Traditional -silog (used as a suffix because there are a couple of different combinations) dishes use a sunny side up egg.

Filipino food is mostly a combination of salty, sweet and sour (either from vinegar or a sour fruit like tamarind). You'll encounter any of the possible combinations like sweet and sour, sweet and salty, sour and salty, a little bit sour with salt, a little bit salty with sour, and even all three: equally sweet, salty and sour. etc. The sweet isn't like candy sweet, more like savory sweet like orange chicken.

Seven and i Holdings don’t care much for their franchises outside of Japan. Reason why Japan’s is so much better is because of their regulation when it comes to food which promotes quality. They source their food from local vendors which prioritizes quality accordingly. Outside of Japan local governments don’t regulate quality, only enough that the food doesn’t poison people.

You can also try eating at Goldilocks with their savory meals. Not all branches serve them though as they mainly serve cales. I recall the megamall branch serve savory rice meals and you can dine-in

The Sausage in that Embosilog is actually Embotido which is closer to a home made meatloaf than a sausage.

7-11 sisig is a life saver of many college students, since it is cheap. The look of it is not that appetizing, but the taste is decent for its price. Also, Uncle John or Ministop has the best fried chicken, it is better than 7-11.

During my 1st year of my previous job, I ate the 711 sisig like almost every shift😅. Graveyard shift there means no more meal, everything sold out. I get regular sisig during regular days and jumbo when sahod days. My friends don't like it though😂😂
