Do we have the complete this seasons quest to access this stuff haven't done a single bit of the quest . I'm a pvp players don't do.pve unless it's for stuff like this. If I need to do the seasonal quest first I'll have to do that ASAP.

The repaired D1 tower is the only thing in the promotional art from into the light that we haven’t seen yet. It’s very likely they’re keeping it hush hush for the 3rd stream where it’ll be revealed to be coming back

I’ve been expecting those old pinnacle weapons to come back. They were a big reason they did sunsetting, but power creep has made regular legendaries as strong, or stronger, than the old pinnacles. Given how much hype bringing them back would cause, I've been surprised they've waited this long. It will be fun to see what the re-worked master of arms and magnificent howl can do in today’s sandbox. But, I’m still not dismantling my old Recluse (gotta keep that kill counter trophy in the vault).

One thing about the raid weapons is that the brave variants won’t completely replace the raid variants due to the differing origin traits. The brave one certainly looks good, but especially souldrinker will remain very solid.
As a non-raider who this is presumably targeted toward, they already gave us Undercurrent, which also has a health pack Origin Trait and a big ad clear perk. And Succession is an odd choice, I'd have maybe liked Heritage or just another BA weapon for everyone to enjoy

@@eir3831 succession is one of my favorite snipers in the game hands down. i dont even really know why, its a vorpal reconstruction roll so its not even like it does anything particularly special. hits like a truck and feels so nice though. if you can get your hands on one i would try it out.

And then there is Hullabaloo. Albeit in the heavy slot for base level content, it just destroys everything... so it's not like there wasn't going to be a substitute available.

I’m glad they admitted that when they were looking to what weapons were going to be reintroduced half of it would have been hand cannons and they decided to NOT do that.

Hand Cannons are so much a part of Destiny’s identity and past metas, that it confuses me when people complain about them.

@matthewcaimbeul8722 also doesn't help that the average pvp hand cannon requires zero effort to succeed with because they're good at peak shooting and team shooting while by far (bungies own words) having the most forgiving aim assist cones in the game. That's without considering there's usually some lobotomite stompee hunter teabag shooting and being toxic the whole game using them. GOD I hope hand cannons are the first weapons to get the axe when bungie starts making you work for your optimal ttk and reducing how ridiculously easy some weapons are to use.

I don't believe there'll be a D3, but it definitely feels like D2 is coming to a close. This update is basically D2's version of "Age of Triumphs", which also brought back a bunch of stuff as well as marked the end of D1. So after Final Shape and the episodes, I'm pretty certain Bungie intends to move on.

I feel like Uriel's Gift should have been one of the 12 weapons rather than the something like Hung Jury.
Uriel's Gift fits in with Recluse and Luna's Howl as an Arc Primary weapon. AND more importantly Uriel's Gift was THE Energy Weapon to use in the first few weeks/months of PvP in Destiny 2
And if they’re gonna give us raid weapons, they should have been from vaulted raids not from ones you can play currently smh

4:17 the weapons are always unlocked, the quests give a curated roll with the ornament guranteed, ornaments aren’t shade able and are locked to the weapon they drop on, but are removable. They didn’t say anything about if they are able to be re-applied
I was just rewatching his crown of sorrow video because I missed mountain top and recluse gameplay. This is awesome news, this was easily the most fun loadout I’ve used in destiny. I’m still running something similar, with ignition code and terriba. I can’t wait.

Yeah I've been talking with people about what I want to use and for me as a player that didn't play D1 all that much up until Arrivals means that the weapons I have used of these fan favorite guns are, guillotine, jury, forbearance, and the stranger's rifle (now Elsie's rifle). I do have weapons that I feel I will gravitate towards but it is hard to go wrong with any of these weapons honestly, like it looks like it will be more rare to have a role you are completely dissatisfied with than a role that you at least can still rock with and the gun will be phenomenal compared to most other weapons. It does seem fun but remember when they teased final shape before the delay and one of the weapons they teased was a healing auto rifle, it just hardly seems like there will be things that top these weapons unless Bungie is just starting to cook which I think is extreme hopium even though that would be insane to convince people to keep playing this game after final shape.
Weapons are awesome. Them calling that hall a social space was such a cheap way to sell it to us, everyone thought we’d be going back to the d1 tower or have something new for a “new era” of this game

Raid weapons are nice to see as these new versions, succession/forbearance is a surprise cause deep stone is still in game while blast furnace or midnight coup aren’t in game. Also curious to see how difficult the final shape campaign will be cause we’re getting easy ways to obtain the best guns in destiny, so how hard will the campaign be and how good will the new activity/raid weapons be?
I think it’s a case for players that haven’t had shall we say good raid lfg experience and haven’t done any raids so having two weapons from raids for said players to get a feel of what’s there is not a bad thing

Tbf, weapons have slowly crept up over the years. And in nerfed states, these aren't too far off from weapons in the current sandbox. They are definitely going to be meta of course though, but the disparity between them and everything else isn't as big as their old versions.

It is VERY similar to the structure of the 30th anniversary pack, which makes sense with it being a last minute addition but even with it looking so similar the rewards look incredibly good, onslaught looks pretty fun but also looks like it could get fairly boring after needing to do so many rounds.

