The Alexa Keyboard - My Experience
Вставка

- The Alexa is an instock unit for 185 dollars that finds itself in a tough spot. It has to compete with tons of other products in the market that offer way more "stuff" in the box for less of a premium compared to the Alexa.
The Alexa does have a simple design with thin bezels and a low front height which may attract some, but it lacks other items like a weight for people who want heft, wireless modes that other items in the this price point offer and a fun design (subjective)
It does have 2 mounting styles, but in my experience with boards that offer two, one feels WAY better than the other but this is purely subjective.

This guy makes in my opinion THE best sounding keyboards out there, keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
Spitting straight facts 💯🙏🙏
I like how curse words are bleeped but there's a key cap that clearly says F off 😂
I really like my Alexa, but it is definitely hard to justify the price over other offerings out there
nice little board, i'm a big fan of using switches to get certain keys tuned to preference.
Honestly as someone who's dealt with RSI and carpal tunnel, flex is not a meme. Those of us with these issues, avoiding a harsh bottom out helps a ton. Flex or properly "suspended" plates and certain switches all are better options. A stiff tray mount really does actually hurt.
I feel like flex isn't gonna fix RSI, its the spring weight, typing angle, and ulnar deviation
A while ago I got an 'ergo' keyboard aftermarket because ppl were praising it for all sorts of abstract reasons like minimizing motion and better wrist angles. Started typing on it and it felt like hitting a brick since it just had the switches mounted directly on the aluminum case! While I still can see the potential benefits of ergo elements (I do love me a nice Alice for instance) a good mounting system should be the baseline to start from. @@lilililiililliil7277
I've also dealt with both before, and I have to say that flex made my strain worse. Bounce was good, but flex made me have to put in more force than normal to activate a key. I had to tape up the flex cuts in my Zoom65 PCB to make it more bearable. This isn't to discount your experience, but to provide an alternative perspective for someone with the same conditions.
After dealing with RSI, not using a normal keyboard is the best way to go...
i recommend top mount w/ alu plate. i disliked every other config with this board except maybe for plateless top mount.
what did you mod the cherry blacks with?
Hey Alex, could you tell me what your favorite switch atm is? I heard you really like KTT Roses but after trying them I have mixed feelings.
Right now I’m vibing with Cherry Nixies, Obscura switches and KTT Roses
@@alexotos thanks for the answer. I'll definitely have to try them out :)
3:59 I totally agree. Flex is incredibly overrated. The same people who worry about stem wobble on their switches enjoy flex on their boards. 😵💫
There is a point where wobble is straight up bad. But that is basically not happening with most commercially made switches
What are the keycaps on that Event Horizon (grey/silver) please?
I think the keycap set is GMK Boneyard
this one is a buy for me 100%, just waiting for next semester money T^T.
I'll sell you mine! A-stock. POM plate and FR4 plate. Cherry MX Black lubed/filmed/spring swapped
neo70 thoughts and if there is any expected review or build from you?
Bought this on the group buy and waited about 9 months to receive it. Cost me $288 with one extra POM plate. Not impressed with it, but won't sell it because I won't even get half of what I paid. On the shelf it goes...
That slanted cable channel also bothers me lol
i just ordered a neo70 and i cant wait but it will arrive in a month bruh
hey
Good front height but that typing angle is a big oof. Also, not available in Europe meaning it's not even worth getting this keeb as you will have to pay an exorbitant amount of taxes.
Second
first
Plateless hotswap💀. Also, its really weird that you have to pay extra for solderable pcb (which are usually 2x cheaper) with the board that is meant to be plateless
Oh, or is it meant to be plateless?
@@wraithlyshine yes it’s meant to be plateless!
ALEXA become a myth
