Hello , i have the same problem , connector off in my developer office account , can you explain the last step that you did , after you create the connector , it seems like it's still off but i don't get what do you do with the mx toolbox
if you use the hybrid environment, the authentication password is the password for the user account in active directory, if you use office 365 account, then you can reset password for the user in azure active directory console.

the developer acccount cannot have the connector on, the Office E3 account can.
