“Britain conquered half the world for spices and decided it didn’t like any of them.” I enjoyed all our trips to the UK - but the food is about as seasoned as the average cardboard box. If bland cooking was an Olympic sport- Team GB would win gold every time.
lol, the idea that there's no possible way anyone could enjoy this has to be the most British take ever!
There's a lot of spicey food in this world, because a lot of people do like it.
No one actually enjoys it...just bragging rights......the most American thing ever!
@Cody38Super many people enjoy spicy foods what are you talking about?
@@Cody38Super you sound jealous lol
@@Cody38SuperI enjoy spicy food. Your probably just made because you can't handle spicy food.
@@Cody38Super bro why are you even here you talk about how spicy food is an american bragging thing yet britain is one of the few places in the world without a culture of spicy food.
Unlike you Brits, many of us grow up eating Mexican, Indian, Thai, and we LOVE our hot wings. We literally grow up on spicy food. Black Pepper? Just a seasoning for us. Apparently Black pepper is a spice, and a hot one, for you. So hilarious!!!! 😂😂😂😂😅
Thats just pure comedy...especially the cameraman that drenched himself with water.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Also: HOLY CATWOMAN! Andre looks like Eartha Kitt. The original live-action Catwoman, Madame Zeroni and Yzma
I am Canadian and I love spicy foods that leave my mouth tingling for a good ten fifteen minutes after I am finished eating lol
Same here, I'm a pure Canadian, but I went down to Mexico when I was 16 (21 years ago) and now I love extra spicy food when it tastes good. Some foods are spicy but don't taste anything and I don't like it, but I love when something is extra spicy but you can't stop eating because it's so great.
Tingling? 😂. This makes you want to cut your tongue out for hours.
2:00
1. plain
2. lite mild
3. mild
4. medium
5. hot
6. x hot
7. xx hot
8. xxx hot
This guy says, "I thought there was only 3 levels." Does this guy even pay attention to the video or does he drift off to outer space? 😂😂😂
Takis are mild at best in the United States 😂
Takis aren't even spicy.
takis are salty, not spicy
Honestly, they taste more sour than spicy to me. They're like slightly spicier than Hot Cheetos which are like barely spicy at all.
You'd be surprised at how strong some folks' spice tolerance is. Not just in America but also in the Asian area. Though there are those who are like me and have a cat's tongue for spices. Meaning: I don't do spiciness well.
I myself want to taste the actual ingredients in a recipe ,not just spicy stuff
@@stephanietip some peoples tolerance is different...
Howdy from Texas.
Here in Texas it's pretty common for folks to grow up here eating Hot peppers and hot sauce's from early childhood to the grave. It's just a part of our culture here in Texas.
I'd have to say that the Jalapeno pepper is king here even though it's not the hottest pepper around. But it's flavor in my humble opinion is far superior to any other pepper.
And what most people fail to understand is that the heat level of the jalapeno peppers are directly related to the soil in which they are grown and the mineral content of the soil.
Because of that factor Jalapeno peppers can be as mild as a Bell pepper, or just as hot as a habanero pepper. I've grown up eating jalapenos almost on a daily basis. I will often have them with my breakfast, lunch, and dinner, most days of the week.
But even so I occasionally come across a jalapeno so damned hot it my makes me fantasize about ripping my tongue out of my head and stomping on it to put out the fire. So yeah I know hot. And even though your interpretation of what the word " Hot " means and mine are probably light-years apart. I do agree with you regarding being able to actually sit down and enjoy the taste of your foods. And the completely incompatible idea of showing off for other people and eating the absolute hottest thing that you can find. It's just for show and bragging rights.
I however love food and I really do enjoy a nice Bite from my foods. As a retired Texas chef for me at least. It's more about The ingredients complimenting and enhancing the flavors of the food you put them in.
Ollie and Josh are used to some hot spice because they both have eaten Korean food which can be very spicy.
I'm Caribbean American so I can deal with the spice...even very spicy food. I think you have to have been introduced to it at a very early age. I also think that overly hot just for the sake of being overly hot makes no. The heat level that some of my Jamaican relatives love and easily tolerate is amazing. Because, like I said, I was introduced to it at an early age, I'm able to do it too. If, for instance, I'm in Jamaica and eating at some relative's house, I find that I just adapt to the situation. This allows me to still enjoy the meal without running the risk of offending anybody. I'm flexible, but my personal choice is somewhere in the middle. Spice is good because it sends a massage to your brain that you are full faster that if you're eating bland food. I really cant say that I've ever observed people in the Caribbean overeating. Does spice play a part? I kinda think so. Everything in moderation I guess.
The sweating is ABSOLUTELY from the food.
Horchata is the secret. It's a rice, cinnamon, sugar drink. It kinda helps.
Since that wasn't a Mexican restaurant, I doubt they serve horchata (one of my favorite drinks when the ingredients are proportioned nicely). Cheese, rice and beans work well (likely why she advised mixing the mac 'n cheese with the beans). Cheese leaves a coating. Starches (found in both rice and beans) absorb. Water and bubbly drinks can actually make it worse by spreading the burning around more.
As someone who’s from Southeast Louisiana right across from New Orleans. I’ve grown up liking spicy food but not overly spicy too the point that it just burns and no other flavors. I want my food to be Seasoned with a slight bite to it
I agree-at some point it's about showing off and NOT enjoying a piece of chicken. It is all about showing how tough one is.
this video definitely reminded me of all their crazy spice challenges from their other channel 😂
Whenever you have hot spicy food, you should have a big glass of milk, to calm the heat.
