Notes: Recently I performed a revised rendition of this piece in Hollywood, obviously with the main point preserved, for "Motion Theory," a Production company in Venice, CA. The scene was shot on New York Street, Paramount studios, Hollywood. At this point, the film may take up to 6 months to produce (scoring, animating, etc). I'm pretty pumped to see the finished result... I have a feeling it will be more powerful than this fuzzy, in-class video, though I hope you still found this original version moving. See pics & read a little about the filming at Paramount.
    Description of this video:
A businessman on the second tower of the World Trade Centers experiences the United States worst terrorist attack.
Pretty heavy duty in tone, this piece I performed to fulfill the "Serious Sketch" assignment for TA 277 [Mime] at Whitworth College/University (Comparably my miming abilities have improved dramatically, though I still have a lot to learn!). I approached this piece with traditional pantomime essentials, such as music, costume, etc. Filmed by Thomas Robinson from Cannon Beach OR, an Art major at Whitworth University. I ought to mention that Robinson is not necessarily 'used' to film (hence the digital camera that was used); his cup of tea is primarily still photography. Here's a sample gallery of his work: gallery.ecola.us/ )
Created and performed by Chevassus Studios: www.Chevassus.org

this is really good because when my teacher showed it in class, she hadn't told the title and I also hadn't seen it, and when the guy was running down the stairs I was like 'is this about 9/11?' so it's really good

I never thought a mime could bring me to tears! You sir have taken what is probably the most lampooned art form and taken it to an entirely new level. Thank you so much for your work an passion for it has brought to me powerful emotions. Thank you sir!

Just just came across this piece linked to in an old post. Wanted to comment to let you know how utterly moving and impactful it still is. I was in college at Berkeley during the attack, and my roommate and I got up and haphazardly switched on the news as we got breakfast ready and were fllored by what we were seeing. That is had already happened by the time we woke up didn't change the impact. We gave up on breakfast as we wept.
When we went out into the streets everyone everywhere was crying and holding each other in groups trying to find some solace and some sense. I wish it weren't only massive tragedies that seem to bring people together like this, but your art is beautiful and moving and I cried all over again. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing the version 2 from your perromance in LA. Thank you so much for performing this and sharing it with folks on this accessible platform.

that was moving, i can only imagine the last hour of the lives of my 9 friends who perished, im sure there was a roller coaster of emotionsand events( fear, pain, panic,fright/flight heroics denial and saddness.) i love them all and will remember them always with happiness and saddness- thank you for this

True mime is very difficult and many who claim to do it today rely on the words of the music rather than body language to express their message. While the music in this sketch enhances his message, the story could stand alone and still be understood. Thank you for this sensitive portrayal.

I used to think mimes were only street performers, that they were all just funny business. But after seeing this, this almost made me cry. I can see the passion when he acted everything out. It was perfect. It left me very speechless.
