Notes: Recently I performed a revised rendition of this piece in Hollywood, obviously with the main point preserved, for "Motion Theory," a Production company in Venice, CA. The scene was shot on New York Street, Paramount studios, Hollywood. At this point, the film may take up to 6 months to produce (scoring, animating, etc). I'm pretty pumped to see the finished result... I have a feeling it will be more powerful than this fuzzy, in-class video, though I hope you still found this original version moving. See pics & read a little about the filming at Paramount.
Description of this video:
A businessman on the second tower of the World Trade Centers experiences the United States worst terrorist attack.
Pretty heavy duty in tone, this piece I performed to fulfill the "Serious Sketch" assignment for TA 277 [Mime] at Whitworth College/University (Comparably my miming abilities have improved dramatically, though I still have a lot to learn!). I approached this piece with traditional pantomime essentials, such as music, costume, etc. Filmed by Thomas Robinson from Cannon Beach OR, an Art major at Whitworth University. I ought to mention that Robinson is not necessarily 'used' to film (hence the digital camera that was used); his cup of tea is primarily still photography. Here's a sample gallery of his work: gallery.ecola.us/ )
Created and performed by Chevassus Studios: www.Chevassus.org
this is really good because when my teacher showed it in class, she hadn't told the title and I also hadn't seen it, and when the guy was running down the stairs I was like 'is this about 9/11?' so it's really good
I never thought a mime could bring me to tears! You sir have taken what is probably the most lampooned art form and taken it to an entirely new level. Thank you so much for your work an passion for it has brought to me powerful emotions. Thank you sir!
Just just came across this piece linked to in an old post. Wanted to comment to let you know how utterly moving and impactful it still is. I was in college at Berkeley during the attack, and my roommate and I got up and haphazardly switched on the news as we got breakfast ready and were fllored by what we were seeing. That is had already happened by the time we woke up didn't change the impact. We gave up on breakfast as we wept.
When we went out into the streets everyone everywhere was crying and holding each other in groups trying to find some solace and some sense. I wish it weren't only massive tragedies that seem to bring people together like this, but your art is beautiful and moving and I cried all over again. I've subscribed to your channel and look forward to seeing the version 2 from your perromance in LA. Thank you so much for performing this and sharing it with folks on this accessible platform.
that was moving, i can only imagine the last hour of the lives of my 9 friends who perished, im sure there was a roller coaster of emotionsand events( fear, pain, panic,fright/flight heroics denial and saddness.) i love them all and will remember them always with happiness and saddness- thank you for this
True mime is very difficult and many who claim to do it today rely on the words of the music rather than body language to express their message. While the music in this sketch enhances his message, the story could stand alone and still be understood. Thank you for this sensitive portrayal.
Fellow mime myself. I quite enjoyed this. I think the use of music helped convey the seriousness of the piece. Your physicality is excellent. Bravo.
I used to think mimes were only street performers, that they were all just funny business. But after seeing this, this almost made me cry. I can see the passion when he acted everything out. It was perfect. It left me very speechless.
For a person who love miming this is a true Master Piece. Very moving.
and when you were acting like you were picking up a person, you made it seem so real! great use of emotion also!
We watched this video in drama class. I really think this is a amazing piece of work. It was touching yet entertaining. Thank you so very much.
I was very fortunate to see this video with the only time song. It was very breathtaking with that song. It had me crying. I cannot believe how UA-cam would do such a thing!
Wow...I knew there was an art form behind a mime sketch, but I thought it was always a form of comedy. This video had me in awe. Thank you. I'm now off to educate myself on mimes!
BRAVO! that's the best miming I've ever seen! and Ive seen some pretty good ones. great job! made me wanna cry!
WOW! That was incredibly moving, who couldnot relate to that emotion that day in history. You are truely a talented individual. Two thumbs,..Proud to be American.
Wow that was a great performance and the actions looked so real. That was art right there and it was a nice tribute to those people mourning over lost family and friends due too the 9/11 attack. It was moving...
beauch,
we're studying pantomime in my drama class, and as soon as I found this I showed it to my teacher and my class. they thought you were wonderful! you're up there with marcel Marceau and Red Skelton to me! great job again!
still love this so much...so emotional.
man this is one of the most beautiful but yet sorrowful sketch that i have seen....
amazing. a talent filled with emotion, yet not a word is spoken.
Wow,
Rather emotional, and extremely impressive!
Well done,
and a standing ovation!
this is simply brilliant. There are many tributes to that day, but I think this one realy captures the emotions not only of those involved, but of the whole country.
Probably the best 9/11-themed mime video I've seen in the last 6 months.
To watch this performance it total silence would be so horrific. Amazing display of art.
This is really the most beautiful movie on youtube i ever seen... the music is perfect and the mime is doing very good... you see the heads in his hands it's very real i like it very very much!
My compiments for beauch!!
excellent. the sense of action and movement and visualization were fantastic.
so dramatic. it really captured the emotion of the tragedy of 9/11. bravo. excellent.
Touching. Deep. Intense. Remarkable. All those things and more. Thank you for this.
Incredibly good mime -- it's difficult to do and this piece, with so many elements and sets, must've taken a great deal of concentration. I especially commend you on the shoulder carry. Bravo.
wow, i do mime and your physical movment and separation is amazing!
Very well done.
Inspiring, yet emotional. Thankyou.
Every time i watch this its breathtaking.
I dont understand, to the people hating, wtf this guy is pure talent, and i really believed everything, my jaw dropped becuase i looked back and saw the expression my mom had on her face when she saw the t.v and his, it was just .. i liked it, good job Beau
that was beautiful. it literally did bring tears to my eyes. i'd love to learn how to do something like that now. moving people while performing is something i'd love to live for.
Whoa... Now that was a purebred Marcel Marceau performance. I'm, appropriately enough, speechless.
this is true skill with feeling and music....musch respect.....the sad thing about american is it takes something like this for people to work 2gether! we need to wake up and build 2gether....thank you for this video VERY TUCHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Miss the old song with this 🤦♂
I appreciate how he's trying his best how to illustrate the crash but I'm also trying my best to understand... Really great performance though!
This is a very strong, well preformed peice.
Bravo
Thank you for a wonderful and individual tribute! Very well done!
really moved by your performance, great job !
this brought a limp to my throat. very well done 10/10
This is breathtaking.
Mimes always creep me out but that gave me chills...
I will admit- I wasn't expecting much, because I've always had a 50/50 attitude towards mimes and clowns. However-- This was inspiring, and gave me goosebumps. Thank you for sharing this unique and personal art.