We've got Nando's here in Dallas (Addison TX). 😜
Spice enhances flavor. I can take a lot of hot spicy but that isn't what I do. I don't go very hot at all in normal cooking. Competitions to see how hot you can stand are for 15yo old boys daring each other. When you get acclimated to more spice (and we will get you there), many foods will taste so much better.
We have a local taco place, (best tacos in the world), and they have a Nashville Hot Chicken Taco! It's hard to eat the whole taco, and afterwards your mouth is on fire. Hell, halfway through you're already on fire!!
What the English call unbearably hot is what we in the US feed to our children to get them used to what flavor is. I know that flavor isn't a word that the English normally use in their vocabulary, or that many even know the meaning of, but it's a real word in the rest of the world.
Nashville Hot chicken sandwich is one of my go to meals. It has such good flavor and definitely has a kick in spice to it
Remember Jolly has a lower tolerance on heat with regards to spice. My 2 year old niece enjoyed a bowl of chilli with jalepenos and a.few.dashes of hot sauce. Then again the entire family eats fire. we have hot.wing contests at.restaurants. if you eat a certain amount in a specific time frame your meal is free, you get a t shirt and a.photo on the wall. My husband and his brother collected 5 t.shirts each one night and paid a penny
Halfway through this I had to get ice water
No! Not for me. Takes the pleasure out of eating. 😜 I went to a restaurant where you had to sign that you would not blame them for what ever happened when you ate the crazy hot food. I got up, walked out and never went back. 😄
Peppers are very good for you and should be on everyone's diet.
She a villain. I like it.
This video made my palms sweat...
I have family in Brasil and they never use hot spices in their food. One cousin came to stay with me a few years back, and at first Taco Bell tacos were too spicy for him, even with no sauce. But after a month here, tacos were his favorite food.
Josh and Ollie are so brave to eat such hot foods. I like hot food but only to a certain level. I probably if I ate there, I would get mild or medium and nothing above that
I've watched 4 videos of this and you're the first person to catch the sweat stains on Ollie's sweatshirt.
I love Nandos but Nashville Hot is a different level. Love the editing on Jolly.
Cayenne pepper is a staple in fried chicken where I am from. There is even a ff place that sells it. I miss it so much.
I tried the medium at Nando's, and it wasn't spicy in the slightest as an American. It wouldn't even be considered mild in the U.S.
The "hot" level is probably my stop tolerance.
Hey I'm a heat wimp as well. I don't mind a little kick but to have me running away screaming is not good. Remember what goes in hot usually comes out hot.
Love a hot chicken sandwich from Chicken and The Wolf after a BMX race with a Cinnamon Toast Crunch shake to wash it down.
Yeah~, I’m sweating just watching this. I tell you what, though: I knew a lady who needed this level of spice in order to even feel it.
i have a friend who loves ghost peppers in everything...
They established at the counter that it goes up to extra extra extra hot and she was getting them one of each.
Tip: milk (and milk products) are best at getting rid of spicy flavors... The milk replaces the spices on your tongue and blocks them from the receptors on you tongue, thus reducing the spice level.... Other liquids just spread it around and non-liquids just remove a small amount at a time
Spice is Life!😊
Prince's chicken is boss... I love spicy food. Medium has the right heat (the chicken there is delicious) anything above medium and you can't taste the chicken, only the spice. If you want excellent chicken with heat, then Prince's is the place.
I actually have chicken marinating in some Nando's Peri Peri Extra Hot Sauce right now and yeah, it's not real hot. I'd say somewhere between mild and medium spice level, but it does have a nice flavor. 🤣
that guy that walked up in the black shirt and blonde hair is so cute and sexy.
The hottest curry I ever had in my life was in Scotland!
Does the Indian food in the UK have spices in it?
if they ate the hot chicken w/o honey we got problems
Thur, I have been waiting for you to do this one. I have been to this place several times and I can only eat medium. It will burn going in and coming out. I am sure anyone who eats the XXX hot can blow flames out of their ass. I bet these guys had a few bad days after this meal.
😂
I have a friend that loves extremely hot spicy food so much she gave herself an ulcer. So she ate so much spice she burned a hole in her stomach. I'll eat spice but not to the point of absolute discomfort. Besides it hurts on it's way out of you latter when your butt catches fire.
This stuff is rough. Please take my word for it.
Why do I see a HOT ONES ep forming here
I get xx hot every time I go to Prince’s.
They're sweating because of their reaction to the spices. Why else would they be sweating? This reactor is a complete dumb a**. 😂😂
Hee! I feel the same way about very hot foods, Thurston. I just don't see the appeal of painful food at all. It just makes it impossible to taste the actual _food_ for me.
This just looks so miserable to me. Utter masochism.
...a quick look at your channel does not show a video of you trying Buffalo wings or Nashville hot chicken. There has got to be a place that offers Buffalo wings there. Plck one that has good ratings and order Buffalo wings, carrots and celery with Ranch, and a beer.
Olly is a drama queen.
WEAK!!!!!!! You can't handle Takis? HAHAHA HAHAHA hahaha 😂😅😅😅😅
Uk people can’t handle the spicy food? 🌶️
I don’t like “hot” food either. I want to taste the food!
it’s called “flavor”.. it’s nice
