Thank you for this. I just changed my 09 Honda Fit fuel filter yesterday. Screwing that white flange down was the hardest part. Oddly enough the Honda fuel filter assembly came with an extra part. A small white plastic circle. Did not see it on any of my old stuff or in your video. Drives me crazy when there is an extra part. Also to answer others: Disconnect pump, start engine (stalls and dies almost instantly), remove gas cap, then disconnect lines and go to town!
Oh sorry you want to do the hit screwdriver with hammer to take the flange off before disconnecting the fuel lines. I had to do this pretty much the whole way. It would not loosen enough to use my hand until it was almost off.
greetings bro. this is a very helpful video. ive owned a Honda City (TMO) GM2 as we call it in my country. i've dissassembled everything according to the guide you've provided. but was dissapointed as i could not dissassembled the black casing locking the fuel filter. thus, to save some hassle, ive decided to send it to the mechanic to do my halfway job. definitely will try to change completely by my own in the future. cheers mate!
Menor vídeo e o mais bem explicado de todos! Putz!!! Conseguiram mostrar desde a retirada do console central até a troca do filtro propriamente dito. PARABÉNS!!! Eu já estava desistindo de procurar, agora eu mesmo vou trocar. 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
@@basiliss555 Still not a good solution. I could be placed at the engine bay ! This is a very very poor solution. Totally not user friendly for a cheap car like an Honda Jazz.
I've read somewhere that the reason why the fuel pump/filter is now inside the fuel tank is because the fuel helps cool the pump. The filter is now just a foam gauze (also inside) rather than the external type before. Why it has to be inside the fuel tank also, I don't know. Maybe it has some benefits, but the replacement process is now definitely more challenging. 90s cars were easier to work on.
Forget that! I rather buy the whole brand new pump with the filter installed and avoid messing around with so many steps and small parts! Looks like you’re disassembling and IED bomb
Mostly comes down to how cheap you can get the complete pump assembly including the sending unit and the pump . If you buy the Honda version of "the filter" you still have to transfer the sending unit and the pump over to the new parts which is not much less of a hassle. Been there done that :-)
Hello, would you help me, my 2007 Honda fit. The acceleration was sooo bad, so I replaced a new strainer(fuel filter) the engine ended up won't start after replacing it. I disconnected those 4 connections, but did not start engine to ease the pressure. Is that pressure too low, engine won't start ? How can I elevate the pressure in able to start it. When I turned the key to on, I could hear the pump and fuel running loud as normal.
Hello I did the same as you, but my question is, do we have the same scenario when the replacement filter is not that fit to the enclosure? Is that okay? Well I'm talking at 3:28 if you see the 'clip lock' near the rod with spring. there is a gap, it is not properly fitted as mine, is that okay? I was just bothered if the fuel comes inside. Thanks!

Hey basilis I am interested on changing my fuel pump but can you give me a brief steps I am worried if I change the two(fuel filter & fuel pump) engine might not start up.
Hello bro, I changed my fuel pump just like the way you did but my car cannot start engine. I disassembled the fuel pump two times. First time I changed fuel filter and I can start the engine. But I disassembled it because the fuel gauge didn't work. Then I fixed it and ok. When the fuel gauge ok, I cannot start my engine. Do you have any idea, bro?
my friend, if you hear the pump working, probably not elevate pressure. check out the droplet Pump 2:12. if not hear the pump check out the plug catering
yes that white thing its the fuel filter, there is no tips you should replace the filter because you haver a lot of miles,a clean and new fuel filter will help the fuel pump working better and easier
Hello. Its complicated, I thought about the replacement but after your vid i think will bring it to a mechanic. Maybe the compactness and engine management system plus the fuel tank position under the seats were the reasons the japanese designed it this way. Btw. how do you cancel the fuel pressure? Disconnct the pump from the battery and burn up remaining fuel in the engine or remove fuse of the fuel pump?
good video thx where did you get the filter from and brand name. I can seem only to find the entire unit with pump and all and how long did the job take you cheers
I dont know. Modern gas stations have fuel filters on the pumps. Not a lot of cars have the gas tank under the passenger seat. That change allowed the great seating/cargo arrangement.

It look very complicated. But this video definitely helps. Thanks.
omg,i hope i will never change it :)
I'm sure I'll forget how to put them back together so I'll just buy the whole assembly.
yeah same here, may as well change out the entire pump while i'm at it
What a genius engineer decision... on the normal cars filter is changing for 2 min. Here half day work. Thank you Honda
At least in Honda cars the filter is before the pump and it is not exposed at the bottom of the car.

man, these fuckers sure made changing the fuel filter a hellish task. the engineers should have made it easier
I would rather you talk and explain than listen to music.
Is it same as honda fit?
It is
Oh my God. It is one of the most easiest things to do. All you gave to do is that your center console out....that's literally IT!!!
i changed my fuel pump and the car was jus stalling when dricvving , could t be the fuel pump or the ruber in the pump not well set
Was thinking of doing this and no...

how long I leave the engine on?

no need to change, unless u have a problem, part is for life of the car,
Yes true.
Honda says it has to be changed every 120000 kilometers.

There is no reason to worry.. if the pump is running now and after filter changes the engine will start.
cross finger!. fuel pump is to pricy I only bought fuel filter would that be okay? Since fuel pump is still working.
By the way thank you for your reply.
Wash very good the first filter, replace the basic filter and everything will be okay. When you make the replacement, if you want sent me the results.