I'm a dude, and this video just made me have to get a tissue to catch a tear so my wife doesn't catch me crying. great job
*Sniff...Sniff...Snnniiiifffff. Okay. I'm better now. This was really awsome. I am glad to know that there are still serious mimes out there. Very well done. Thankyou for posting.
Wow. Excellent stuff. Very touching. It made my eyes water up. 2:29 and on is gorgeous.
That was really great! Plus,I know it says it wasn't meant to be funny, but the beginning was very. The whole: "What's that? Let me just LOOK over there! Oh, oh! There's SOME GLASS IN THE WAY." Good stuff, keep it up!
Not to sound rude, but I normally don't like mimes or Enya, but you pulled off some amazing work here, the song works so well and your acting is flawless, brilliant work.
I often think of this scene. As a high school student then it did help me deal with pain i didn’t understand.
Was the original song an Enya one?
This is so moving, even 18 years after I saw it
DUDE THIS IS SOOOOOOO HILARIOUS!!!!
wow! i have no words to describe what i felt
good work
One word : wonderful.
I lost a good American pal...and I cannot bear to watch this anymore....Enough....We all must remember though..Someone, please bless us all.

That's beautiful man... Thank you.
very emotional.
very good miming.
very fitting.
thank you for the vimeo suggestion. I too was looking for youtube alternative.
That's really really powerful.
what is the title for the this new song?? i loved this by the way so touching
it was well made and very beautiful.
it portrayed the 9/11 perfectly.
although i couldn't understand some mime signs, it was still an awesome presentation.
Well i think the music fits it perfectly, as the song sounds slow and sad which represents 9/11, a sad and depressing time.
that was really phenomenon really great
I like that you made this effort to do this mime, and perhaps it could work better with sound effects? I praise you for your great performance! More political mimes I absolutely encourage from a mime performer myself! Is it possible to mime an inside job???
The song is "Only Time" by Enya
Wow....that was amazing
Nice man. Nice. I wonder who will ask what song this is next?
you did an excellent job, BRAVO
can anyone possibly tell me what the song is? i would like the song to be sung when i die. its so sad. and the miming is excellent work but told a sad story. oh i cried. :(
Omg that was too nice!
ahh this is awsume naver seen anything better!!! btw, wats the song calleed is really good too
In tears.
that was deep. amazing.
I was 17 on sep 11 , 2001. I will never ever forget exactly what I did that day for as long as I live
hey wats the song? and very good video
that was so sad. what song was that. that added a great affect too
Am I making this up or was the background music meant to be "Only Time" by Enya?
I think it was, i couldn’t think if the name but i remember when youtube muted the song
@@itsLemontree sad
I enjoyed the piece better when you had Enya's Only Time playing in the background. Either way it's still an amazing performance.
oh i see, well thnx for replying. seriosuly that was faster than i expected. Also this video is totally awesome, haha, This song that you said was an AudioSwap is a good song, i'll try find it. And if i do. i'll let you, not only you. but everyone thats wanting this song name. i'll tell everyone.

sweet hug
Hey um, can anyone please tell me what the name of this song is?, its not "only time - enya" so please if anyone knows the name of this song please tell me it.
Wow some that guy has serious skill. Well done
That's beautiful
there is not ralation beetwen the music an video, I had to mute sound to see the video
what happened to the old music? this version loses out because of the new music =/
amazingly cooll!!
HILARIOUS!
True; it can be difficult expressing how you feel and what happens by only using your body (which makes miming difficult), but remember that only 7% of communication is what you say...
does anyone know the artist and title of the song used in this?
that was amazing...