What's funny about reaching the ceiling with these weapons is that, to me, we have long surpassed that point.
I basically haven't farmed for a weapon since Season of the Haunted and, during this whole past year, the only fine addition to my collection has been Scatter Signal, a craftable one.
Yeah, there have been some niche weapons too, like Word of Crota, Song of Ir Yut and a bunch of world loot drops, which I'm never gonna target farm. Still, we have those main weapons and, as long as our abilities are this potent, we just need some rolls that enhance or facilitate the ability spam loop.
Note that I'm not complaining about abilities at all, I'm just pointing out that weapons have not been the main focus of the PvE sandbox since basically pre-Witch Queen

I think new weapon types will be a focus moving forward. Recently we got heavy wave frame gl's, and rocket sidearms. We know we are getting support weapons that heal your teammates when you shoot them. I think unique stuff like that will keep loot exciting moving forward. Plus, we have no idea what is after final shape and the episodes that follow it. We just don't know if it's going to be destiny 3 or a reboot or whatever else. So I guess we will just have to wait and see. I'm curious about what the raid exotic will be for killing the witness.
i would venture a guess that the sandbox will get cleaned up sometime post final shape. everyone's gonna get to have fun and build their sand castles and dig holes but then the tractors with the rakes come out and clean it up.
I'm excited to farm these weapons, but as someone who has Succession and Forbearance crafted, I wish we had another energy weapon coming back with the Mountaintop, like Perfect Paradox or Erentil instead of yet another Hung Jury or Elsie's Rifle. I hope no PP because all those weapons are coming back later, but Erentil would have fit the theme of broken PVP weapons
Gotta look at it from the point of view of a person jumping in for TFS that hasn't played since shadowkeep, and probably doesn't own all the expansions. Those two weapons are a concession from two old raids, but the craftable ones are still probably going to be better 🙃 either that or those two will have a cracked roll worth chasing

I just want mountaintop in particular just because I love the way that it fires. It feels like a special ammo rocket and is just really fun to use, I don’t even care if it’s not that great
its still great. i still use it and have over 10000 crucible kills with it

I use it as a rifle -sniper rifle . I’ll make a new current montage later. This is all post nerf. I’m no pro montage maker or player but decent at age 55. Ill Share a clip in a moment.
@@derekthemule snipers are hitscan, MT a projectile pocket rocket, getting a kill with it at sniper rifle range is only possible on bots that don’t move an inch for multiple seconds or pure luck.
It used to shoot where you aimed it from the hip regardless of being midair or not, it’s only legit useful purpose it has post-sunset is firing it at your feet pre-glide on warlock to gain more vertical height especially combined with heat rises as the explosion doesn’t kill you but does cause a gain in vertical momentum.
But hey if you enjoy using it and have fun with it none of that matters as those 2 factors far outweigh anything I mentioned. 👍

Not even weapons people wanted, people have been screaming about making Season of the Dawn weapons obtainable again, but nah we gotta embrace the meme with Edge Transit and Hung Jury. Bungie is just so, _so_ out of touch.
I’d say with how much power creep this has, I’d say put these perks on other guns, mix and match archetypes.
For example they *did* put Mountaintop’s Micro Missile perk as its archetype, so that could mean we can an energy slot Micro Missile GL.
Other than that, I say like one or two more perks is fine, depends on what they do but I say no more new perks and give us new combinations; maybe a few new archetypes like bringing back 150 hand cannons and 900 rpm auto rifles who knows?
I started playing during Black Armory, so seeing all these Year 2 weapons come back brings a tear to my eye

I think instead of Hung Jury they should have brought back Origin Story. Now, I know that Origin Story wasn't that popular of a weapon, but I think it would have made for a much more fitting choice since it's the Auto Rifle that Zavala uses all the time in cutscenes and even in the age of Year 1 fixed roll weapons, it having Rampage was still pretty nice.
Yeah, there were plenty of other iconic weapons that could've been brought back than another version of Hung Jury, which we already have in Nightfalls. I did like that they brought back Edge Transit though for the memes basically.

All those seasons, all that choice. They re-issue 2 raid weapons, a nightfall and a sword we still have, not to mention a not exotic, exotic. To talk about weapon power and new weapons, I really hope they'd make side grades of weapons that are equally powerful, yet have different options for perk combos / weapon frames and things like that, rather than making weapons just definite upgrades that people feel "forced" to get
While yes, that may cause a problem of "I already have a good weapon, so why would I get an equally/less powerful one", weapons, imo, should be sought after due to their uniqueness (though I agree this may cause some issues with the fact that we have so many weapons in the game, and exotics exist for this purpose)
I hope that when they make new perks, they consider making something like "synergies" (sort of like enter the gungeon) which would create special effects when two specific perks are combined (theoretically speaking, might be hell to implement as a dev)
It's going to get me to come back to get some of these guns. But I'm also still preaching another sunset(on weapons)or something of the sort to make the game fresh again

i wouldnt be surprised if the whole weapons system kind of got a rework/general simplification like armor mods did a while back. Were kind of in that stage where they've just been adding to the total pool for a while getting better over time
It did technically get a rework. They added origin traits put orb making in mods instead and added the entire crafting system/enhanced perks.

we'll have to see how "new" master of arms compares to frenzy. I'm interested to see if enhancing it will also boost its damage or if we get cucked and it only enhances the duration that its active for.
