This collab was SO GOOD. Suga approached Psy with the beat and wanted to produce for him and Psy gradually swindled him into featuring, performing, and being in the MV. Psy is a genius lol.
Hah, hearing that story made me think of Suga getting into BTS. He originally just wanted to produce but then they got him into the group and told him he didn't have to dance that much, poor boy haha

This kind of Kpop is what originally drew me to the genre, it's fun and joyful music. While the vast majority of musicians in the West are doing heavy and dark themes, Psy throws this bop and it reminds us that life can be fun.
Let's here be honest, psy is the one who introduced me to the kpop genre, before psy, I didn't even know what kpop is. And now it feels so good to see two people, the nostalgic one and the current person (or grp) I like,to collab. It's something I wasn't expecting, especially the fact that it was produced by suga himself.

The birds "photo bombed" the shoot at the best time. Suga and Psy's reaction to seeing the birds in the behind the scenes shoot was the best☺️💜
@Mirsty I think as the camera was recording them the birds came in view at the same time.. they wouldn't have noticed it because they're focusing on the camera.. They found out after the camera man/staff told them as the birds flew away.
You won't be able to retake that shot if you messed up, I think it's a pretty lucky thing to happen

One thing you may have missed: Psy in the blue suit represents his gangnam style era, who Suga kills to make room for the new Psy

I mean yeah Psy is more than just Gangnam Style. I may not know all his songs but I have heard a few songs and they’re good. It may not be your type of music but his songs scream Psy, and Suga produces this song perfectly for Psy.
Fun fact: the birds in the back at 6:22 were unplanned, if you look at the behind the scenes video they had only noticed the birds after shooting that scene.
Unplanned? Of course I am wondering how someone COULD plan a flock of birds, other than CGI. It was quite a happy coincidence for sure.

The moment I saw the choreo in this video I immediately thought of Jordan’s Dance Therapy. Kudos to Psy for wearing purple at the end. I’m sure that the BTS Army appreciated that little touch. The car in the video is the same as the one the Suga’s in, in Agust D’s “Daechwita” - I wonder what the symbolism around the car was for both Suga and Psy? Since Lumpens directed this video, I’m sure that it was no coincidence. It also felt like the song is the perfect continuation of Permission to Dance, which also had a Western motif, and took the concept from a post pandemic “mixer” to a full-blown post pandemic party. I love how Psy breathed in the fresh air at the start of the video. Despite the disparate story arcs it feels like Daechwita, Dynamite (the hand pistol “pah” that both Jimin and Psy did), Permission to Dance and That That told a really cohesive story of perhaps what the director was experiencing during the pandemic.

The director for both MVs is Lumpens so maybe that has something to do with It. Also the theme of celebrating that pandemic is ending
while they both have the same themes, the concept is completely differen.t i love both takes on the western cowboy, but other than that the colour pallette, designs, dance, directing, even the editing is different. lets say its permission to dance's sequel, where everyone celebrates the end of the pandemic after going through it during permission to dance.

The fun thing was that the birds weren’t even planned they took a couple shots for that part and when PSY and the crew noticed the birds once the recording was done they kept that shot in 😭they were laughing and shocked

I mean I could say that it was because he used to be in yg ent. but I think it's just him and his whole style. for a lot of people, psy was the first kpop song they technically heard (OPPA GANGNAM STYLE) WITHOUT THIS MAN KPOP MIGHT HAVE NOT BROKEN INTO THE WEST UNTIL LIKE... Gangnam Style was actually my first kpop song, but I didn't really think about getting into kpop with this song. I just thought it was a fun and cool song and moved on with my life. It wasn't until 2018 when I became apart of the kpop fandom.

The bird scene was actually a coincidence. They were shooting this scene and the flock was just randomly flying behind them and they thought that it was cool so they went that cut.

For the bird scene shot, it was actually by coincidence. In a Behind the Scenes vid of the MV, when they were filming that scene, a flock of birds just happened to pass by. Psy loved it so much that he wanted to keep it in the vid.

I really love his performance of the song on music shows as well. PSY does really fun entrances and the whole first verse is usually a one take before it cuts to the chorus on stage. It's so entertaining and such a catchy song.

Finally I wanted to say I've been waiting for Psys comeback for ages and if it wasn't for him ba k in 2012 I would've not gotten into kpop.
Secondly I love how he worked along with yoongi and got him not only produce but also to be in the MV but to also dance aswell.
Yoongi id my all time fav rapper in the entire music industry and someone I can truly relate too.
Thirdly I am in love with the cowboy concept and vibe of the MV and I have always loved the wild west vibe.
The whole choreo is just like Psy (if you seen his earlier qork you will k ow what I mean) the beat is upbeat and just makes me want to get up and dance along and another thing "that that" chorus is just so catchy as it has been stuck In my head since I first heard it in the teasers.
