Mine arrived today and I am super pumped about it. It is easily my favorite figure in my collection. I find it best to compare him to other Slash figs.
There is entirely too much pink on the figure, maybe I can paint the belt more black. Idk. I feel like this fig is perfectly priced, with the amount of accessories that came with.
I've got this one on the way but I'm really pulling back on Super7 lately, the quality just hasn't been living up the price anymore. I've been really bummed about how much deco Undercover Raph lost between render and actual product yet somehow he's still the same price. Plus it seems like the later waves of TMNT don't sell out and even get discounted (saw a Splinter online for less than $30) so I'm going to take a gamble and wait on all of them to see what happens, I've got my core characters so everything now is just extra.
Absolutely love this figure! Luckily mine didn't have any paint issues, but I do agree on the bright silver for the weapons--I would have preferred a grittier gunmetal silver, like Bebop's leg brace. Overall, though, probably my favorite toy EVER. 🤩If anyone else has trouble getting the ninja stars onto his belt, I used a mechanical pencil to stretch the holes out a little ("That's what she said!") and they went on much easier.
They must not be able to get a hold of some good shiny gold paint, which really sucks because some of my favorite playmates figures are gold, like samurai Leo and Metalhead. Seems like they bought quality silver paint in bulk, though (new Shredder, Krang's walker, etc.)
Super bummed about the Samurai Leo. Besides the flat color paint, I’ve heard bunch of them have super loose wait/leg joints; loose to the point where it can’t even stand up on its own. It’s a shame bc Samurai Leo was one of my favorite original tmnt figures. And.... the alternate head with the blacked out face and gold fangs is my favorite head to date of any of the Super 7 figures. I still might buy it just for that.
For Casey and some of the other figures I've been cutting the weapons off the sprue for display. Great as the painted are, you get a whole different nostalgia kick for them with those bright retro weapons. Not feeling the overly dark wash on him. Maybe will be able to reduce it a bit.
Never thought I would have preferred a single color scheme for the belt but the silver contrast makes it a little too busy. I think this will be the only figure that I’ll use the weapons from the weapons rack
I just picked it up for £35 which I think isn’t too bad! I don’t know loads about slash, but always wanted a mean looking turtle figure ever since I saw the TMNT: bodycount cover.
Awesome review. Perhaps, the paint mistakes on the smile adds more character. He doesn't have the greatest teeth to begin with and making them look crappier will add personality. I think Slash might need some braces for that Colgate smile :)
Oof... Might have to finally take the dive into Super7 TMNT. That Slash looks too good not to, and he hits right in the nostalgia feels. Looks dope, hopefully they've figured out joints now. Heard the horror stories
Bummer. $55 bucks and something tells me we'll see another price hike before long and Super 7 still can't get a handle on any of the QC issues plaguing their ultimates line.
I genuinely don't understand why for years they couldn't figure out metalic paint on parts that were originally metallic on the vintage figures, but now they're adding metallic paint to stuff that was never metallic to begin with. Really wish I understood the reasoning behind some of their decisions that seem truly baffling.
Also the "everything costs more now so you get less and pay more" is really hilarious. And judging by the second market prices, a lot of people seem to agree lol
i love These figures, especially this Slash! but i have to admit, for the prices they're charging (which only keep getting more expensive), these QC things shouldn't be happening, messed up paint jobs, loose joints, it's all cheap line quality s*** - its starting to get quite off putting actually, im already starting to pull back a bit on them, im skipping figures now i would otherwise have gone for. at this rate Super7 will be their own demise....... :(

@@justinanderson3241 They should've used gold paint from the glow in the dark Mutagen Man. It would've been an amazing toy if they did.

Be careful with the SPRU TREE weapons, that Mace is so heavy, mine ripped itself off after I opened the package.

As long as the waist/legs joint isn’t sloppily loose like the Samurai Leo, I’m 100% in.

I got mine in and I love it. Mine looks great. One of my favorites as a kid. Hope they do Dirtbag and Groundchuck.
